This is the first interview I have ever seen with Edward and Sophie and he is just the sweetest and most natural man, with such a lovely sense of humour. Really enjoyed this tremendously, just not long enough!

I think they all have a good sense of humor and are quite funny. People just have a tendency to take whatever they say and twist it in a negative way. I even think Prince Philip's funny LOL

The Wessexes are such a lovely couple. They seem to live a happy, grounded, normal life together. They are truly my favorite royal couple.

He took the lesser title of Earl so that he could eventually inherit his fathers title of Duke of Edinburgh thereby ensuring the continuation of that Dukedom

He is a HRH so the earldom doesn’t mean that much to him it gave a title to Sophie.

These two are so genuine and warm.
Look at the body language of those two. They love and support each other. They are a great team, devoted to duty, and yet so down to earth. No drama or seeking the limelight with Edward & Sophie. I admire them tremendously and am happy Edward will be the next Duke of Edinburgh.

Edward does come across as the most 'normal' of the four siblings. He came across as a bit bratty in the 80s but since he got married I think he's become a genuinely nice guy. She's probably been a good influence on him. She comes across as the most relatable and 'together' of the wives too.

Edward is my favourite of all the royal family !! my friend had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago when his little daughter was first born.She said that he was so down to earth very easy to talk to.
Edward and Sophie both came to my small town in North Wales back in 2008 and planted a tree in our local coronation gardens. My dad and mum both met them and they said Sophie was especially lovely and so down to earth.

I had to laugh when Sophie said that the queen sees a lot of them “lucky her”. They do both seem relatively normal. As normal as one could be in those circumstances anyway.
I really like them. I also greatly admire and appreciate the Princess Royal. She gets on with her duties without fuss and controversy.
What a great down-to-earth couple. I also really enjoyed the style of Rhiannon Mills as interviewer. She seems very warm and isn't google-eyed or condescending. Just normal and conversational. I liked it when the Earl was talking about walking down a "corridor of people" and being scared. I know he understands that everyone there loves the Family and just wants to greet them and say a warm haloo to them!

Very good interview, the first I've seen wih Prince Edward and his wife Sophie. I was also pleasantly surprised at how nice, open and down-to-earth they are! With all the scandals surrounding Charles and Andrew, and the relatively low-key profile of Princess Anne, I'd say Edward and his family are the Royal Family's best kept secret! 😊

agree, he was a bit of prat in the 80s (although his mistakes are small fry compared to his brothers) but he has changed for the better since meeting Sophie. I guess her working class background probably helped him become so down to earth.
I always felt that Sophie was the woman that has been the making of Edward. He and his siblings were extremely arrogant somehow, before Princess Diana's death. Sophie is very intelligent, classy and above all well balanced.

Although I am an American, for some reason I have always had an interest in the royal family from a very young age. I can remember reading about the announcement of the Queen being pregnant with Edward, and being "shocked" because the Queen was (in MY naive mind) much too "old" to have a baby. I had followed Edward's life through the years, but I became busy with my own life, so I haven't been paying too much attention for a couple of decades. He seems to have turned out to be a fine man with a very lovely wife and family. They seem so pleasant.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and having lunch with HRH The Earl of Wessex and he is a very nice guy and put me at ease!! As he was walking up the receiving line one was getting very nervous!!

They are perhaps the nicest, warmest, calmest and the most approachable of the royals. From what I have seen they are 2 of the hardest working royals apart from Charles and Ann now as the Queen is passing off a lot of her work to the younger royals as at 94 she deserves a rest.
