1. Sql server instance is collection of database
2. database is a collection of objects( tables, functions, procedures, etc
3. SSMS, sql server management studio is a developing tool to interact with SQL instance
4. Server Type
Server Name,
Authentication, username/passowrd
types of server: 1. Database Engine 2. Analysis Service, 3. Reporting service 4. Integration service
SSMS is used to interact with first server type
BIDS (Business Intelligence development studio) is used for last three server type . MSBI tools
