  • This pattern and yarn kit from Kraemer Yarns is deceptively simple - it's just two rectangles! Knit in bulky yarn, it's a quick project that is also good for knitters who want to give cables a try for the first time.
    More info and links are available on my website here:
    verypink.com/2...
    The Arrowhead Poncho yarn kit is available here: patternsbykrae...
    (If you don't see the color you're after, it is currently out of stock. Please contact Kraemer Yarns for more info.)
    You can add Arrowhead Poncho to your Ravelry queue here: www.ravelry.co...
    You can see all of the Mauch Chunky yarn colors here: www.kraemeryar...
    The colors of yarn in the video are:
    Purple (my poncho) is knit in Eggplant.
    The grayish yarn is Blueberry Ice.
    The tan color is Sandstone.
    The bright pink in the swatch is Raspberry.
    The needles I'm using are Knitter's Pride Ginger from an interchangeable set. The cable needle is by Brittany.

The blocking will take care of itself. Thank you Stacy. Sometimes you just NEED to KNIT something for the sake of knitting. 😀❤️

    Love the pattern and the hint about the label direction. I've know about the label direction for years now and can't remember where that hint came from. Could have been you. Even with skeins like this, I pull from the outside. I have had the worst luck when I pull from the center and that's with following the label direction. I also work from the outside of any hanks I wind.

    the yarn is spun woolen style. that's why you get a little untwist at the end of the ball. That's also why it's so warm, and why the cables are so pretty.

  • @rubygray7749
    @rubygray7749 4 года назад

    @12:30. I too try to tighten up the join between purl and knit stitches.
    But I find it easier to make the purl stich after the knit, by bringing the yarn underneath the needle instead of over the top. This is a shorter sdistance, so automatically tightens the junction as you go.
    The only thing you then need to remember, is that this stich will be twisted when you come to knit it on the next row, so knit into the back of this stitch instead.
    But this is a quicker way round the problem, and works a treat!

    This video offered so much good advice: how to know from which direction one should pull yarn from a ball; from which end to pull roving yarn; what brand of cable needle (Brittany!) to use, etc., etc. Staci, thank you as always for my moment of Knitting Zen!

  • @heather7862
    @heather7862 4 года назад +2

    Your advice on tightening up purl stitches after knit stitches is probably the best thing that has happened to my knitting!! I used to have really long running threads (is that what it’s called?) between my stitches and it looked terrible. Now I do it out of habit.

    I have decided that I will do other people’s patterns just so I don’t have to spend so much brain time designing for me 😄 I get too busy and I really need to be a little bit more product oriented, so even though I can design something like this (with my own cables and lace palette) for myself, I think I will have to do this kit. My only worry is in not having enough yarn to complete. I may want to use a 5.5 or 6 mm needles. I like closely knitted garments. I don’t like the cutting wind in autumn 😁

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  5 лет назад +3

      Nope - doesn't matter, especially when you're working a flat piece like this. It can make the right/wrong side more confusing if you're knitting in a tube, but ultimately, it doesn't make a difference.
