An undying rabbit pelt is the epitome of "stop, it's already dead". It's interesting how the grizzly doing too much damage actually slows you down because of the overkills. I wonder if it saves enough time in the last fight to be worth it.
I noticed this too! I kept thinking: "No, put the godgrizz on the outside! Less spots to hit saves time, less gold teeth to fall saves time!" Could have taken an extra minute off in total I want to say. The only spots where it would be worth it would be against grizzly armies or against the final boss.
best parts: 1. Leshy getting hit consistently with 20+ damage watching the bowl of teeth overflow "am I joke to you?" 2. TOO FAST TOO SOON! HAVE A FLEET OF BEARS! .....oh no. 3. "Bro, he hit me with such a hard core bear attack it slapped the red out of my eyes" 4. The game, knowing you were destroying it did the only thing it could: YOU GET ALL THE EFFING BONE CARDS!
Surprising how informative the video is on how to best handle a run without having to spell it out. Makes me think I could manage this. I’m only at level 2 now though so still building it up. Love that they added this mode, a shame act 2 and 3 didn’t get something like this, but act 1 was the best for it
A week later and I’ve just beaten an all challenge run myself 😁 this was a good reference. It’s all about thinning the deck so that a goat always starts in your hand, getting your mantis god on an attacker, getting rid of the ring worms, beefing up your attacker where possible so that you can get five damage through the grizzly wall by using an item to clear a space on the field or a brush and a fan to get over them. It doesn’t have to be a grizzly, but getting a big card out turn 1 is key, you can’t lose if they don’t get a turn
@@selder_7 Yep! Good strategy. The run in this video is the only run where I lucked so hard that I had a card powerful enough that items didn't even matter for the boss fights (except for boss 1)
i'm at level 11 challenge right now and was curious of people strategies...DAMN! i'm using a mantis deck strat but never thought of sacrificing the mantis to a higher card like grizzly and what a fucking lucky run...two more grizz pulls, a myco plus a paint plus a magpie...pretty OP. obviously, you need to be for those damn grizzly...
Im loving how the all challenge combined is just 100% pure luck when the game taught me that with skill i can overcome every challenge until level 11. Good run btw this achievement tilt me so much
I just did this run myself, and did it on my third ever attempt. I did savescum a lot, but I used the Moose Buck deck, always took opportunities to get rid of cards I didn't want, and ended up at the end with my Black Goat and two Moose Bucks with a 5/7 statline having unkillable on them, my 1 Moose Buck and Black goat having Annoying, then I had 2 Grizzlies, one with Bifurcated Strike, the other with nothing, and then a Cockroach with Trinket Bearer and Scavenger, and then a Lammergeier to top it all off, as well as a Bifurcated Strike hooved totem. I admit though, it was far from the most optimal strategy. I used a frozen oppossum in both Angler and Prospector fights to tank Grizzly hits if I recall, and managed to use pelts in the Trapper fight to tank hits instead. Fought Royal with a Skinning Knife and Hourglass, I believe I only used the hourglass and still won. Your strategy here bypasses the need for unkillable damage dealers however since you dealso much damage to each space, and are able to withstand so much damage as well.
I got encouraged by this video to try the challenge myself and, surprisingly, I won after a couple of days trying...but not with this starter deck. I was getting annoyed of having to re-start every time I didn't get a Goat on the first event and I thought "what about starting with the deck that already includes a goat?" Thanks to a starting Dire Wolf and being able to buff it once I got to the end of it all. But you have to be sure to have at least one object that frees up a space on the wall of Grizzlies for every boss battle Nice video!
forgot to mention a little detail: I sacrificed a Magpie to the Goat at the beginning of the run. That was essential to get the Dire Wolf on the first turn
@@danielharding3688 if they added a speedrunner's mad where you dont get any teeth but it tracks your time for you (and lets you compare it to others who used the same conditions as you) it would easily solve that problem and be convenient to runners XD
You can go faster by putting the grizzly on one of the sides. It will only make two attacks and there will be less teeth rewarded so you save time in both ways
Apparently, if a redditor who looked into the code is to be trusted, the criteria for misplays is this: 1. Roll a twenty-sided die at the start of the player’s first turn. Roll two twenty-sided dies on the second turn, three on the third turn, and so on 2. If any of the dies rolls a 1, add a misplay So basically it’s entirely random, but you have a higher chance of getting a misplay the longer matches take.
I just unlocked Grizzly Bosses and remembered this video, so I tried it with a similar strategy. On my first try I managed to get past the 3 bosses, but ironically I died to Leshy, the only boss that doesn't get the bears. The game just wouldn't let me draw my megabuffed moose buck (I'm doing it for challenge level 12, my challenges were Grizzly Bosses, More Difficult x2, Tipped Scales and All Totem Battles)
Are you guarantied a one blood unit in your first hand? I thought it was either a one blood or a bone cost. If it is either a one blood cost or a bone cost, then why did you prioritize bone units? Either way this run was really great to watch. Good job!
The fair hand rule just guarantees you start with a 1 blood in your hand. The pair of coyotes I picked up were pretty much just random/arbitrary. It didn't matter as long as they weren't a 1 blood!
I believe that the trappers traps actually only kill the card that's in front of them. Because the grizzly was placed in front of the only non trap card, and no other cards were played, when the traps were sprung nothing was killed

There's a mechanic in the game that always gives you a 1 blood cost card at the start of the match, so you always have something to play. The mantis god deck he took has 2 ring worms that are 1 cost and since it is a very bad card, he just wants his black goat to be guaranteed in his first draw. So he sacrificed it to not have it in his deck anymore, the clock sigil is not good (gives opponent card 1 more damage) but it's worth to get rid of the ring worm.
