Transitions on the SAT Grammar [2021]

- SAT Grammar can be a tricky part of your SAT prep. Sometimes you need to know all the grammar rules, sometimes you need to show your sat reading ability as well.
Transition questions are responsible for about 10 - 15% of your total SAT score. If you are constantly making these transition question errors, make sure you utilize the 4 - step process.
Step 1️⃣
❌❌❌ cross out the transition already in place. We do this to prevent any future bias towards the NO CHANGE option.
Step 2️⃣
Read the sentence above and the sentence with the transition until the period.
Figure out the type of relationship that exists:
Continuous | Reversal | Cause and Effect
🔴Link to the list of transitions sebersonmethod.com/blog/12424...
Step 3️⃣
Evaluate your answer choices. If they are too similar to each other AND represent the same type of relationship, it's safe to say that they are both wrong.
Step 4️⃣
Choose the right answer. Plug it in and re-read the two sentences ensuring that they flow together nicely.

I absolutely love your channel! Your videos helped me a lot. I was able to improve my reading and writing score over 100 points!!!! Thank you so much
Yay!!! Way to go
I love your channel. My total score increased 120 points after watching your videos!
Awesome video! I love your teaching style thank you!
Your video really has killing content!!!! Thank u sooo much!!!! (and just wondering if u can share any tip for the "assumption" question in the reading section? I get it wrong everytime i meet one)
I absolutely love your videos your reading strategy helped me immensely. I went form getting 20 question wrong to only 5. Reading and Writing are my worst subjects and your videos have helped me a ton. I am also dyslexic and your method have boosted my scores. I would love it if you could please do a punctuation video or one on verb subject agreement.
Kailey, great work on reducing your errors in reading! You did it, please don't give me the credit. Re another video: I am currently writing a book (it's on the SAT reading), so I'll have to point you to College Panda Grammar books for Subject-Verb agreement for now. I have to be careful where my time goes. Hope that makes sense. One more reading walkthrough is coming as soon as we reach 1000 subs.
How pls teach me
I only got like 3 days left lmao
@@KatyaTutorSAT hey has ur book been released ?

I just wanted to say thanks for all this free help you're giving to so many people. With your help, I went from 1220 to 1430, so pretty good.
I am so thrilled to hear this! Great work!!!
Wow
Could you do a video about punctuation? I’m an international student that isn’t very familiar with it. More specifically commas.
i am really thankful to you . That is what I wanna know.
You are one of my best youtube teachers! Thank you very much!! -from a Korean student
Thank you! If you are taking the test soon, consider joining me in my group classes SAT Verbal. sebersonmethod.com/p/sat-verbal

how did you do?? Was it okay? Asking out of curiosity!
@@juliazdziowska9417same.. although it's been 3 years.
This is ridiculous, but I've gotten into Brown 2 years ago now :)) SATs were truly a pain in the ass but the journey has been incredible. Good luck! @@comoyun
so helpful! I love your videos.
I am so glad 😉
Thank you , shift=transition I will remember and utilize its!
Please do. Also, make sure you practice with all the transition words: continuous, reversal and cause and effect.
Although im an non-native english speaker, my grammer on the SAT is actually not quite bad as i though it was. However, i need to practice and enhance the transition words part, since im really in doubt with theese kind of words... But i think i am going to do it :)
Awesome video, thank you!
You are so welcome! Enjoy
thank u very much this video is really helpful !!! now i can do these type of questions correctly !!!!
Did it really work? How much did u increase your score?
Thank you Mrs. Seberson! This was very helpful :)
Glad you find this helpful!
Seberson Method awesome :). If you wouldn’t mind, I had a question regarding speed on the reading question. I am a good reader, but only when I go slow. I usually miss 5 or less questions on the reading section, but only when I take a little extra time, say 5-6 mins. I feel rushed on the section and I make around 7-8 mistakes when within the time. I have signed up for the August SAT, and wanted to know the best way to cut down on mistakes while also being able to read faster
@@rijulranjan8514 The test is timed this way on purpose. I myself would love an extra 5 -6 minutes. My answer is probably not something you want to hear - training. You must train yourself every day before the test to get through the passages in the amount of time you have available to you. You have about 12 minutes and 30 seconds per passages. Use those minutes wisely. Have a strategy that works for you.
If you are wondering there the 12 minutes 30 seconds are coming from, please refer to the timing tool. bit.ly/33aN28y
Seberson Method Thank you Mrs. Seberson :)
THANK YOU SM + wish me luck my trial is on next Saturday
Best of luck, Arwa! You have a whole week to study. Focus on your mistakes. Make sure you understand why you made a mistake and how to get it right next time!
Hands down, one of the most helpful guides on writing on RUclips. Only if you had more content covering more areas of writing...
Thank you. I’m working on it.
Seberson Method Wish I could make use of them :( My SAT is on 14th March
@@godmode7905 how much did you get
I really hope you can make more videos regarding reading and walk through. They are so helpful.
Hey, thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm currently working on the reading course for you guys. Coming soon. Probably won't be out before the March test, but certainly before May 2020.
@@KatyaTutorSAT Great , I am taking the may exam. Can't wait :D
Keep the hard work
That’s perfect. I’ll be filming purpose questions on Friday.
I am out of words. Please make more videos regarding timing especially for reading section.
+ another walk-through video.
>>>
I have one question. I tried your way of dealing with reading passage as reading question first like you did in the walk-through video but it took much time from me. Am I doing it wrong or what ??
Great video
Very helpful👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻♥️
my writing score really went from 250-350 after watching your videos. It really helped me to improve my silly mistakes. Thank you so much.

When is "and" precedes " additive transition"? Does "and" change the meaning when it precedes words like furthermore? Can i use transition without "and?"
when are you going to make another reading passage walk through
Jake, I think I've answered this someplace else. Once the channel hits 1000 subs, I'll make more walkthroughs. Hopefully, soon;) Walkthrough videos take hired labor and a lot more time.
This is a great lesson.
Thanks ✅
I have a question. What is the difference between therefore and thereby?

@@KatyaTutorSAT I have a question. What is the difference between therefore and thereby?
@@aidan2849 There you go. I answered in a blog post sebersonmethod.com/blog/221673/therefore
@@aidan2849 Thanks for inspiring me to think about this.
See, you are contradicting yourself. Subsequently and the other 2 options belonged to "continuous" family but "however" in the reverse family. then you give a tip that if all three belong to the same family, it's almost certain the correct answer is the last one.
Eros Kuikel Hey, thank you for the comment. Let me clarify: I wanted to say that when two transitions belong to the same family and mean the same thing - like additionally and moreover - they can be cancelled out. The divisions between transitions is very arbitrary and clearly Subsequently and Also mean different things even though they are grouped into continuous group.
She just doesnt get to point. Bluffing. However her videos seem to be helpful.
stop calling us chickens bruh your mad weird
