Just want you to know how much I appreciate your videos. I was scared to do my own server, but you have made it very comfortable for me to do this. I am following your videos, and they are very good. Because of you I am going to have to buy a bigger case to add a couple of more drives to my server. lol Thanks for all the work you do for these videos.
Thanks for letting me know that my content helps. Sorry about the case issue, just part of the game! 😃 I started out with 3 drives, I now have 14 so I get it. Thanks for sharing.
Your vids are awesome! Just want to throw some info out in case it helps someone else in the future. I followed all your guides setting up the Starr apps and qbit. Everything works great after i figured out what was causing qbit to not start downloads. They would load in but would be stuck at 0. After some messing around and lots of research i was able to figure out that i had to change the default save path in qbit to mnt/user/data/torrents. It would not work as /data/torrents like you show in the vid. hope this helps someone! keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words. I personally use Deluge, though they are both great programs, I prefer Deluge as I have had less problems with it. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Unless I'm missing something, the only downside to using qBittorrent is not having an extension, like delugesiphon, to move your mag links over.
Thanks for the comment. I agree, Delugesiphon is a small thing, but it makes it simple. There is a version of it for qBittorrent, but I haven't used it. Check it out here if you wish. github.com/isergey87/qbittorrent-siphon
Love your videos. I just wanted to confirm something. Do I need both Deluge and qBittorrent? or is it an either/or option? and if so, which do you prefer? Thanks!
Thanks for reaching out! You do not need both, only one. I myself prefer Deluge over qBittorrent as it seems to have a simpler interface and easier to use.
binhex qbit vpn has a completely different install from what I am seing compared to your screen. Where you have Host port 1, 2, 3 etc... it now has them named differently. Not sure if they match up in the same order, or if they are different.
So I'm following this guide for the second time on the same server. For some reason, when I reinstalled, making sure to delete the old appdata folder for qbittorrent, I have no new wg0 conf file in my qbittorrent \appdata\binhex-qbittorrentvpn\wireguard folder. This was not the case the first time I installed. I retried installing several times, but the file will not generate again no matter what I do. Searching online seems to yield little results as well. Does anyone have a clue what could be going on here? I may be missing something obvious, but if anyone knows, that would help!!
I am curious, what is the point in creating the custom network/proxy if we are going to use the VPN within qbittorrent anyways? Just curious because this step didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Thank you!
It's so that the traffic stays within the server and does not have to bounce out to the router and switch then back to the server when it's "talking" with the other containers like Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr, etc…
I'm having an issue with the mover script. I had it working for the first few days, but now I get python3: can't open file '/mnt/user/data/scripts/mover.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory. The script is is saved in that directory.....I'm not sure how to go about fixing it
I had an issue with mine and I ended up having to remove python, then re-installing it. It's been working since I did that. I would start with that and go from there.
Thanks for another great tutorial. Just want to add for others, just like anything else double check everything you edit or type! After editing the Wireguard conf file, I couldn't access the GUI anymore. I kept checking settings and they all looked correct but still wouldn't work! Some troubleshooting later, I noticed dummy me didn't completely delete the text for the endpoint and had "nca.toronto ...." instead of "ca.toronto... " lol
Hmm, I was taught that Kilobytes measures storage capacity or data size, while kilobits measures data transfer rates or transmission speeds. I could be wrong.
@@AlienTech42 Yes, simplified that is true. But if you look closely on qBit it doesn't say kb/s, it says KiB/s. A kilobyte (KB) is a unit of digital information storage equal to 1,000 bytes, based on the decimal system. A kibibyte (KiB) is based on the binary system and equals 1,024 bytes. Meanwhile, a kilobit (kb) is a unit of digital information transmission equal to 1,000 bits, where 8 bits equal 1 byte.
@@rossedward1986 @Tuntira Leave the /Config path alone and change the /Data path. and for me - I ended up having to use "/mnt/user/data/" rather than "/mnt/user/data/torrents" like he does in the video - if i follow exactly what he does, qbittorrent ends up making another torrent folder inside of the torrent folder that already exists.
/data would be set to: /mnt/user/data... Without seeing it, I assume the /config would be the appdata location. I have been getting a fair amount of questions on this video since the docker container changed. I am looking at making an updated video on it.
Great guides! I would love to see a Video for running a VPN on a VM. Im living in a very restrictive Country where only Astrill VPN is working. But that one only have Linux applets. That would be great. Thx
I'm curious you've made several videos based on the official TRaSH Guides, but I see nowhere in your description a link to it that you used it as a source for your recent videos. or do you have that info hidden and I didn't see it?
BTW TRaSH mentioned he was kind of honored that someone used the official written guide to create videos based on them. But I would expect that you add credits to your description that you used them as a source, because looking at some comments; it seems like they think you also maintain those guides. And the written guide is often a bit more up-to-date so people can fall back to them if needed.
If the container stops as right after starting it, then there is most likely some incorrect setting. When I have that issue I start with the easiest settings I can, remove all VPN options, check the port numbers again to make sure there are no conflicts, turn off Privoxy, etc. You can also turn on the Debug mode to look for clues.

Here is the error: WARNING: pip is configured with locations that require TLS/SSL, however the ssl module in Python is not available
Thanks for that information. Looks like there is a dependency missing. I assume you have tried going back to nerd tools and removing, then re-adding the Python portion. After some Googling I would bet that the current version of Nerd Tools is not 100% compatible with Unraid 7. Once the stable version of Unraid 7 comes out I bet this issue will be addressed with an updated version of Nerd Tools. I would go over to: forums.unraid.net/topic/129200-plug-in-nerdtools/ and post your problem there.
Have you watched my first qBittorrent video? You might want to start there and see if there was something that I missed in this one. However, I'll add getting Wireguard setup on Unraid to my list.
