I think the BIG problem with Koga is that he started below Kengan's level (below dudes like the Medicine Man who was just a fat cheater) and his evolution while properly showed in early Omega with his pretty intense training regime (the pro-wrestler conditioning+MMA with Kureishi+improving his footwork with Ryuki+the sparring with Kokuro+karate with Joji) it was messed up with him being robbed of the Purgatory match and all the timeskip. So even if we know he retained the training intensity and added all those S-Tier and A-Tier mentors for two years we're showed so little that the suspension of disbelief in shattered.
@@GrieverTheLionHeartHe was close to beating Medel in Purgatory even before Berserker Bowl. So I believe his Growth. Nobody says he will beat the Top 4 of both Parties but I guess he will be able to hold his own against anyone who fought in Berserker Bowl, even those he avoided by luck

Maybe his training arcs are a bit shortened recently and in comparison to the mangas start, but it still feels organic, since you can imagine that he trained every single Day ofpage, like all Martial Artists do. And he is a fast learner due to his Eyes. Even Ohma said that
What you didn't realise is that even if he isn't in the top 30 strongest he is still top of the underground martial arts because there are many more underground fighting factions than purgatory and kengan. And he was A list purgatory fighter so he is definately on top of underground martial arts like pretty much all of purgatory a list
I was lowkey so irritated two weeks ago when I found out Koga was facing off against this bum. We already knew what was gonna happen, it was just a matter of if Sandro was gonna play his cards right (Spoiler: HE DIDN'T). But whatever, so glad this is out of the way. I just want the plot to move forward now!
The main problem that Koga has is that his training is never fully shown or expanded upon. my biggest appeal of this fight is Koga using moves other than the Niko style very good decisions imo Know this is where powerscaling really needs to come into play so people aren’t concerned about Koga’s growth everyone needs to remember that Yumi is literally a nobody he was an ok bodyguard made fang because Metsudo knew he would do something funny and fuck up stuff and give Metsudo entertainment but he fucked up the wrong stuff and Metsudo sent Misasa the reprimand him People are saying “oh is Koga as strong as misasa because of how bad they both fucked up Yumi” no plain and simple no reasons Misasa played around and when he got serious annihilated Yumi Koga was completely serious and locked in lets put this into perspective Misasa punches Yumi where he Slams his face and Body into the ground even shaking him later when he’s serious ge indented a crater in Yumi’s Face which apparently never healed properly, Koga used multiple iron Breakers in his face… see the damage difference pretty huge All in all i of course believe Koga’s gotten stronger but how stronger is can’t pinpoint it very good right now off the top of my head but i would maybe put him somewhere below guys like Saw, Cosmo, Rihito
My problem with that is we have nearly no indication that was Metsudo's plan all along. Sure the 7th and 4th Fang were weary of him but where other than headcanon was it stated Metsudo did that on purpose to expose him? Even if that was the case and he might be the weakest Fang? This chapter says he is a top dog, in black and white. So regardless what we as readers think, he was stated to not only be as strong as Agito during KAT, IS fighting seriously, fucked up Jose twice, and was said to be a top tier of the verse in this chapter. Our C tier Koga just wrecked this same character's shit with no effort and I do not buy it.

See, I partially disagree. I agree that koga jumping up tiers because off screen training is absolutely bs, however we have seen him climb up tiers pretty quickly even when we follow him. My example being the tournament where he fought ryuki. He went from top of D to being mid C tier during that tournament. His growth rate when given something to grow with is honestly impressive. My main issue is that he honestly shouldn’t be reaching these heights as he is. He mimics the various fighters to a lower level, but he has yet to develop a single thing that should let him go above C tier. All he has is knock off versions of abilities from fighters way above him.
@ true, even with shen’s instructions it’s bs. We should see the characters struggle to reach this point, as we basically just have to assume he has been doing some high diff fights just for suspension of disbelief. Also, I suggest you reread kengan ashura’s fight between agito and hatsume, because if I am right this chapter is even worse. What koga is doing is almost exactly how counter initiative was described, and that was considered well below pre initiative at the time. So how the hell is it now a foresight counter?
As a 2 scoops koga fan, id like to say shen "training" him could justify his growth. Even tho shens advice is kind of bullshit, he did at least lightly spar with koga. Like kanoh vs agito round 1 showed kanoh stopping gaolangs punch before gaolang can start the punch, koga was blocking 🐒 's kicks

This way A. we could prepare us to see something, so it's not random offscreen powerspikes and B. we could do theories about what Shen is going to teach him (Similar to how we saw Kaneda and Ohma before the Kaneda vs. Hatsumi fight) Also I wouldn't rank Koga A yet, but top of B/Gatekeeper to A. We have some serious powerhouses in A and unless I see Koga beating someone in there I'm not putting him there, but I can see him doing some serious Damage in that Tier with this technique. At this Point in the series he technically has all the Tools he Needs to be an S Tier in the future, but he both lacks Stamina and Mastery of his Martial Arts. It is only bad because his growth is unnatural and no character in fiction has done this much off screen training (especially a main character) from F to A tier. That is just an unfortunate fact. It would have been better had we focused on Koga's training and not just half a chapter or a random panel here and there, once a year. Which given this chapter is fair? But still ridiculous when you start ranking every character in the verse in a tier list. Try it and you'll see how he is not there or should not be but this fight is telling us he is.
