And there are tons of builds with high mantra damage. So, Final verdict: HP is better
uh, tbh if you play chime at least on 1400 elo (1680 for me) most of the times you will fight against daggers/hero blades/warden or clubs, which is all low innate pen weapons which makes phys resist more vyable. + it always depends on your build cuz rn reinforcer armor + chaotic charm is meta so you will get 40 pen reduction and additional 10 phys resist (another 10 when low) + if we talking about fully min maxed phys resist set its about -50 hp but +17 phys which is in my opinion a lot better. also, as mentioned in the video, "healing" as flame wisp, bloodless gems and condtioned runner working better with less hp (but if you rlly care about those curved blade of winds military contractor builds with 60+ pen on theyr mantras go for 25 intelegence and get Everchanging Aegis). Also i hope most people understand that if you going for silentheart there is no need of thinking about mantras cuz of Dark ages (20 mantras resist) and 10% from silentheart its self + dread stucks. In conclusion, I would like to say that an extra 50-60 HP will not increase your survivability as much as an additional 17 physical resist will increase it because of not every player will spam his mantras that much, and most of dmg you will receive is still from m1s (also flame is not meta at all rn so f5uck that flame partisan and explosions lol)
Depending on ur outfit for eg (30% phys) Ur 17% physical from gear decreases by 30% So it would go to 11.9% Considering u have 500hp 12%= 60hp (physical only)

I feel like when calculating pen values that you should have used 400 hp instead of 500 because most builds ive seen without minmaxed armor only get up to 400 to 450 health, but even with the over estimation hp came out on top. Very cool video, i like the math, ill drop a sub.
i believe you should have a healthy balance of phys and hp, so that you have the all rounder (hp) that gives you more tankiness in all fights and phys for when your opponent is using a lot of m1s

And also people use mantras if they arent silenthearts So, Physical is good as like the side character pip on your armour Hp should be the main character
you forgot that we can also use mantras, on a situation that the enemy doesnt have all the dead gods but is a pen build, and youre a bloodless spammer with atleast 50% physical armor, youll have a lower hp to heal so in this senario resistance is better

your maths was awful but love the video and editing! to start with, it's actually 2.1%, not 2. base hp: 500 base resistance: 30% 2 pips of hp: 10, of armour 3% minimum (because we're not sheep and we grab both elemental and physical) 500/0.7 = 714.3 (your effective hp against a 0% pen weapon) HP: 510/0.7 = 728.6 (+14.3) Armour: 500/0.679 = 736.4 (+22.1) at around 35% pen however, HP becomes slightly better. (only if you're getting both elemental and physical instead of just physical though) this is why normal builds should grab a few pips in elemental/physical while reinforced armour builds can go ham. (most builds do not have above 40% pen, and even less 50%)

People will pick up pen yes, but they know approaching 50 is a waste, so they tend to stick under it (35-45) unless they get mtp (which most don't). Also, against reinforced armour 50% pen becomes 30%, meaning they need MTP to counter your armour now.

I disagree on one fact : *PVE* Has we all know PVE is a dominant playstyle of deepwoken and bosses such has ethrion doesn’t do magic or elemental damage has you call it BUT physical, same for most of other mobs such has the sharko who does both bleed and physically (i suppose ?) Of course some mobs do have atunements now and some mobs also deal blunt damage (golem) But if you are a person that does ethrion for exemple, going fully physical is the way to go has it heavily reduces the damage of the following : Laser, slam, bones, floor bones. The only thing you might be weak against are : Kirsguard (uses elemental i assume) Side note : the does physical damage so you do have defence against those mobs

If someone uses black diver and has a 3% resistance pip, you said they'd lose 30% of it, turning it into 2.1%. But wouldn't that make an armor that has 15% resistance give you more resistance, since that pip would only lose 15%?

I doubt I'll get a response, but with how current builds are slowly creeping up to 100% pen, even higher in some cases, do you think phys/elemental resistance should be specced into at all? Considering its also been five months since your RA video, I'd also like to ask if RA would be worth it if you could invest without wasting any attunement points?
The answer is to parry and take 0 damage so none of this matters lol. Jokes aside, elm is still almost never worth it, esp considering dark ages/everchanging aegis already exist which when combined with your armor makes you more than tanky enough, and mantra pen being very easy to get making elm resist pretty bad in the first place. Your question regarding high pen builds is valid however. I would say just as a general rule, go phys kit if you have RA, go hp if you don’t. 100% pen melee builds are often very gimmicky and can be exploited in other ways, they had to sacrifice other talents to even achieve that pen, so going phys and having it be bad against those builds once in awhile is not a huge deal, esp if they are running like berserk, just smoke them lol. Mantra pen on the other hand… is a completely diff story. It’s super easy to stack up, frankly just broken rn. If that’s what you are worried about I would definitely go for the hp kit.

TL;DR Phys --> 7 HP (unreliable, such as elemental damage, pen, and true damage) HP --> 5 HP (consistent and reliable) However, with a sustain build, Phys is most certainly superior. And this is the meta. In high level PVP, you will NEVER quick drop someone, the fight will always be several minutes long in a 1v1 between pros. More TL;DR Video super biased against Phys, already well known by all top players that phys is much better than HP because in MOST cases it'll be harder to deal with physical attributes rather than elemental attributes but that all is subjective to the player which is why it's unreliable. And if you noticed from paying attention, if you do the math PROPERLY, the bonus defense gain outweighs the loss from true damage attacks in MOST cases, (not all). Cheap Shot and Piercing Will are not very common. Also, Crippling Darkness is only elemental pen, not physical pen. The same goes with songchant. 3 Star DMG is most certainly more common than 3 Star Pen as well. Several invalid claims overall and although I love your editing style and execution + presentation, it was fundamentally and objectively biased. In terms of armor durability, that's definitely an issue but with armor conserver, or even better, armor conserver AND steadfast, paired with a high durability armor like Ignition Deepdelver, which happens to have ironsing armor. It's very clearly noted that this is an ACTUAL scenario of how a fight will probably end before your armor runs out USUALLY. However I rarely find this an issue, and mainly only metal enchant users with sustain builds pose a real threat.
Good analysis you are correct w the fact phys is better in some situations For example with alloyblood/reinforced armour And its impacted well by heals Hp keeps you more prepared for every situation The difference isnt to large Unless you are in a very long fight Hero blades, grans, curveds, elemental weapons Would be able to fight you much easier if u focus on phys And they are a good part of the meta Elemental also plays a role in dmg taken If you consider both sides Id say they are prettty evenly matched Phys would boost your hp slightly in certain fights While flat hp would help you against everyone Be it gran lava builds crypts or even silenthearts with bleed (since silents often have 50% pen) You know what is better for your own build depending on your playstyle and enemies Thanks for the support

Your phys resistance is amplified a good bit by ur reinforced armour And you have a ton of hp irrespective of ur phys I think youre fine no need to make changes

If someone uses black diver and has a 3% resistance pip, you said they'd lose 30% of it, turning it into 2.1%. But wouldn't that make an armor that has 15% resistance give you more resistance, since that pip would only lose 15%?

I doubt I'll get a response, but with how current builds are slowly creeping up to 100% pen, even higher in some cases, do you think phys/elemental resistance should be specced into at all? Considering its also been five months since your RA video, I'd also like to ask if RA would be worth it if you could invest without wasting any attunement points?
The answer is to parry and take 0 damage so none of this matters lol.
Jokes aside, elm is still almost never worth it, esp considering dark ages/everchanging aegis already exist which when combined with your armor makes you more than tanky enough, and mantra pen being very easy to get making elm resist pretty bad in the first place.
Your question regarding high pen builds is valid however. I would say just as a general rule, go phys kit if you have RA, go hp if you don’t.
100% pen melee builds are often very gimmicky and can be exploited in other ways, they had to sacrifice other talents to even achieve that pen, so going phys and having it be bad against those builds once in awhile is not a huge deal, esp if they are running like berserk, just smoke them lol.
Mantra pen on the other hand… is a completely diff story. It’s super easy to stack up, frankly just broken rn. If that’s what you are worried about I would definitely go for the hp kit.

TL;DR
Phys --> 7 HP (unreliable, such as elemental damage, pen, and true damage)
HP --> 5 HP (consistent and reliable)
However, with a sustain build, Phys is most certainly superior. And this is the meta. In high level PVP, you will NEVER quick drop someone, the fight will always be several minutes long in a 1v1 between pros.
More TL;DR
Video super biased against Phys, already well known by all top players that phys is much better than HP because in MOST cases it'll be harder to deal with physical attributes rather than elemental attributes but that all is subjective to the player which is why it's unreliable. And if you noticed from paying attention, if you do the math PROPERLY, the bonus defense gain outweighs the loss from true damage attacks in MOST cases, (not all).
Cheap Shot and Piercing Will are not very common. Also, Crippling Darkness is only elemental pen, not physical pen. The same goes with songchant. 3 Star DMG is most certainly more common than 3 Star Pen as well. Several invalid claims overall and although I love your editing style and execution + presentation, it was fundamentally and objectively biased.
In terms of armor durability, that's definitely an issue but with armor conserver, or even better, armor conserver AND steadfast, paired with a high durability armor like Ignition Deepdelver, which happens to have ironsing armor. It's very clearly noted that this is an ACTUAL scenario of how a fight will probably end before your armor runs out USUALLY. However I rarely find this an issue, and mainly only metal enchant users with sustain builds pose a real threat.

For example with alloyblood/reinforced armour
And its impacted well by heals
Hp keeps you more prepared for every situation
The difference isnt to large
Unless you are in a very long fight
Hero blades, grans, curveds, elemental weapons
Would be able to fight you much easier if u focus on phys
And they are a good part of the meta
Elemental also plays a role in dmg taken
If you consider both sides
Id say they are prettty evenly matched
Phys would boost your hp slightly in certain fights
While flat hp would help you against everyone
Be it gran lava builds crypts or even silenthearts with bleed (since silents often have 50% pen)
You know what is better for your own build depending on your playstyle and enemies
