Sums up my entire experience with this format. It literally feels like wins and losses are preordained. Doesn’t matter what the quality of my deck is. I usually end up losing to either mana screw/flood or one insane rare from my opponent.
If you have a spell that costs 2 mana of the same color you need at least 8 mana sources for that color. If you have a 5 casting cost spell you probably need 17 lands If you have a 6 casting cost spell you probably definitely need 17 lands (Assuming a 2 color 40 card deck)
@@christophersimon2218 I’ve adopted the rule of no mulligans unless absolutely necessary but I can see how I might need to loosen that rule in this set.
@@tachyonbeats i think it was the "professor" talking about mulligan once. And from then on i improved a lot in my win rate. Taking or not a mulligan is the moment you have most control about changing anything in the game. I lost a bit of the fear of mulligan and it went well with me. Though i absolutly dont like it. But a hand with 1 land or offcolor i won't keep, as well if the curve is horrendeous

I like the skelly in your deck. Fodder for Eaten Alive, comes back after Wrath, snacks for Ghoul.
Keep up the great work!
Ever since Foundations drop, the shuffler is acting up. Mana flood/screw is so apparent that someone might have just turned off the hand smoothing ...
Am I dumb or does 17 lands always seem like it's too many?
i only play 16

I went to day 2 with 16 lands. My thought progress in this set : lets mulligan a bit more if necessary but if it helps vs the flood we will take that.

49 minutes? oh no
That was sad. I mean the deck did not seem particularly strong imho but mana flood/screw is just bad.
