Dang. I tried and tried to get this song wide exposure when I was rockin' the decks on Sunday nights waaaay back in the day.Tried for weeks. I just couldn't get the crowd into this jam. I mean what's not to like? Many moons later?.... And STILL!!!! .....Great groove, heartfelt lyrics, and Eddie. What more could you ask for? Anyway, for my money, another of his many superb tracks. A great, great singer, straight up.

Eddie Kendricks is a Master Craftman whose music crossed and influenced many musical genres. When it comes to our women his depth musically is remarkable. His voice so touching and captivating. From his model like looks, his innovative persona, the lyrical content, his overall music and of course the appeal to women. HE IS A HALL OF FAMER! He went to the grave knowing that. Wish I could of met him so I could hug him and say Thanks Our children must learn about these heroes.

Wow......... man this song Makes me want to cry. Not because of the lyrics, even though those are some beautiful lyrics as well. However, its the Sound, the sounds alone. Just The sounds of it, the feeling of those sounds. It is all of the sounds that are coming out of this track. The sounds sound just so pure & natural. Such sounds that one just doesn't hear in music these days. This sounds "SO REAL" & that alone emphasizes all the beauty within it. I just played "come back home" by E.K. at least 13 times in a row & then I clicked on this one because, to be truthful I forgot all about it, but I have always loved this song the first time that I heard it. After 59secs in to this, it's got you; you tasted a peice of Heaven. Pure Delight. ( Next up on the E.K track list: "Then came you.")

Augustus you're right, a big difference in the soul music we love and music today is that all of these classics were recorded on tape. Digital (i.e Protools & etc) for all its clarity lacks soul, it sometimes can get close but not really. Live studio musicians recorded to tape is going to sound sonically better, especially with a great engineer.

It be nice if we can get the true story of what was going on with Eddie K career during the Motown years from the people who were there during that time.. A whole lot of truth in your comment. I always felt that things could have went in a better direction if Gordy's ego was better controlled. Paradise was an absolute hit in my opinion...although at that time they were considered the "hitless" Temps. Eddie will always be a leader Voice...along with David and Dennis. It was so awesome how those three teamed up during their last days. Thanks for your comment as I wholeheartedly agree.

I am 53 yrs old, this song was so hip back in the day and I find it hard to believe that it didn't get air play..this should have been a hit...I don't know what it was with Eddie Kendricks, he had marginal success after he left the tempts..Eddie just couldn't get the songs he wanted..this song is a classic example of what he was all about ..smooth and mellow lyrics..
