Thanks for making this video. I have 1992 CB400 NC31, the successor of this model, many parts the same, and its behaving the exact same way - no start despite decent spark and good battery voltage. I thought I'd cleaned the carbs but I'm going into them again after this. Meanwhile, let me first watch part two.
Thanks for the diagnostic video. Full choke is required for starting my CB-1. You should discuss choke function , handling petrol, and the importance of having a fire extinguisher nearby.
Thanks for the comment Rick. I really wanted to concentrate on the troubleshooting but yeah, full choke is normally required initially on these, I do talk a bit about petrol handling and mopping up any spills as you go and funnily enough there are fire extinguishers either side of the garage door but they are obscured by the bike
thank you for this video, when your trying to start the bike and its dying when you touch the accelerator is exactly what mine does i definitely need to flush the fuel system and clean the carbs. again big thank you for your videos keep up the awesome work!!
I'm having an issue with my CB-1 where after a carb rebuild by a third party the throttle is very stiff. It takes real effort to twist on, then sticks and needs to be twisted back to off. Any clues what might be the issue?
Could be a couple of things. Check that the breather in the fuel cap isn't blocked - when the bike dies, open the fuel cap and if you hear it sucking in air, that's your problem. The other thing to check is if your coils or ignition box are hot - that means they have an electrical fault & need to be replaced
Just looking at getting a CB1 and your video is so helpful to understand the inner workings of this beautiful beast - thank you!
Working on my 89 cb1 at the moment.
I’m glad I have found this channel.🇨🇦

Do you know if the NC23, your Bike and/or NC29 share a compatible Carburettor?

@@podspeeduk9271 I saw one of your extinguishers in the video. Perhaps, like me, you've learned they are cheap insurance. Lol.

Thanks Dominic, it does sound like a carb strip & clean is going to be required
Thank you for sharing, there is so little info on the CB-1
Would it be possible to fit NC31 carbs on NC27?

Hey, I have the same problem. You ever found out what the reason was?
