My Dad had a 1932 OM-28 that sadly he sold when I was about 8 or 9 and before I started to play, sure wish he had kept it. It was in much better condition that this one too.
You americans are so happy guys to have the chance to became your hands on these great guitars. The same with old tellies and so on. There are your fathers or grandfathers who played these guitars in the 30's,40's and 50's. No chance here in germany. I' m a bit jealous.😉 Thanks for all the great guitar stuff to Emerald City
That just maybe the nicest sounding Martin I’ve ever heard. Perfectly-balanced, articulate tone and loud without being boomy (which has always been my issue with dreadnoughts).
@Thomas Derriso I play a Martin D-18 Authentic. Nothing boomy with this guitar. Good one also for fingerpickings. But you' re right with D-28 tried a lot all sounded muddy and boomy.
Beautiful the sound of this collectable piece but at the same time feels like it should be in a museum and now I'm glad I've got Martin strings on my acoustic guitar 👌
Emerald City Guitars...YUK! Went in there (made a special trip) with cash in my pocket to buy an old L5. Was totally ignored. Checked out the L5. There was a small (5 man?) band practicing in the middle of the store. I waited until their song was finished. I should mention that there was not another person (sales staff, or customers) in the store. One band member looked up, and in a snotty voice snarled, "CAN I HELP YOU??" I said, "No... probably not." I and my cash left the store NEVER to return. Don't know who the jerk was, but he was playing a blonde Guild archtop.
The guitar sounded...... ‘“OK”. I’ve got a 2007 Eggle OM, made from yew wood/old German spruce, that would knock this guitar outta the park, probably costing less than he’s asking for his guitar’s case - if it’s original. And a Montouro Braz/Adi slope, that would rip your ears off - both no more than 12 years old. Unless you’re into collecting, save your money. There are builders out there that can make you a guitar every bit as sweet, if not way sweeter than this guitar. It’ll be your’s to grow with. You can tell everyone how “the dust on the G tuner really makes this guitar a one of a kind”.
Cool guitar but not a practical guitar to carry around to play on the street or in a park. Also there have been some incredible improvement made by modern day luthiers. Granted my Cello was built 250 years ago but Martins are not the same type of comparison.
I like the transperacy you guys have, it makes you more trust worthy
Emerald City Guitars is a fabulous place. Great gang working their. Knowledgeable, trustworthy and easy to work with.
That's a gorgeous guitar. It's pretty compact for anything but light guage strings... and that sound..💥💥💥
Amazing sounding guitar. Old wood offers full spectrum of sound.

I thought it was a bit muddy on the low. Not a big Martin guy so I'm probably a bit biased though.

if you just put your headphones that guitar sounds so rich and tasteful. Really nice video. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful guitar.
That's about as good as this type of guitar gets, flawless tone.

One more thing worth what ever you’re asking wow!!!
What a beauty
Guys what’s the song?? It sounds so cool
I wonder what the added pickguard looked like?
Nice sounding , not the best ever but very good. We should appreciate that an 87 year old instrument is still around and being played !
i can trade you some really good nachos for that? but i got to ask my mom first.
La guitarra acústica de mis sueños
I’ve been there!!
The music in the background while you r talking: why?
Aside the guitar, dig the hat. Anyone know what style it is ?
Hipster wear. com
🙄
Johnny Depp style
@@adamstewart247 lol 5 years later 😂
very nice song
Nice review, but why have electric rock as the background music for an iconic acoustic?
Definitely sounded like Ian was playing an acoustic version of bad romance for a hot second there
Great guitar i got a late eighties yamaha with gigbag I'll trade u for it
Norm's Rare Guitars needs to step up its production quality!
I wonder how much that baby costs
Blake B $39,500, on the board at the end
my cheap yamaha also sounds the same
Lol. Sure, bud. Lol
I wonder if I could swap my wife for that guitar 🤔
nice video but could do without the background noise

Wow! That sounded... just... just... just... completely average. USD40k for something totally unremarkable.
We have a Mellennial in the building. Play a prewar in person ya knuckle. Fucking keyboard deaf warrior.
