I removed the entire assembly that was bolted under the hood scoop. Made my own air diverter with stick on foam straps on the IC. Got to be at the right height to stop air leaking
@@georgeg3897 I too would love to see a video or pic of what you have done? About to do same thing and have read numerous people removing the bonnet mounted air diverter removed for better cooling. Thanks
Did by hand and then slightly tightened up with a socket wrench. Checked again after 2 weeks of driving and still solid. Now over a year . Still tight and did not have to re tighten .
Seems to be slightly more torquey in the higher gears and the throttle response is better. Have an open neck air filter and bigger bore free flowing exhaust which has improved the drive tremendously
@@georgeg3897 first intercooler I bought they welded the tabs upside down so I couldn’t screw it down, second intercooler I purchased didn’t fit correctly, they would hit the spark plug wires / boots and wouldn’t sit down enough to be level with the super charger horns
@@waterlover sorry to hear that. I purchased from the below link. The only sligh issue I had, was that the inlet was very slightly small, so there was a slight gap when you slipped on the rubber boot. Wasn't a good seal. Packed this with some silicon tape and made a very good seal after that. Clearance between spark plug leads is tight but it does clear them. However, I am running bespoke uprated HT leads , so don't know if they sit slightly lower .
@@georgeg3897 I think your sparks fit lower mine have a square type base before the actual wire, mine are NGK wires so they have a huge base before the wire. Might have to trim the rubber in the base part so they can bend a tad bit more. I’ll be getting a new intercooler hopefully by end of next week see if I can finally get a good product. The last intercooler I just sent was all painted but the paint quality was horrible so I sent it back, emailed the seller and asked for a refund since his post showed a polished intercooler and got a nasty painted used one.
too bad you didnt show the car running after the update .... my guess is that a thicker wider intercooler make less perfomance since a superchager worker better with higher air flow and i bet your update is also making the winning sound less loud . overall its a bad upgrade to do ... no offense
Did you ever have to mess around with the hood scoop?

how much did you torque the intercooler brackets_

I would not recommend to over torque it
