Thank you I learned something new about aligning the run between fill by going in the same direction as the fill to sink and hide the run. Beautiful alternative to the final cleanup of cutting jumps after the stitch out. Nice to save a few minutes that can be used for something more productive or taking a break with confidence.
John, I am new to Hatch Embroidery Software, but I love each one of the videos I've watched. You are definately an expert at what you do. Thanks for always taking the time to teach us.
Oh this is going to be a lot to learn as you go type things. Sometimes I wish there were more objects to see on this. A plethora of different shapes. This is very good to know. Thank You 👏
something that i want to mention i had a similar design, well many similar designs. i find that i have to put the border directly after the fill, before the detailing inside. sometimes the detailing pushes the fill wider than the border.
LOVED IT, how ever I have a couple of comments: 1) I would've love to have a close up to the final result and 2) I do not like the running between shapes showing, so please assist with the correct option, should I place trims or let it jump and the cute the stitch off??
Thank you! This video is so informative. I am going to try to redo one of the logos that I digitized. The digitizing software I have is MasterWorks II.
Thank you for the lesson. I have a similar issue with my design so I did everything you explained in this video; however, when my machine is embroidering the design it still trims after every travel stitch and fill. How do I fix that I’m sure it’s an easy fix but I don’t know how to do that. Thanks I’m advance.
Hey John I’m hoping you can help I’m having trouble with the old English font the only stitch I can get away with is tatami without it threading up at the bobbin part I also want to do a border It’s a patch and the fabric I’m using one sided adhesive x2 and duck cloth.
When traveling from one object to the next, are you using the last node from first object? It looks lke you are just placing it in the center. I realize these little dots are small, but was wondering about larger objects too. Thank for all your help.
Hi Sandie... I know what you are saying! I'm not familiar with 'this' software, but firstly, basically, he's moving the new 'Lines' object, (basically just running stitches), to place them in the sewing order before the particular 'blobs'/'dots' so they don't show on top of those 'dots'. But, they have to exit somewhere after the 'dot' is filled with satin!! This happens at a level beyond what he was explaining though... Each 'Object' being filled with stitches, has a Start & End point. Often, with most software, you can manually view/edit those points, however the software can automatically determine those points too! So, for instance, if a circle is being filled, and the exit point is at the top while filling left to right, it will fill the left half, then auto add a few running stitches to the far right, and then finish off by back-filling the rest of the object to the left, until back at the middle where it now finishes! Then the next step will sew away from the 'top', without showing unwanted stitches above the object!! (Sounds confusing). Even slowing down the video won't help, due to the frame-rate... You've probably noticed while embroidering, that the machine seems to stop filling some shape/area, go and do some other lines/areas, & then come 'back' to it?? That is why... due to the Start/Stop points being modified, to get rid of, (or minimize) jumps & trims!! Glenn. Western Australia. 😎👍 P.S... Keep in mind too, that for larger areas of fill, the 'Under-Sewing' is important too. So 'behind-the-scenes', it's automatically worked out how to do that, and also taking in to account the 'true' start and end points for the particular final 'fill', including the stipulated/desired 'directions'.
Hi! Viewed this video last night and love the way you digitize. I could not/can not understand why digitizers jump all over the design when (mapping, I think its called) digitizing a design. I have a flatbed, single needle and it drives me crazy when I get someone to digitize a design for me and jump stitches are all over. Hope to be able to take your class soon! Please check your messages, I would be very appreciative of a reply.
I don't have audio at the moment so I can't listen to this while you do it, but is there not a way to just move the start/stop position of each segment to optimize jump stitches on Hatch? (rather than creating two-stitch runs like you did between the ovals in the paw)
this is amazing but i want to know if you can teach to digitize high end hand done lookalike embroidery. I want to work as an embroidery digitizer please help
Hi John....I'm on 30 days trial version using this software. How did you get the number of 32 little circles from circle layout tool so quickly? Please advice
Hello John How can I get in contact with you ? I just got a zsk sprint 5 and it just won't finish a design. Thread breaks, tangles, etc. Could it be the design.? I've been using all pre-made design from Hatch software.
Hi John firstable i wan to say thank you for your time doing this videos but this digitizing is a pain for me i don't know how to do it. I try and try but nothing. I got a Ricoma embroidery machine and i like it but the digitizing part it make me mad. The software that i got is Chroma inspire software from Ricoma. But i think is the cheapest one. And this software cost to much money how can i get a good software for DST format. Thank you so much
Hatch is a Wilcom product that is not expensive compared to its commercial counterpart and provided the same quality results. You can download a 30 full featured trial at our site, we have lots of support and education to help users get past the learning curve. www.digitizingmadeeasy.com
this is the best channel for learning how to digitize designs for embroidery! John thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us
Thank you

My pleasure Barbara, glad you're learning and happy I can share this beautiful art form :) Appreciate the kind words
Such an informative video! I learned quite a bit watching this. I've been tossing around learning to digitize my own designs and this really helped.
Wow. That’s very inform-able
Digitizing is an art...one i must master! I have been digitizing and trying to avoid run stitches...lol
You got this!
Oh this is going to be a lot to learn as you go type things. Sometimes I wish there were more objects to see on this. A plethora of different shapes. This is very good to know. Thank You 👏
I learn so much from you, thank you.
That was an amazing example of good vs great digitizing!
You are amazing teacher!
Silvina Ladyrider thanks for the kind words :)
something that i want to mention
i had a similar design, well many similar designs.
i find that i have to put the border directly after the fill, before the detailing inside.
sometimes the detailing pushes the fill wider than the border.
you are a god of embroidery
LOVED IT, how ever I have a couple of comments: 1) I would've love to have a close up to the final result and 2) I do not like the running between shapes showing, so please assist with the correct option, should I place trims or let it jump and the cute the stitch off??
very clever. thank you for the video. it was really helpful
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic video can you please tell me which software you used for digitizing
Brilliant, you make it look so easy, thank you for this tutorial.
i met someone that showed me the technique you used with the hidden underlay around the dots.
he called it "strategic underlay"
This was amazing. My only issue is the stitches between each piece of the dog paw. Maybe I need to relax about these.
Thank you! This video is so informative. I am going to try to redo one of the logos that I digitized. The digitizing software I have is MasterWorks II.
Good video thanks

Hi John....I'm on 30 days trial version using this software. How did you get the number of 32 little circles from circle layout tool so quickly? Please advice
Damon Do I digitized the first one, selected it and used the circle tool within Layout in the toolboxes.
@@EmbroideryLegacy what if it has 50 circles instead of 32. How did you change the number of circle? Thank you
John....where do I find all your lessons? Learned a few things today.....thank you!
Hi Ruth, so happy to hear that, thank you! Here's a link to my lessons: digitizingmadeeasy.com/e-classroom/digitizing/
Hi John, I have Hatch and there is a section called "Branch". Could that be used on the little dots to tie them together?
why didnt you add the green "connector" stitches to the first circle and then x32 both objects together? would be less work right :)
What is underlay? Could you please explain it .
feels like a free science video lol

Would you not trim the stitches between the paw pads?
I left the stitches to avoid too many jumps & trims, which can cost money especially when production digitizing :)
Does it matter what embroidery machine you have for your lessons?
hi, do you also teach digitizing ? if yes , then please sent the details.
Hi Tahir :) I do offer online interactive lessons! Here's a link with more information www.digitizingmadeeasy.com/e-classroom/digitizing/
