I laughed so hard when you said “let a man spend his money the way he wants to”. Chris we all appreciate you and give us the hands on feel of the knife in your videos. Huge LT Wright fan here. Great work chief!
Several months ago, upon Your delight with L T, I went to an outdoor show where the L T Guys were at. Got a hand on a few of their knives & I was all weirded out, so I left to men's room for a period of time. I left the show wanting, but had to calm down until next show when I purchased 2 & OH My !!! What a grip !!! Then to use !!! Unreal !!!! More so than any Mora, people need to get a Hand on a LT Wright Blade !!! "OMG !!" Its like a high level custom knife @ closer to mass production pricing !!!! Salute !!!
Mark.... Beautiful blade. Brass pin accents...doesn't get much better then that. Personal note Chris.. Damn near purchased a CFP-90 back pack until I ran a cross review stating that the yoke to the shoulder straps wasn't of a good design. Still searching...
I have already put an order for Trekker (along with a WC, Two BRKT, and a Helle) but man this is best of LT in bushcraft field. I fell for it. Outback will wait in my very first wish list.
Another beautiful LT Wright! I've got my GNS and Great Plainsmen so it's hard for me to break out another wad of cash but Lord knows it's tempting. Couldn't agree more about having one or two heirloom quality knives. Buy once, cry once.
"Pride of ownership" , true ! Thinking back I was 14 years old and wanted a Puma White Hunter , "puma-steel" , this was 1968. I looked at my knife drawer , I had the price roughly there, but all crummy knives , I neared down saved , I was a caddy at a country club. Never looked back on trying to get to quality for nothing. Nice review !
For a knife that i can do almost everything with I dont mind spending the money. When it comes to my large knives and choppers I like Condor, that way if it breaks or is damaged I can easily replace it.
Nice Knife!! I use the Ka-Bar Big Brother alot or the Ka-bar Mark 1. I don't think you have ever reviewed the Big Brother? I think you would like it but hate the serrations like I do.
Love me some Lt Wright and I love me some cpm 3v looks like I may need to try and score one of these. I picked up a Patriot a few months back and I love it I still need to do my review on it but it's a winner for what I use it for. Always love your vids you always help me decide on what fixed blade I want next. Well hope your having a great day.
I saw this thing last week and thought to myself. The Genesis and the GNS had a love child and it came out in 3v. I got mine and NOW HAVE MY NEW FAVORITE! Seems to have a little higher scandi than my Genesis , which to me is perfect 👌. LT and DLT hit this one out of the park !👍👍I wish I would've known to ask for my pm101 sticker though. Lol . Oh well I guess that gives me a reason to get me one of those 3v Jessmucks! Keep up the great vids Chris.
Side note completely unrelated to the video, i know you love your work sharp knife sharpeners but i think I've found one that tops them. The brand is ts-prof its a fixed angle knife sharpener and i have never seen a knife as sharp as one coming off of this system maybe you should give them a look @preparedmind101
G'day Chris, what would be the most expensive knife you have reviewed ? A little while back I ordered 2 Rat 7's with the TKC handle and sheath upgrades ( one for my son ). $487.00 Australian landed at my door. I thought that was good value as a standard Rat 7 here in Oz is around $240 Australian.
Looks great! I still love my Genesis and that will do for me. I can't buy every knife I want although I wish I could. But, I know that Outback is good....
Seeing as I'm not rolling in money, I use the Buck Selkirk "Bush craft" Knife. If I where to buy an LTWK outback. Is it a lifer, or one to pass down through the generations? Sweet knife, better feather sticks. Keep pumping out the Great videos.
I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on an Outback because it seems a lot similar to the Scaaty Crafter which didn't seem to suit me very well. I'll probably get one just because, but I already know the Genesis will always be my favorite lol. The jx2 being my second favorite. The tapered broomstick handle of the Genesis seems to work better for me than contoured handles, and for a big blade, I have a Genesis G3 Prototype. Great first impression vid, Chris! ~Jon
For the money...Looks like just another sub 5 inch bushcraft blade. Reminds me of a shorter Sospes which I own and love. Plus the O1 tool steel is easier to sharpen in the field.
That is quite a jewel, along with the majority of $100+ knives. I like it, but I'm not getting one - for me, it's Schrade, Kershaw and other similarly budget blades were I to pay it from my own pocket. I wouldn't refuse a gifted premium custom-made, but "sheath queen" doen't sit right with me, and I'd beat it senseless in everyday usage. [skips outta town at top speed before being immolated for heresy]
Is it really THAT difficult to click ONE link placed in the description box that contains all that information? Not to mention shows you current prices and handle options?
That is one expensive sticker, but if it holds an edge and has a strong spine... Just kidding. The knife looks and acts solid . Great at holding an edge. It batoned like a champion. But for the price it should. There is no question it will sell. There is always a clientele for higher priced knives and even ones who find the price to steep but will come up with the money because they really want one.
LTWK outback is a piece of heave its quality not like less quality knifes. you have to hold it to understand it...WOW...., thanks Chris Tanner for this review.
Field sharpening 3v is a NIGHTMARE!!!!! Ita a great steel tough holds a great edge but once it starts to dull or gets dull very hard to sharpen in the field if you don't keep up on it.
as a comparison, car guys will spend huge sums on old vehicles, and then more to radius them back to factory specs, and drive a Mazda around town to avoid putting miles on their baby. same thing with knife guys. women do the same thing. gotta have the coach handbag or the lululemon leggings that are 10 times what they have to spend for a generic equivalent and those things aren't hand made. Ask them sometime what a handmade shoe costs. makes an LT look like a budget item
Funny how people will spend $50K on a vehicle that absolutely will depreciate quickly and scream at $200+ for a good knife that can be passed on to the next generation. I do understand that not everyone can afford this knife, but I will get me one. Well Done.
My wife said she don't like you for that comment. Lol I told her " Shut up Lady, Chris is right. If it was up to you I'd have to buy my knife from the Damn Dollar Tree. Lol"
I laughed so hard when you said “let a man spend his money the way he wants to”.

Looks just like the Ontario Blackbird SK5. That one's about $100 made from 154CM. Great knife & affordable.
I think it's really a perfect camp, hike,or what ever,it's awsome
I like the familiar things in Chris's videos - the stump and the shed. When he strays into the woods I get anxious😵.
I have already put an order for Trekker (along with a WC, Two BRKT, and a Helle) but man this is best of LT in bushcraft field. I fell for it. Outback will wait in my very first wish list.
I'm lovin' my new Outback! Black G-10 with white liners... oh yeah. Thanks Chris!
That's a good lookin blade. That sheath I agree, is allowing the blade to sit to deep. But it's definitely a blade for the collection
Love the lighthearted humor in this video Chris! 👌🏼
That is a visibly pleasing knife.
You've really paid attention to visit positioning the shed in the video frame 😀.
I'm looking, and wondering "Why not a Genesis", but then I saw the handle. The Genesis wasn't my favorite handle, but the GNS handle is dandy!
Great design, looking at the saber grind version. Thanks for the demo.
Another beautiful LT Wright! I've got my GNS and Great Plainsmen so it's hard for me to break out another wad of cash but Lord knows it's tempting. Couldn't agree more about having one or two heirloom quality knives. Buy once, cry once.
great video just FYI The PH doesnt do customs every year. they have the past 2 years, but won't be doing it for 2017.
+Chris Rice Dang

Chris thanks for creating Preparedmind 101 I also like all the knives you show on your channel! Keep up the awesome work you do on your channel!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. What a beautiful knife. I would absolutely purchase it in a Scandi grind as opposed to the saber grind.
Chris besides knife steel, it reminds me of LTW's sospes. I am sure it's a great knife reguardless.
+rehorst180 Will's knife is much bigger.
I can see that is the case. The shape and knive geometry just looked real close. Keep the informative content coming Chris.
For a knife that i can do almost everything with I dont mind spending the money. When it comes to my large knives and choppers I like Condor, that way if it breaks or is damaged I can easily replace it.

Thanks Chris. That looks like an incredible knife!

If you went on Alone and couldn't bring a knife of your own design, what would your choice be?
Can you do a comparison video between this Outback and the Illuminous 5?
Definitely going to pick one up. Thanks
Nice knife.cpm3v. Hummmm..Jessmuk in 3v,wow.Great video Chris..Right On.
It looks like a miniature Sospese... I bet Will would like it a lot.
Great video. Can't believe I actually got a knife before you did a video on it. Got the saber to try as I have a Scandi GNS in 3V. Pout House rocks!!!
I saw this thing last week and thought to myself. The Genesis and the GNS had a love child and it came out in

+Anthony Butler I will
Awesome if nothing else, its support for a smaller company, and the build quality is top notch.
You should do some video for watch for survival.
Thanks
Looks great! I still love my Genesis and that will do for me. I can't buy every knife I want although I wish I could. But, I know that Outback is good....
Yeah Awesome Thank you Chris!!
good lookin' knife.....scandi Kephart style with improved handle...!!
you should do a review on the Western Black River titanium bonded knife and do you know anyone who's makes scout style sheath for this knife
it's only $16 and has a nice rubberized handle and is full tang
Beautiful knife and I'm also a 3V fan. Glad your doing more vids with LivingSur, I enjoyed the last one.
Hey Tanner, ever think about doing a throwing knife vid? love your work man keep it up
+alex s That's Bryan's Dept
PREPAREDMIND101 I know it is haha just saying it would be cool to watch you make a intro throwing knife lesson. Keep doing what you do
So.... you want to learn how to disarm yourself..???
He did do the Survival on Purpose test and throw the perserverance survival knife....:)
Nice knife!

Jess X, Leave it to tha Chopper.
I think it's great you edc a fixed blade
I'm guessing you meant to say .13 instead of .31 for the blade thickness?
+Argonzification D. prob. Did I dyslex-it? I'm not redoing it. People will figure it out
Great knife, would like to have one.
If you don't mind me asking...what kind of coat is that? I really like that coat! (Jacket)
Awwwhh man i was about to pull the trigger on a GNS now idk what you think Chris
JESSEHIGGINS507 I have a GNS in 3V and it's awesome. It's been my main belt knife for a little over a year now, but man is this blade tempting.
Is yours scandi
No, it's a Saber grind.
+JESSEHIGGINS507 I don't have a GNS anymore.
where's part 2 I can't wait any longer lol... u the man Chris!!!
The Pout House is awesome!!
I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on an Outback because it seems a lot similar to the Scaaty Crafter which didn't seem to suit me very well. does that one have a secondary bevel? nice video chris
how thick is the handle girth wise and length wise compared to the gns?
That is quite a jewel, along with the majority of $100+ knives. [skips outta town at top speed before being immolated for heresy]
Awesome grind!
Do you now if DLT will be getting more in or is it a limited run?
what brand is your ferro rod? if you dont mind
Awesome knife!
how about s35 for the jx6 ?
Genesis with gns handle?
How would you suggest to sharpen that knife with diamond stone or????
+bushcrfter791 I can use a Worksharp Ken Onion Blade Grinder or a 8"-12" ceramic rod and a strop.
I know it will be a great knife, so i ordered one, thanks Chris.
That is Nice!! Another LT model I need in my life ;) Thanks for showing it off Chris.
great knife
You should always have the knife specs in description of every new knife video you do.
Is it really THAT difficult to click ONE link placed in the description box that contains all that information? Not to mention shows you current prices and handle options?
Didn't Joe Flowers already design that knife?
+srvctek1 sigh. How so?
PREPAREDMIND101 Is called the Condor Bushlore and it costs around $30 , but it isn't super steel so you can't stab superman with it. ☺
A genesis blade on a GNS handle, looking good dudes
Would have to agree that it has a huge price tag, what exactly can this do that a knife a quarter of the price cannot?
+ausdigr Called it.
I have the impression that I have seen an eagle similar to the blade eagle somewhere else...
I like this knife. I'm sold. Thanks.
Can pre order the 3v jessmuck??
+chuckt796 You're not allowed to have one now. You committed the sin of adding a "C".
Email DLT. They might let you. IDK
kephart
Where is your second review?
+Gary Maston I only got it back less than a week ago and the kids are on spring break.
9:06 Peter Griffin laugh :D
really wish i could afford a knife like this
Thanks for that message to my wife because I really want this one
high 5!
I wish I could afford this knife I've been eyeballing it since day one on dlt
It's a really good and beautiful knife but a bit tooo expensive...

Make it FFG and you have a Kephart.
I like it.
lol I told my wife what you said, she wants to have a word with yours. great video by the way.
as a comparison, car guys will spend huge sums on old vehicles, and then more to radius them back to factory specs, and drive a Mazda around town to avoid putting miles on their baby. same thing with knife guys.

Beautiful knife! Just bit to expensive for my budget...single father of four...eventually I'll have one 😉
that's a beast
What part of Arkansas?
Dang that a sexy lookin blade
I'm still loving my TOPS BOB. :)
3/16" is 0.1875" not 0.31".
Ha! Found it....nice...
Very nice.for those who know how save $ for the extras.
