LT Wright is one of my favorites. To compare grinds I actually purchased two SOSPES... one Scandinavian and one saber. Also O1 vs 3V. For Scandinavia grinds I prefer O1.
Chris of prepared mind 101 I like you're video's you put a knife using it the way it's meant to be used. I'm 61 and have owned quite a few knives over the year's please keep up the good work
"The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten" Henry Royce , the rolls Royce guy. Save your loot and buy the best , I learned that when I was 14 yeRs old. Very nice Chris.
Tops knives in 1095 are bulletproof. Their heat treat, quality of manufacture, amazing. Chris was the first reviewer I got into. He introduced me to Brother Tac, we all juggle knives, gideon's tactical, every day tactical vids, on and on. Regarding cpm-3v, I bought a bark river Crusader, three days later I bought another one. Edge doesn't chip under extreme use. It rolls, if you abuse it. After 2 hours working on it, it rolled back. LT Wright, Bark river and Tops, SOLD!
I have this blade with a saber grind and brown rustic micarta scales. I sent mine out to have a custom kydex sheath made for it from AZ Welke, so that way I could carry it scout style. It has become one of my favorite belt knives.
I recently received an LT Wright Bushcrafter in 3V. and I have to say, I was amazed at how much it really does change the performance of the blade. also, you talk about the spine, I swear that spine was sharper than some knife edges I have seen right out of the box. in my review, I had a hunk of madrone ( VERY hard wood, especially older dry pieces like I had) I was shaving some fluff with the spine, and talking at the same time, when I looked down, I had shaved a knot down smooth.
I've got the LTWK GNS in saber grind and it's sweet. LT's saber grinds are great for carving and splitting. Crazy sharp and super durable. Can't go wrong with a LT Wright Knife.
I got mine in a few weeks ago. I put a higher convex secondary bevel on it. This knife is the one for me. I have a bunch of barkys, which I love still, and this outback has the best handle for my hands (size L/XL depending on brand). It feels closer to the bravo 2 gen 2. Love the convex I put on this knife. It now has a more stable edge and it's more versatile in that it acts both like a scandi or a flat grind when you want it to. Awsome!!
3v has been my favorite steel for quite a few years now. I think the only steel that might take it's place after I get a blade in this steel is Cruwear but I don't know yet. My favorite knife is in 3v. It's the Bark River SOG bowie. Of course is considered a combat knife but I was surprised how versatile it actually is. I can take down small saplings, baton the toughest of woods and do very fine task like feather sticks, traps and carving eat utensils. I thought the guard would get in the way when choking up on the blade to do fine work but the guard is short enough not to dig into your hand but long enough so your hand has no chance of sliding onto the blade. You can also hold the blade with your pointer finger on the spine, finger next to the pointer under the ricasso and your thumb on the side of the blade in front of the guard. This grip is perfect for this knife to help skin animals after you gut them. Its not ideal for any of these task but it works surprisingly well compared to other combat knives.
Well Chris I WAS going to get the Jessmuk but you had to go and show me this one. Oh well I guess maybe I have room for both. Those white spacers really set that thing off, beautiful.
Good to see makers taking my criticism to heart and creating a knife with a more versatile blade shape , the best tool steel for the money (forget 01 and d2), some choil to protect your hand from slipping onto the edge, and grippier micarta. I never get credit for these things. Anyway.......
See this is why I bought this knife, because of your former video on the Scandi. The ergo's the look and I dig Sabre Grinds. Now to watch the video. And kydex compliments of Gary. Also as per your recommendation
Chris - you mentioned the Bark River Bravo 1 in passing during the Outback review. How would you compare the two? Do you have preference for one vs. the other? Lew
Lt.Wright makes some awesome knives . My favorite is the boat tail scandi and the Lagom bush knife.By the way; what ferro rod was that you used Chris? Thanks
She’s a beaut Clark! Love spear points, and I really love how “tall” the blade is, but now that I have a proper edge on my Bark River Bushcrafter, I don’t think I’ll be switching it out for anything for a bit.
Nice knife Chris ...reminds me of my Benchmade Bushcrafter 162...speaking of which do you think maybe you could check one of those out and maybe do a comparison vid?
I’m just wandering do you ever still edc the smith and Weston Shield and you should do a new video on the bk7 because you haven’t done one in a long time and I still love mine and I think everyone else to know how truly awesome it is.
Beautiful. Chris are the tee shirts your're selling through bonfire right now a type where we should order a size larger than normal? It has 8 days left. Curious, thanks.
There's nothing wrong with a saber grind, it's a good, tough all purpose grind. 3V is a great steel but it's a real pain in the ass to field sharpen. I recently picked up an LT Wright Genesis in a saber grind with A2 steel, maple handles and solid brass pins at TKC - it's become my favorite belt knife for doing pretty much everything. It was a little pricey but well worth it IMO.
Looks just about the same as a Survive Knives GSO series. Right down to the steel choice. Probably easier to get though. Not hating here. I have 2 LT Wright knives myself.
Hello, beautiful video, congratulations! one question, What kind of grind is more versatile, multitasking and resistant, full flat or scandi? many thanks!
Javier- my opinion is that a saber gives you the most "all-round". There are probably videos discussing the pros and cons of the grinds. I like a convex or scandi-vex for my uses. For versatility and strength, most will say saber grind.
Saber vs, Scandi? I have a Condor plus two Moras (Eldris and not sure). I wanted to save up to get an Esee but should I save up to get an LTWK instead and if so what are their top 2 or 3 designs? Please keep mixing it up. Someone like me will start with a $20 Mora then a $40 Condor and then maybe a $200 LTWK or I might stop at $40 but this is a process for most of us. What I can't stand is cheap junk from the 99 cent store videos unless that person does an overnight with that stuff.
Just ordered one. Was looking for a convex kephart style but this looks like it fits the bill. Have the forest trail scandi spearpoint in 3v but really excited for this
I love the review and appreciate you not editing out human mistakes like using the ferro rod. Bottom line the knife and the ferro rod did it's job flawlessly. Perhaps the wood was a bit damper than you expected. Keep up the good reviews!
i think most people just do not like the handle as much... i have used one and compared to alot of other "bushcraft" knives its not very comfortable for hard/heavy wood work.. it is a very nice knife though.
I agree with having to buy a 3V knife before you bash people that do buy expensive knives. I bought my first knife because of your videos ; the Becker BK7. And I loved that knife but I decided after about 2 years of use on that, to get a Bark River Bravo 2.....and my mind was blown by 3V. Thanks for the vids man, keep em coming.
Man I really have to stop watching your channel! I'm getting too many knives! Haha well I guess now that I just bought one of these I can sale my others.
DONT GET ME WRONG,,ALL THE KNIVES YOU SHOW ARE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL,,,BUT THE PRICE IS CRAZY,,,SHOW US SOME BEAUTIFUL 100.00 KNIVES OR LESS,,,SERIOUSLY,WE WILL ALL JUMP ON THEM MAN,,,IVE GOT 3 KIDS AND IM A BLADE FREAK,,THANKS FOR THE TIME
I hate to make a negative comment but you look like a Ferro rod newb. You are not using the end, and you are starting up high, wearing it down unevenly. I know you aren't a newb.
LT Wright is one of my favorites. To compare grinds I actually purchased two SOSPES... one Scandinavian and one saber. Also O1 vs 3V. For Scandinavia grinds I prefer O1.
Which grind did you prefer overall? The scandi or saber?!
Chris of prepared mind 101 I like you're video's you put a knife using it the way it's meant to be used. I'm 61 and have owned quite a few knives over the year's please keep up the good work

Chris your first impression reviews are genuine and awesome especially when like you say you can be genuinely surprised by a product live.
Tops knives in 1095 are bulletproof. Their heat treat, quality of manufacture, amazing. Chris was the first reviewer I got into. Check out the L.T. Wright "Forest Trail" sabre in 3V. Its right up your alley... (The Knife Connection exclusive, btw.)

Michael Taylor Cruwear is pretty awesome.

I like both versions, definitely both are badass.
See this is why I bought this knife, because of your former video on the Scandi. The ergo's the look and I dig Sabre Grinds. Now to watch the video. And kydex compliments of Gary. Also as per your recommendation
Saber grind is good for batoning and splitting wood camp fire..
Chris - you mentioned the Bark River Bravo 1 in passing during the Outback review. How would you compare the two? Do you have preference for one vs. the other? Lew
chris, have u thought about trying the nbs from diving sparrow knife works, I think you'd like it even tho it's 1095 steel.
Lt.Wright makes some awesome knives . My favorite is the boat tail scandi and the Lagom bush knife.By the way; what ferro rod was that you used Chris? Thanks
Just ordered one in Scandi do you prefer the saber grind?
What a great looking blade. I really like the overall shape and profile of the blade and handle. Great review man.
Awesome looking knife. Ya gotta love LT's work.
If you can’t afford LT wright cold steel makes a good 3V too.
This will go good with my JX5!! Kydex sheath for both
The Outback looks awesome. I wonder though, what sets it apart (makes it better or worse) than a Genesis besides the type of steel?
The handle is completely different than the Genesis. Blade is the same or similar, but the Genesis grip is a very simple "broom handle" type.
I really like the look of that on only if it was a full flat grind
I’m just wandering do you ever still edc the smith and Weston Shield and you should do a new video on the bk7 because you haven’t done one in a long time and I still love mine and I think everyone else to know how truly awesome it is.
Beautiful. Chris are the tee shirts your're selling through bonfire right now a type where we should order a size larger than normal? It has 8 days left. Curious, thanks.
G.R, Dray I'd order as big as they come
PREPAREDMIND101 Thanks Chris. I appreciate you getting back to me..
Wow. Oh my goodness. Lol. You old dog you. Great knives. Very interested in trying out the saber compared to the scandi I have used.
Can you explain the differences in these grinds you refer to in this video?
Beautiful utilitarian knife!
Looks just about the same as a Survive Knives GSO series. Right down to the steel choice. Probably easier to get though. Not hating here. I have 2 LT Wright knives myself.
Was looking for this comment :). Yep, looks exactly like the S!K GSO 4.1 gen 1. Interesting that DLT 'designed' it also ;)
Do you prefer this over your GNS?
Another awesome vid chris i really like the looks of that blade how easy or hard is the 3v to sharpen in the field just wondering?
I don't think so. If you just stay up on it, it's no biggie. I've never had an issue sharpening 3V.
What is the other sabre ground knife you were comparing this one to?
Were have you been have not seen any of your video s in a while .
Hello Chris, awesome review of this quality knife. Thank you for sharing. I'm saving for it.
Hello, beautiful video, congratulations! one question, What kind of grind is more versatile, multitasking and resistant, full flat or scandi? many thanks!

Love your videos!
U and Cedric and ada are the onley people to review the saber version I’m surprised this isn’t more popular
Thx for the review. Question-how do you compare your jessmuk with the habilis bush tool?
Maureen Leahy I don't.
Looks very close to the BHK smoky mountain razor… 🤔
Did they ever do a cpm3v Sospes?
Is that a flare saber or convex?
Chris, another great Review!
Saber vs, Scandi?
I have a Condor plus two Moras (Eldris and not sure).

I really want this knife, but wow the price. This one may be in my bucket list for a while.
BeAuuuuTifuL piece of steel right ThuR
The blade looks like bk2. But still looks very nice
Just ordered one. Was looking for a convex kephart style but this looks like it fits the bill.
Have the forest trail scandi spearpoint in 3v but really excited for this
Thanks for the info brother I wish I could try a knife like that
I love the review and appreciate you not editing out human mistakes like using the ferro rod. Bottom line the knife and the ferro rod did it's job flawlessly. Perhaps the wood was a bit damper than you expected. Keep up the good reviews!
Rained earlier that day.
PREPAREDMIND101 , that's what I thought. Have a good one.
My guy you would look great bald, also interesting knife, LT Write has some awesome stuff.
Try the Benchmade bushcrafter..
This knife looks very similar to the BM bushcrafter but becaueits s30v, these survivalists dont care for it.
i think most people just do not like the handle as much... i have used one and compared to alot of other "bushcraft" knives its not very comfortable for hard/heavy wood work.. it is a very nice knife though.
Really awesome knife video! ^w^
Is this a hint that your next knife is going to be sabre ground???
It is. Devv-X is saber/convex edge
Awesome!!!
Outback or Genesis? Choose 1.
I️ have 4 genesis and this in saber is probably the best all around knife out there.
Looks like a Randall Fireman
I 'think' it looks awsome, but....we won't know till Will gives his verdict😂😂!
Vamós a ver,esa madera està verde, buena para emplumar y mala para encender
Fully Functional and Chic. LOL Blade couture.
Angel Pubes
Looks like a damn good one.🤘🤘👍👊🇺🇸

Another toy for the Carlos’ lists...👍🏼
Carlos Sepulveda mine will be here tomorrow. Black g10 with thick white liners. Will match my forest trail spearpoint in 3v
Roland Silva outstanding dear friend 👍
I agree with having to buy a 3V knife before you bash people that do buy expensive knives. I bought my first knife because of your videos ; the Becker BK7. "that knife has a handle and is made of metal, it must be a rip off of ______"
looks like a bk2 only nicer
That’s a bad bitch👍🏻
Get busy living. Or get busy dying fellas.
Looks like a bk2
Man I really have to stop watching your channel! I'm getting too many knives! Haha well I guess now that I just bought one of these I can sale my others.
Oh No He'S bAtOnInG aGaIn
Knife looks awesome, to bad its out of stock.
If RUclips had an Emmy for feathersticking Chris would win it😀
Just not lighting it lol😂
Never work with animals, children or ferro rods

Jason Pettit They won't be like this, but there's one coming I think today that I'm hopeful about that's in the $50 range.
I hate to make a negative comment but you look like a Ferro rod newb. You are not using the end, and you are starting up high, wearing it down unevenly. I know you aren't a newb.
Sorry. I wasn't aware of the great ferro rod shortage.
Damn you !!! I just ordered one ....couldn't resist. Almost time to unsubscribe to you .....thanks for putting out honest and great videos .
Better unsub before the new Bravo-whatever video gets done.
Looks like another chinese BK2 clone, except the handle :)
Boring...man you talk so much but you say nothin'
So don't watch. I wont miss you. It is what it is.
