    Thanks for doing this video gentlemen. I really enjoyed it. 3v all the way, baby! Maybe a little cpm154 or aebl, on occassion! Love the term "hot rod steels."

    I just picked up a AEB-L Scandi grind Patriot from Blade Show West! I'm so excited to use it. I haven't had an AEB-L knife before, but I think based on what y'all said I'm gonna like it just fine! I am a slacker with knife maintenance sometimes... so maybe a stainless is good for me in the wet PNW. :D I'm going to use it mostly for bushcrafty wood processing stuff like fire prep and EDC.

    Get that overland in AEB-L, now we're talking.
    I love your guys' A2. Wouldn't mind more options in D2, but A2 is too good at too many things to really pass up. Would love to see the JX2 in A2 as well. Nothing against O1, it's just "blah" anymore. I like that slight addition of stain resistance and improved edge retention in A2. But, sometimes it's nice to be able to look at a steel and a strop and the blade nearly sharpens itself, enter O1.

    AEBL is tough as 3V at 60HRC! You might want to consider to run it harder than 57-59 for some added edge stability. Might make a difference at scandi grind!

    • @pullinside9
      @pullinside9 8 месяцев назад

      Not sure why LT Wright heat treat all their steels at the sucky soft 57-59 HRC, warranty safe maybe? Leave some performance on the table for steel like AEB-L, 3V and now the new PSB 27. 57-59 for A2 is ok but I'd still prefer A2 @60.

    I have about used every high end knife, custom and factory made, over about 36 years of bushcraft and Survival. I have had original Alan Wood (Woodlore) to Jacklores and about any fine English made knife. The Genesis is the best Bushcraft knife I have ever used with the exception of none. I reccomend this knife to all my students, buy once cry once and its worth every shilling. The best bushcraft knife in the world.

  • @jeffgenchi5863

    Well said. I love a CPM 3V with a high convex edge. I live in the desert in Arizona and a 4-4.5 inch blade works great. I will admit I have been tempted to add one of your knives for a while. I just love my Bark River Bravo 1 so much. I love the handle and shape. I have 3V dialed in on my 4 other blades I have.

    Great video. My Jessmuk-C in AEB-L is my EDC fixed blade, if I get kydex for my 3V Mini Pendleton Hunter I may try that, but I think the belly for slicing on the Jessmuk-C will almost always bring me back to it. However, I was curious why LT said he wouldn't use 3V for a big chopper. It seems to me that 3V's toughness would make it a top notch chopper, even more than S7.

    I recently stumbled onto your company and within the past two weeks have picked up a Camp Muk 3V and now a Maverick Scout. Your knives are very underpriced for the quality of product. I also prefer the A2 over the 3V and, after convexing the edge, it can be stropped back in a matter of minutes. The Maverick Scout paired up with a Spyderco Native 5 in LC200n will be my new go to when taking the canoe out this summer. Y'all are doing excellent work!

    could you sandwich an A2 or CMP-3V between AEB-L to be used as a chopper/machete for example? would the outer steel offer protection against the elements while that inner steel offers that great edge? can those steels even be used together?

    Which steel from the LT Wright offerings, has the best heat treatment? I've heard their A2 is good, but how is their AEB-L or their 3V heat treatment?

    • @LTWrightKnives
      @LTWrightKnives  3 года назад

      All of our knives receive the same heat treat process with the only change being the time and temperature required for the type of steel.
