I made this tonight and I used your onion and broth idea, man I’ll tell you what it was delicious! Spritzed with apple juice and it really cartelized on the bark. Thanks for you videos always.
This turned out absolutely amazing, I let it go to about 205 degrees and it was fall apart tender and then we took some hard crusty rolls we melted some provolone and muenster cheese on them and then sliced our chuck roast stacked it up real nice and put all the onions on top and then a little au jus to dip it in. Top shelf eats thanks again Tony 🤘

Great looking smoke ring on that roast. Like the idea of using the onions like a rack to hold it up off the bottom of the pan. Finished product seemed tender and juicy. Awesome cook and video as always 👍🏻
Michael E, that Au jus with the onions is a game changer. great on sandwiches, over bread, or served open. or just plain sliced. love this stuff. thanks for watching. stay tuned for an uncle Steve giveaway posting tomorrow.
Making this today!! I'm finishing a brisket and putting this on right when I pull the brisket. I'll be smoking for 24 hours by the time is finished. Got meat! 😀🔥 Thanks for the clear instructions!!
I bought a Pit Boss wood pellet smoker and have been watching You Tube videos of how experts do it. I have followed the recipes from the pros but what I am finding is they put way too many spices on the meat for me. Last time I smoked, I just used a little salt and pepper and used a mixed blend of wood pellets and it was much better and the flavor of the meat really popped. I will probably try more of the You Tube recipes but I don't want meat candy like some of the other people make. Good video but I wish I could have had a slice of beef at the end and now I am craving beef chuck roast.
I tried it with your twist. The only thing I did diffren was I put a water pot in my smoker with guiness in it. Ended up tasting amazing. Thanks for the tips!
Just getting into smoking and I'm using one of your cheaper off set smokers. It alot of work putting small splits on every 15min. To hot or not hot enough. I'm enjoying it though. I'm a pyro so not so bad. I'm am looking at getting a pellet smoker for the summer months. Hot here in Charleston SC this time of year.
Hey! Tommy that's one killer smoke ring on that Chuck Roast the poor man's Brisket some sandwiches with coleslaw is all I can think about right now. Great cook my brother have a great mid week and weekend you and your family.
Excellent video Tommy and believe it or not you remind me of my uncle Tommy They used to call him Tommy two times because he says everything two times ✌️
You are really great at your craft my friend. That definitely takes some time and attention to detail. I didn't realize it took over six hours. But I bet it was absolutely amazing. Loving your videos. Congrats on all the RUclips success 👍🏽👍🏽
Well it turned out fantastic! It was Smokey, it was moist, it was incredibly flavorful! My stall was at 145, but other than that, it was spot on!! I will be doing this again! Overall it took 6 plus hours, but that is going to depend on the size of roast!! Got a call from one of my guests the next day saying how much they liked that roast I did!
Just taking some notes again...lol. I'll be doing 2 chuck roasts on my Masterbuilt 1050 but still not sure if I'm keeping it together, making burnt ends, or making a pulled beef sandwich. Beautifully done once again & especially since you used a thick cut of beef on an electric smoker 👍🥩🍻
Thanks Mike. you defiantly gave my channel a well needed bump and its defiantly appreciated. I hope to work with you again in 2020. maybe a nice Pit Boss Collab. be well and have a great New Years!
triplesped, the bed of onions is key to this dish. especially if you like to serve them open with some juice. appreciate you stopping by and happy holidays my friend.
Outstanding.... you must update me on how it went. and here is a Burnt Ends Video I did where I used a Chuck Roast. ruclips.net/video/iPnsYxLT3mw/видео.html
Nice cook on that chuck Tommie. Nice layering technique, unfortunately I can't go with that much spice or the family will rebel. Have never done the onion bed with beef stock and Wostershire. New style, so thanks bro! Love the background music to accompany your narration.
Robert, on a big cut like that all that Rub get a tad lost;)..... appreciate the compliment. make sure you check in over the next day or two as im putting a video up for some of that uncle Steve.. hope to see you there ... ps..... that onion bed with the beef stock is a defiant game changer :).... Enjoy!
Yup. Sounds just like BBQ Pit Boys..... with the jazzy rock in the background. And the voice and style. However the video was good and the cook looked great. I found it a little distracting it was so similar
Appreciate the question. ive cooked many a chuck roast in my Rec Tec with no water pan. I figured. lets try it. I was happy with the results. studio.ruclips.net/user/videopnJC7L6b1ew/edit

Cook up some mashed potatoes and your golden. Have been eyeing the roast at the market. They had some last week for like 8 bucks. I’m going to have to give it a try.
Looks like a great recipe. I plan to try that out! If I wanted to add carrots and potatoes to the broth at what point in the smoe do you think that would work? Thanks!
@@thegalleryBBQ Did it today! Turned out great! Thanks! I added carrots and potatoes an 1.5 hr. before the end of the smoke which was good for my grill! Thanks!
Mark, thanks buddy. A sandwich would be awesome because it would showcase that Au Jus sauce. So good... That said, this weekend I'm doing a Pulled Pork Sandwich with a White Alabama BBQ sauce. I'm real pumped 💪 about this one...

Awesome brother. Ans make sure you stay tuned because I just made the best spiral ham ive ever made.:).... Happy Easter!
