- in this video I give the kawasaki one last chance. Thank you to Daniel for helping me figure this out. so the bike has great coils now, great tuned carbs which omg rev like hell and the valves have been done.
What can I say mate. Motorcycle Rescuer strike again! That is one rescued bike! Ernie rides again. I was shouting 1 and 4, 2 and 3 at my phone at one point. Brutal is the word, that exactly what it sounds like.
Glad you got a win mate. You deserve it.
When I said oh shit in the video thats exactly what had happened, it popped back into my head 1 and 4 lol
at last the bloody thing is a runner.well done mate was a interesting watch was willing it on WINNER.great to see you never gave up
Can't wait to get the battery and give it a spin.
Well done Charlie 👍👍 awesome job getting it running. You must be well happy with that 👌
So happy Jason honestly I thought the bike was finished mate.
Super happy
Mate... that sounds class, my misses said to turn my phone down coz it was loud, my volume was on the lowest setting 🤣, great work Charlie, super happy with the win for ya and the ER5 looks great!
Yep it started easily and sounds great. I can't wait for a test ride.
Nice one Charlie...love the recycling of a bird feeder for a dummy fuel tank 😉
Ha ha, its one step up from my old pepsi bottle ones as it don't leak 😜
oh yes a long video clip im a happy lad now, so much work and thought went in to this big baby 600
Its a great bike
well done so pleased for you
Thanks buddy
Well done mate looks good come a long way from the sym
The kawasaki is such a cool bike. It deserves being stable on the road for a few years
🌟Well done Charlie ! Happy to see it running, sounds great on my end . Saved another one from being scrapped 💯🙌 so timing & coils was the issue? You can find some real crap, motorcycle & scooter parts online. I got shafted more then a few times ordering from Amazon LOL. Salute bud nice job 💯🛵😎
This one of weird, so it had jumped a tooth and the valves needed adjustment. Now I think someone took the tensioner out and turned it over for it to jump a tooth. But of course that was why it wouldn't run. So new decent coils, valve clearances and re setting the timing has got it sounding great. I've not tested it yet though
Hi Charlie nice result. As you said the tubes on top of the rocker cover is just a breather pipe.
I thought so. I don't need to do anything with them then. Can't wait to test ride the bike
@@motorcyclerescuer I would put breather hoses on to stop any road debris ingression.
@@andydawson2070 thats a good point Andy. Thanks mate
great video but talk about deja vu, I'm watching Nat's playlist where he is building and painting this bike and then I see tank all bubled on charlies....am I imagining things....
Ha ha well it was mine first and after taking the carbs of 50 times I gave it up to Nat, he completed it at the time and moved it on. Now 8 months later ish Nat got ot back in a trade and I'm looking after it lol.
@@motorcyclerescuer Its a great bike, Looking forward to seeing it returned to its former glory. You and Nat make a nice team.
Thanks Andrew. Appreciate it.
Well done mate good job
Thanks Kev. So pleased
Well done good feeling getting it running, still maybe a bit of adjustment to get that flat spot gone, but your winning good work🙂👍
I think it will sort itself out once all together, warned up and running. I'll give it a spin on Saturday if I can.
@@motorcyclerescuer I’m currently scratching my head as I can’t get my old 60s Lambretta to fire or do anything, I’ve tried everything I can without taking to the engine out to investigate further. That is the next step engine out, I suspect piston/ ring damage.
@@menditman2004 potentially. Throw a compression tester on it.
@@motorcyclerescuer I’ve done that 90 psi at best, imo it’s not enough even though some say it is. I’ll go by my instincts and take the head off only way to properly see what it’s like in there.
You should have put a bet on with your mate when asking would it start would have been a handy 50 quid😂 . Well done on getting it going 👍
He's tight, he wouldn't have paid lol
@@motorcyclerescuer question would you happen to have come across any honda cbr 250 mc19s for parts ? I need a set of carbs and way too expensive here second hand .
@@gerwheelz3154 wow that's the late 80s early 90s isn't it? Only set of carbs o see online is £700, ouch
Can the old ones be saved?
@@motorcyclerescuer Yes from that era when 250cc 4 cylinder 18k + screamers once roamed the streets 😂. Wow i saved the bike for less than half that money . The guy that owned it before me sent the carbs off to get cleaned etc ,the garage where they went closed down and that was that 😔
@@gerwheelz3154 that happens way more then it should you know.
I guess you could see if any more modern ones fit?
If was nearer I would love spray that tank
That would have been cool. I wish I was better with a can. I'm going to do truck bed liner now to see how that sits.
Check that the floats in carbs on the er5 arnt leaking fuel into the engine. Change oil and see if it smells like fuel
I checked the oil and it had no sign of fuel at all, also its on a suction system so rare to overflow loads into the oil.
Good point though mate.
Thanks
Oh and I did note the secondary tank comment too....... :)
Secondary tank?
@@motorcyclerescuer your non phalic external fuel tank mate. You really need a bong themed one!
Ha ha yeh its its just not as fun 😅
Rescue her
Already done and dusted. Being collected in the next couple of days for the new owner.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe
@@motorcyclerescuer great job xD
Would you sell it on finance?
I doubt Nat would want to mess with that if I'm being honest plus your 3rd in line Robert. 2 others have asked already.
I discussed with Nat a price of £1250 to a watcher, I believe the bike is valued at closer to 2k so its a steal for anyone
@@motorcyclerescuer ahhh that’s fairs enough mate, just don’t have money for out right but and er been being funny recently.... had to reclean the carbs and change spark plugs plus fuel lines are leaking atm
Bloody hell that poor bike. It needs a long run to clean it out
@@motorcyclerescuer yeh it’s stupid lol sue sues looking at getting a new bike but has to be with payment plan cus can’t afford one out right, did ya see the cbf I shared to you on fb
@@rtvids8414 yeh but I'm super skint. I need the vespa back to sell it
I still think they needs more work
What needs more work?
