"I think it's a sin to listen to the songs out of order the first time you listen to an album" YES YES YES! Honestly I treat albums the same way I treat books, you go chapter by chapter, you don't skip pages or read the end first. Artists choose an order for a reason, they're telling a story and it just doesn't hit the same if you mess up with it.

Nice review! I actually connected the strongest to "good 4 u." Petty songs are the best. Pettiness is human and real. It makes me feel connected to people when they express their pettiness in a self-aware way because they are being vulnerable by sharing an "unlikable" quality. They are laying their flaws right out there in the open, and not pretending they are above these kind of ugly emotions.
I also find it super cathartic to dance to songs like "good 4 u" to release some anger lol

there definitely is a lot more down tempo songs on the album. she mentioned she wanted it genreless, specifically citing that she loves country and folk music, so that explains why. i think the cover art with her tongue is appropriate for the album - shows her youth, naivety, and innocence during this period of her life. i just don’t like how the background is plain purple? compared to her single arts they were collage-esque so it would’ve been nice to continue that theme. ur reaction was great, had me laughing with all the empathetic mmm’s lol
