Her hair is done. If she was ⚪ or mixed and the short bits were straight or loose curly they'd be calling it a cute messy look or not even address it at all. Every other demographic walks out like this ALL THE TIME. Let's call it what it is, people uncomfortable with being carefree with their own type 4 hair and projecting those feelings onto someone who is secure in their natural self. So secure that she doesn't feel the need to assimilate to appease others who aren't like her physically and, by the looks of it, THEY ACCEPT HER AS HER NATURAL SELF. If anything, more people should take notes.

I think bw with severe hair dysmorphia will always be the loudest critics of bw who express less or completely healed hair dysmorphia. The projection of self-hate by them and even some bm is always so sad to watch. They will also convince you that you’re responsible for how blk hair and blk people are viewed, bc that’s the burden that they carry. Once I realised that being an “acceptable blk” (as defined by Eurocentric standards) doesn’t cure r*cism bc r*cism is a deeply emotional belief rather than a logical stance. I felt so free to live without always being conscious of the yt gaze.

That's absolutely true ! White people have authorized themselves to be messy. They have rebranded messy buns into ✨messy buns✨and decided it's a style. Remember that H&M ad with kids with messy hairstyles (on purpose because they are supposed to be kidd ) ? Only the black girl got hate 😔

This is very very very true. Super random but on a show called big brother there was a white girl named Nicole that was notorious for wearing messy buns. I always found it to look so incredibly pretty (she had straight thin high density hair so it was like putting a bunch of feather strands together). But let a black girl do it and now it seen as unkempt. Although I never hated on this black girl your comment gives me more perspective

Nothing wrong with her hair. Unlike the other woman, she has it styled and pulled back. Not having all the little pieces glued down doesn’t make it unprofessional. My gray hairs grow in wiry and coarse compared to the rest of my hair and it’s pretty much impossible to get them to stay down.

Imagine getting millions of DMs telling you to use water and a brush. She wasn't born yesterday. I'm sure she knows she could've done that if she wanted to and water and a brush is for certain textures (surface texture not the curl pattern). Namely silkier ones. More cottony textures need a cream or gel, a scarf, and a blow dryer. Which is a lot to do in the morning. A headband would be better but again I don't think she was born yesterday. She knows headbands exist. Getting a million DMs of UNSOLICITED advice from is NOT OKAY. If she asks for help or was complaining about her hair, then help her. If not, myob. Blq ppl love saying they mind their own business but then do this sht.

Personally I don’t care, my hair looks like a mess later in the day sometimes and I don’t feel like laying it back down.
I think it’s high time we leave the one person representing the whole community thing, it’s not fair and it’s exhausting.
Leave black women, people in general, to do what they want to do with their hair. We don’t need to always look presentable.
She most likely saw her hair and didn’t care and that’s her right. If you want to always lay your hair down when it gets puffy, definitely do but that doesn’t mean that everyone should be the same way.

Her hair is natural. Nature approved. In my mind nothing wrong with it. Nature doesn't make mistakes even if people make you feel like your natural hair is somehow a mistake. Go out in nature for once and get off your phone. It will make you realize every part of you from your hair to your finger nails was intelligently designed. Respect mother nature!

3:25 She isn't a celebrity lol. She's not representing the whole race. And if they really cared about that, they'd be trying to deplatform sexxyred, not coming for some random nobody you wouldn't have even knew existed if it wasn't for that tiktok. We have celebs like sexxyred and that "comedian" lady (the fashion show dare one) yet you're worried about this lady? gtfo

This would be a bad hair day for me because I like having all my hair look pulled back or all my hair look "not pulled back" but voluminous or even free; to simplify a homogeneous shape all around. I often flat twist my "baby"/short hair but that's MY preference.
Her hair is not dirty and was obviously styled. The "brush" mentality has to go since our hair isn't meant for this.
First of all, I would never understand men scrutinizing and commenting women hair.
Second of all, how come we can't live without being policed by our own? What does it say to be obsessed about others' hair? This energy is nowhere to be found in regard of our white peers. We simply have to accept when they rolled out of bed, have flyaways all around or having greasy hair, especially at WORK.
The girl isn't a stylist, does not work in the beauty industry, doesn't even talk to anybody but some HAVE to deny her right to live in peace and "imperfection".
People out there have nasty attitudes or even commit crimes and are given more grace online, that's sickening..

Her hair just needed some grooming and all. I'm sorry but growing up, my mother, grandmother were all sticklers for neatness. Even if its a job she working for years and it's a casual environment, atleast put on a headband and pick out the puff. It does not require that much effort. But that's not a standard for some people so 🤷🏾‍♀️

  • @Naistov

I kind of see it as when any other race has very short bangs. She didn't need a slick back or anything...maybe a thin headband to slightly lay her hair at the front. Other than that, her hair is thick and beautiful. And it shouldn't have been blown up as big as it did. She was just minding her businesses and happily participating in a work activity. I hope this didnt affect her too negatively.

Other ppl of other races have lazy hair days all the time. Messy buns were literally tht until they started constructing their buns to make them look a mess. When I go to the mall I see ppl wearing pjs and messy buns, it’s cute and trendy for them. We can’t wear bonnets outside or leave the house w our hair as it grows out our head when other ppl can and do and trend and make content abt the same thing? Regardless if you think everyone should want to present a specific way it doesn’t meant tht it’s unprofessional. Like it’s clean leave it alone.

Everyone saying her hair is done and looks fine is LYING. Blk ppl blindly supporting anything black has descended into excusing a blk wm for showing up to work looking like she has not put a comb thru her head but it’s okay bc she’s black.
    IT ABSOLUTELY IS NOT.
My boyfriend has this exact same texture and I have 4A hair. He encouraged me to love and take care of my hair and stop wearing wigs. What I found was whenever I KNEW I did not put in the effort to style my hair my mood reflected it. I had to learn my hair and what it can do, then and only then did I start to love it. I’m now researching treatments that help the frizz, addressing dryness and the lack of luster and shine, and I am ACTUALLY STYLING the hair.
As a black person who styles my own black hair and others, I am going to hold your hand as I say this..
Hairstyles for this texture of hair thrives best in twists and braids. These STYLES are classified as protective because they bond the hair into a stronger structure that prevents breakage and ends splitting up the shaft. Throwing your 4A-4c hair into a pony is lazy NASTY work. Even if you are doing routines and you have a well deserved “lazy day” The hair should appear naturally healthy from the work you consistently put in and at least be stretched to bring out the best qualities of your hair.
You are only harming black women to excuse a low standard of maintenance. This is NOT it.

@@misoka8020 1. Her hair IS done
      2. Her hair IS okay because she's black. Messy looks seem to only be accepted when it's not type 4. Wonder why 👀
      3. For someone who is learning their hair, have you ever considered that your hair type doesn't naturally shine? Not everyone has shiny hair. Dull does not always equal unhealthy.
      4. Styling is fine, but not everyone wants to weigh their hair down with product and force curls. That doesn't make their hair any less done.
      5. Twists and braids (when done properly) are protective, but not mandatory. Her hair looks healthy.
      6. Thinking that type 4 hair doesn't look good in a pony is "NASTY work" and says more about what you feel about natural hair and you should work on that.
Social media has a lot of black women spending hundreds on special occasion type styles and it seems we have forgotten what everyday people look and dress like outside of the Internet. Others get to show up with their authentic selves, messy hair, bummy clothes and no makeup and no one bats an eye. Let a black girl have one curl out of place and everyone goes mad. We as a group have a lot of unpacking to do. It's okay to want to look "average" and not glammed up. She's clocked in, not on the red carpet. Let regular people be regular in peace. She looks beautiful as is

@ you register the truth as someone being mean and that’s your unfortunate. I can see that you struggle to read between the lines or understand in context because obviously my response was helpful. If you were walking around with literal shit on your shirt and everyone in the world tried to gaslight you into thinking it’s chocolate, the one who finally tells you the truth is not trying to hurt your feelings. Styling your hair is an easy fix….it’s not even that deep. The world has become so soft and sensitive that you rather resort to lying instead of telling the harsh truth and help that person out. You are breathing evidence that Just being nice hurts ppl in the long run. If the subject was weight, I would have had the exact same tone. (“Shes actually fat you guys are lying she should definitely get into better shape so she can live a long healthy life”) Woahhh but now Im the devil, you have your morals mixed up and if you don’t have anyone in your friend group like me who’s going to be brutally honest you literally are living life from a cocoon of delusion. No wonder why you can’t fathom how my comment was actually a courtesy. This is not “clowning” I literally gave an informational caring and truthful response.
