drumHeart 2024 Concert

drumHeart performs 4 songs: Timbalada, dedicated to Nancy Doyle, a founding member of drumHeart. Timbalada was originally arranged by Colleeen Haas. Dolly Dawn includes calypso/carribean rhythms; this has been in the repertoire for over 30 years. Fire in the Mountain was brought to the WDC by Ubaka Hill, she composed the song for hand drums to express her amazement of the eternal fires and her love of iron. Bedrock is Alex's original composition representing the solid layer of bedrock supporting the earth. Alex intends that the song reminds us to dig deep to find the supportive rhythms within us and stay grounded during times of transformation and change.
