When pokemon made a collab with some vocaloid producers everyone made funny and catchy songs about adventures, catching pokemon and doing battles. Then comes Pinocchio-p, making a theme that's related to growing up, and learning from the past, it made me cry multiple times and I don't even care that much about pokemon 😭. The lyrics are full of metaphores like "Since then, years have gone by, My mistakes have become experience points, I wonder if I’ve evolved like you?" and the video is gold, during a part the resolution changes to reference the different consoles the games have been on. He didn't have to go that hard with that one.
Oh yo!!! That sounds so good!! I saw it constantly being recommended to me on the end screen of each song I reacted to. But now that I know he made it a tear jerker, lowkey makes me want to watch it 😆

One interesting thing about Non-Breath Oblige is its rapid lyrics and soft, breathy, singing style means that it is difficult for a human to cover it exactly as it is, since there's literally no room to breath. There have been covers that achieve this and go above and beyond, but it's not an easy feat.

God-ish, Magical Girl and Chocolate, and Reincarnation Apple were released as the first 3 songs in his most recent album called META. These 3 songs absolutely shot his popularity through the roof, and put a lot of his older songs into the spotlight as well.
If you listen carefully, PinocchioP actually puts his voice into a lot of his songs behind Miku's voice. It's not often he sings without Miku, but there are songs where he sings most of the lyrics.

One of the reasons PinocchioP is one of my most respected artists is that he knows that he has a platform, and he uses it for good. His songs always has a message, whether it is wholesome like I'm Glad You're Evil Too, or mocking like God-ish. It seems like he uses a lot of his songs to direct his audience towards being better people, and I really respect that.

Yeaaah "I'm Glad You're Evil Too" will have that effect on you... The song to me is a celebration of the small pleasures in life and how important it is to cherish them with a person you love, in a world that wants to call you "Evil" for anything that makes you different: not seeking a powerful career & fortune, not being social and extroverted, being depressed, neurodivergent, or being queer (though that's definitely me projecting ^^)... It really is an anthem for me and so many others, absolutely deserving of being called PinoP's best work :')

Tbf it makes sense to interpret the queer themes even without projecting, this would not be the only vocaloid song to use "Evil" as a metaphor for queer after all (see Villain by Teniwoha)
Honestly, the only reason the song has never hit with me is that aro/ace I don't seek that other person even if the themes of wanting simple things and being judged as different fit.

If you catch a male voice in the background of these you aren’t hearing things. Pinocchio P is singing backup vocals! Definitely a cool little detail when you catch it.
The meaning of Pinocchio P songs are often so deep but it isn’t apparent at first glance… like non breath oblige saying your problems in life aren’t less important, you should be able to talk about them, not feel obligated to stay quiet. SLoWMoTIoN knowing how many problems you will face going forwards in life, but you just have to keep going and believe you can get through it.

i fully bawled my eyes out when i first listened to 'Im glad you're evil too'. i dont know why but it feels so relatable and comforting in way that just melts away any guard you had up and makes you cry, at least that how i'd describe the song's effect on me. there's quirks people will ostracise you for and we can't change those 'evil' sides of us which is why i find comfort in the song. but yeah.. it's a common reaction to cry to that song.. PinocchioP really made a banger of it tho! im glad its one of his high ranked songs

You were sort of right about Weekly Shonen Bye-Bye. It's about a series getting abruptly cancelled, leading to rushed plots and general sadness. The rapid pace of the song feels like the manga using its last breath is say as much as it can.

In "Thanks for Being Lifeless", that Miku is like, a bigger version of the mini-Mikus that have been appearing in other Pinnochio-P's songs. She's called Aimana-chan if I remembered it correctly.
That song is so real, like it doesn't try to claim that Miku feels this or that, but just accepts and appreciates Miku for what she is, something that isn't a real person. Even "Anonymous M" admits that the Miku in the song is just the artist's interpretation.
To be honest, out of all of PinocchioP's songs, SLoWMoTioN always hits me the hardest emotionally.
It pretty much adresses one of my greatest fears living life and watching your time run out in slow motion.
Every "It'll be okay" in the lyrics makes me want to cry every time. Because the first one feels like it's just a simple thing people will say where you just like to think "Do you even really believe that?"
But then, when the fever dies down, and you feel things getting better... maybe things will actually turn out okay.
I feel like I need to hear that phrase more often...
so, for "Magical Girl and Chocolate", the song is a reference/sequel to another song of his called "Rotten Heresy and Chocolate", so it would be cool if you also check that song in the future!

I found pinocchio through "I'm Glad Your Evil Too" instead of his other crazy song. He became my no. 1 vocaloid song producer from that moment. It was love at first sight

悪い人（ワルイヒト）"warui hito" would be translated to "evil person" or "bad person". I think "evil" in the song would be more properly translated as "bad" in the sense that the person refered to in the song does not have big aspirations. Instead, they are content on being "small" and "bad", enjoying tiny pleasures in life and happy that they found someone that also enjoy life in a more personal , intimate and slow maner. That might be a even stronger message when put in contest of how much social pressure ppl feel in japanese society.
Anyway. I don't think I'm 100% right on this one, but I hope I'm not too far off hehe. Thx for checking it out. It's one of my favorite songs and it was one of the few that actually made me cry.
True, though it's worth pointing out that PinocchioP himself translated it as "evil". I think your overall interpretation still stands, but the title *is* /meant/ to be kind of exaggerated
as someone who doesn't listen much to pinocchio-p, this video was a refresher for me! his music isn't exactly my style, but there's no doubt that he's an AMAZING producer, with lyrics that grab you by the heart and a sound that throws that heart into space (that's at least how i feel listening to his songs)

(Added in later) Because you're here is another song I love, I did not realized that pinocchino-p made it. Also kinda sad CosmoSpice isn't on there, I love that song. As well as The World Hasn't Started Yet, a very different PinocchioP song but I still love it. Both of these songs are made for the game Project Sekai, one for the starting song of a certain group, and the other for a cup noodle commercial...weirdly enough. If it's not obvious CosmoSpice is the cup noodle commercial song, along side 4 other songs from other creators. Blue Paint, Salamander, CosmoSpice, The Tokugawa Ban on Cup Noodles, IDENTITY, Identity being my favorite. Cosmospice is made for the cheesy curry flavor so the song's MV contains a lot of cheese. Ah and also Apocalypse Now, I completely forgot this song is made by him.

25:16 In japanese, the sound of 8 (hachi) sounds similarly to the onomatopoeia for clapping (pachi) so the 88888's are written out to be applause. Them flying across the screen is a reference to how comments would be shown scrolling across the screen on the website nico nico douga, a japanese video sharing website where most of vocaloid culture originated from. The song was made for miku's 10th anniversary and is a love letter from pinocchiop and other producers thanking miku for allowing them to create and have so much creativity and community with her voice over the years, despite her flaws.

Idk if someone else has already mentioned these, but in case they haven’t, magical girl and chocolate is actually a big reference to an older song “Kusare-gedou and chocolate” (Rotten Heresy and Chocolate) where in my interpretation the chocolate is something akin to rumours. It’s worth a comparison watch :)

25:08 the "8888" going across the screen aren't supposed to be a variant of binary. On the Japanese equivalent to RUclips, Niconico, user comments would scroll across the screen like it does in the MV. The number 8 in Japanese is pronounced as "hachi" which sounds like the onomatopoeia for clapping "pachi". So the "8888" on the screen are supposed to be viewers leaving an applause for Miku. The song was written for Miku's 10th anniversary, so the song was written as a "thank you" for the role she played (despite her being "lifeless") after all these years.

I'm glad that you took your time to explore Pinocchio-P, he truly is a god of a Vocaloid producer, not only are his music catchy, they also have meaning and emotion to it, that is why one of my favorite music from his is I'm Glad That You Are Evil Too, it still gives me the chills and feels every time I listen to it. (20:58) only to some, it really depends on the vibe of the song to be honest but it is mostly prevalent from his old songs.

Hihi! I really love PinocchioP's music, its nice to see an og in the scene still going strong to this day, specially with how popular God-ish has been. One of my favourite songs of his I'd recommend is SAKURA TATOO, a collab between him and another producer called Hifumi for the Chimera album (a album filled to the brim with collabs between multiple vocaloPs I heavily recommend!!). It is nice identifying the particular characteristics of each producer and the blend of the two is fantastic. Now with that recommendation out of the way I'd like to introduce ya to a somewhat more underrated, yet storied VocaloP, mothy or akunoP!
mothy (short for master of the heavenly yard) is known for his song and novel series Evillious Chronicles (also known as the Story of Evil or Deadly Sins of Evil). I'm not going to bother you with the details on the story and stuff and just recommend you some of his (mostly or seemingly) self-contained stuff. If you ARE insane enough to want to delve into the interconnecting story I'll only say consider checking his stuff in release order rather than any community chronological order. ANYWAYS onto the music recommendations! This shall be a mix of classic and new! Popular and underrated!
(i am contractually obligated to point you first to listen to some of his most popular and older songs of his in this order: "Daughter of Evil" -> "Servant of Evil" and then "Daughter of White" if you fancy a nice trilogy, now on to the actual self-contained recommendations)
moonlit bear - a very cutesy fairytale song about a girl finding some apples

I listened to “I’m glad you’re evil too” for the first time last week, and I can confidently say that it has officially joined the ranks of “5th of July” by Owl City and “It Only Takes a Moment” from _Hello Dolly!_ as one of those songs that will always make me cry whenever I listen to it.

Apple Dot Com is my favourite Pinocchio-P song bc when I found it was when I related to it the most intensely. For me, it's about being depressed, and wasting away. Looking for hope, looking for a light while becoming complacent as you feel your soul withering away from the stress of not being 'good enough'. Not being able to live a life like the idea of a normal person. The apple representing a sweet, easy to digest thing, in the song's context, it's also representing an ideal of the future. If you're in jail, you can enjoy an apple and know what will be coming next for you. The actions depicted in the song feel a lot like someone who's trying to find control in their life when they feel like they've pre-emptively failed at life. That song became an anthem for me back when I discovered it, that feeling like a failure and like you've fumbled on having a good future, that experience is shared and you're not alone.

25:14 the "8888" is actually a kind of online shorthand for clapping, so it's an applause in a NicoNicoDouga video style (where comments move across the screen at certain times).
If you say the word for 8 in Japanese multiple times in a row, it sounds super close to the onomatopoeia for clapping in Japanese.

First time watcher! I could NOT ignore this video, i bawl my eyes out with you, both when I listen for the first time and with you again, I could recommend you some obscure songs but, I want to recommend my favorite song, motivation is dead, is one of the happiest beats he has drop but the most discouraging lyrics, feeling like when you don't want to leave bed, most depressing songs of Pinocchio P have a heartwarming message in the end, but motivation is dead doesn't, is just depressive but, the reason is my favorite is because it gives me motivation, the rhythm is great, is kinda like, hey, things are going bad but, you can get through it, maybe I'm overthinking it, but that's how I feel

You need to do a pt 2 for pinnchop because in my 7 years of listening to vocaloid music and Japanese music in general pinnchop is one of my favourites with maretu, neru, Kikuo and hachi

I think you’ll like his songs, especially Bitter Chocolate Decoration, Bakushou, Jyama, Cute na Kanojo, Day by Days, Jack Pot Sad Girl, In the Back Room and Call Boy.
I’ll also try to explain more about Syuduo as-well! Syuduo songs are mostly upbeat and catchy to listen for the first time, but can be intimidating and it has a lot of meaning into it…
I recommend having subtitles or try to look for any English comments that talks about more on depth about his songs. And he posts non-vocaloid songs too!

I listend to Non-Breath Oblige when it came out. At first i thought it was fine, but not as good as Loveit, but the more I listend to it the more I loved it.

I'm still 18 right now but not gonna lie here I'm glad your evil too is, the 6.30 minutes why I still have fun living right now.
When I was like 13 or so, I discovered the world of anime and Japan's culture. That's when I discovered I'm glad you're evil too (my 2nd Japanese song ever). At first, was like"yeah great song"...
But as years passed, it became my n°1 song to my heart, saving me countless times since then from really hard times. At times when I feel like I'm too useless, that I won't be able to live as a proper adult since all I can do is shut myself in and watch anime non-stop (ngl my 18th birtday was by far my worst one), I listen to this like a dear friend or girlfriend (lol single) whispering you everything's okay, that useless don't mean hopeless. That you can take your time. That your life is yours to live and nobody should push it on you.
In the end, what I wanna say is that this song has a soul to it, and this soul keeps on breaking the walls I keep on building around my heart. A real angel watching over you. And you crying at it is actually a proof its power is boundless.

Pinocchio P is easily one of my favorite vocaloid producers ever! A shame "Nobody Makes Sense" wasn't on the video :( the song and lyrics are so good (as everything by Pinocchio), one of my favorites!

1. Not all PinocchioP songs are on his channel. Some are scattered on other channels like his collab with Utsu-P.
2. Check out other vocaloid artists like Utsu-P, Yuyoyuppe or Okame-P. They can make quite heavy and sad songs.
im glad pinocchiop is getting more attention these days. i was a big fan of his stuff about 9 or 10 years ago, but dont keep up as much as i used to. i hope you check out more of his older songs too. i recommend mushroom mother, tonchinkan feast, and love is onomatopoeia
i only found him a few months ago as I didn't have good impression with vocaloid, but his songs changed my mind. Man produced banger after banger, and the fact that he even illustrate/animate in most of his MVs too.. Is this guy even human?
@@lambtft2583 yea tbh i kinda grew out of vocaloid (it just doesnt hit the same when you stop being a teenager lol), but he's one of the few i still listen to. his stuff just feels more like proper music than alot of other vocaloid producers imo. plus his miku costume designs are very iconic
