Imagine them playing live in Texas and the South in small venues in the mid 70s when no one in the america knew anything about them or punk. I still laugh about how that must have been.

The Sex Pistols came to Memphis in 1978. I missed the concert unfortunately. I lived in Hattiesburg, MS in 1977, 1978, and I loved to read punk magazines at record stores. It was definitely not the most popular music on campus in 1978, but I loved it. I loved Patti Smith, the Ramones. Yes, the Sex Pistols would have been energetic for small town college bars definitely.

There were christian protests and the news made it seem like a portal to hell was opening. At least in atlanta.

Absolutely hilarious dangerous and so far apart where we were at it in the US! I was little and very intrigued! Disco soft rock and AOR ruled American music...this is ground zero punk! Malcolm Rotten were there to provoke!

Amazing, one of the nights Sid wasn't too smacked out to actually play. I remember there was a huge uproar in my home state of Alabama, back in '78-79, because these guys were supposed to play Birmingham, and the Pearl Clutching contingent reacted so strongly they cancelled, and played in ATL instead. I heard "God Save the Queen" in Wally World the other day. Time.

@Mark David Yes. That was 1st tme at S,E, Music . . .for me, used to be a bowling alley. Al the tv networks , etc. were there for this first appearance in the states. They were supposed to open in Philadelphia, didn't make it and Atlanta was the next stop. Look at that audience! People like the show, really.

You know what... there's far to much AWESOME music than you can possibly listen to in your LIFETIME.... LIVE IT, LOVE IT... IT'S YOUR OWN PERSONAL SOUNDTRACK shame we've only got one life... BUT if we're lucky when we reach the "Other Side" and find a never ending jukebox of Every single, album CD and more variations... Meatloaf was wrong when he sang "Heaven Can Wait"... Rocking and Rolling for eternity... sounds like heaven to me.... " ENJOY "

Have you ever listen to the MC5. back in the usa, american ruse. , live, WSU Tarter field 1970, the start of garage rock or punk
