Release the whole thing as a live EP for the love of baby jesus.
YES
I much prefer this over the album version. The guitar and drums sound so much more organic and lively! Love this so much, thank you Ed!
Me, too! I was thinking exactly the same thing. The vocals are really crisp on this live version. I can hear the details really clearly in the vocals, guitar and percussion. Love this. It's total ear candy.
The BBC from Camden is the best versions
Agree
Andrew Aviles Well, Ed's explanation is: "I can't sing and sustain at the same time"
Ain't that just the coolest.
@@TerribleUsernameAmirite haha fair enough, it's like carrying two melodies which would be very difficult. I don't mean it as a criticism I think it's great in any case 🙂
31,100???????? this video deserves more plays :(
THIS SONG FUCKIN ROCKS. The whole break at 3:26 is exceptional...the synth sounds so much like an Ondes and makes me so nostalgic for that other band you’re in (forget their name)
Yeh to 4:46 ..Shivers...and several times thru it! Gets me everytime.
I like how you can hear both Thom's and Ed's solowork in Radiohead's music. They are each different people on their own but their solowork resembles Radiohead's, they take part in it. Same goes for Phil (his solowork is incredible and underrated). Idk I'm just excited
what about JONNY
@@kamilc18 I only heard There Will Be Blood soundtracks and that oil rig soundtrack literally took my breath(Convergence). Watching that scene for the first time, I realized that Jonny is the one who's making some songs like HTDC more horror-y and deep.
@@yunusemre-rm6xr oh yeah, definitely every single member brings something unique to the table. Even though he seems like the lead influence, it's definitely not a Thom Yorke + his backing band situation.
Yeah they are all individually and collectively great. They can all hold it down with immense creativity with and without each other, but it's also because they've all shaped and sharpened each other. Beautiful.
The Colin contribution to the Plesiosaur Album by Konklins is a masterpiece
I was one of the few who got to see EoB in February with his mini tour...he was having a blast..the musicians he put together were amazing (the same in this vid)..each one better than the other...and he stayed behind and spoke with each and everyone who wanted to meet him..if its the only live experience this year it was so worth it...he was kind, funny and generous with his time
This one really breaths live.
Has almost a modern New Order echo sound to it. I like the layering of the sounds and the drum beat. Ed has a good ear for sound textures and rhythm.
way better than the album version
Released when OK Computer turns 23 years.
That track is awesome.
Obrigado Ed! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Flood just did the same that he did with U2's Pop album. These songs are incredible when played live, unlike the final album version
Curiosamente, ele me fez sentir mais saudade do que U2 melhor fazia nos anos 90 do que o próprio U2, rsrsrs.
I first heard your song Shangri La while driving on a winding road through a forest in Oregon. It filled me with so much indescribable joy... and the lyric "I never knew I could feel so cold until I found my Shangri La" made me pull over and weep. Beautiful album, beautiful soul, thank you so much. You will never know how transformative your music has been in my life.
Why would that make you weep?
@@peterthecoll Grief and loss had turned me into a total recluse. One day, I decided to take a drive on a remote road heading up the mountains at the suggestion of my therapist. When that song came on the radio, I realized that my Shangri La was being back in the world, smelling the trees, looking at the light on the hillsides, seeing the glorious blue sky. After 10 years of mourning, I felt alive. I wept for all that was lost, and for the tiny spark of life inside me that had been waiting for that moment for so long. I didn't realize how cold and empty my life was, until nature embraced me, and welcomed me back to beauty, nature, life. My Shangri La.
Got a front row seat at Blossom Music Center back in 2001 just to see you slay the guitar. Best concert ever.
Gonna reply to myself...reminds me of Trent Reznor.
Happiness is when you are in a right place, with a right man, and you both feel the air you are breathing... You can do nothing, just be yourself all the way, but he brings something to you and you bring something to him and you feel like a one whole person...
“On this pale blue dot...” that part genuinely made me cry. Ed, you sing like an angel 🥺❤️
imagínate que Ed haga su gira de solista y llegue a Perú, me desmayooo
Nos! Desmayamos 😍
Y en primera fila!
@@luisfernandosantinguerra269 ojalá en un futuro nos considere 😭
I like how the "shrooms kick in" around the 4min mark when they also start making "Radiohead sounds". Really dig it (and love the album too). Looking forward to seeing more.
First time listening, expected great guitar, got great guitar and a really nice positive vibe. Noice
How can this be so good? Don’t know... Amazing. Brilliant song - EOB Earth is definitely one of the BEST releases this year!
This version is just incredible
Release Earth From The Basement with psychedelic visual effects please
damn this is so so good; hopefully things get back to normal and we can get to see this live
I love this. It's not easy to be a key readiohead writer and make music that sounds nothing like them. His voice is cool too. Rythm guitar guy use to singing backups with this great range nice. Of course guitar is interesting. I like him on a Riken tho.
LOVE this version of this song. I can’t stop listening to it. PLEASE release as a single so we can give you money!
sounds like u2, really hear ed's radiohead influence
Just because they use delays? U2 make some great pop songs and EOB tends to create beautiful endless soundscapes, more post-rock/ambient something.
It more reminds me of a combination of The Smiths and New Order (primarly New Order). But hey, whatever floats our boat. :)
mr. meme yeah, Zooropa and Achtung Baby ;) Flood co-worked with these albums and with EOB, I think that's why ;)
@@anatolschwez6737 Oh my friend, listen to "The Unforgettable Fire", for this comparison specially "Wire", then, you'll know. Some other post-rock/ambient something U2 references in no particular order: "4th of July", "Boomerang I", "Boomerang II", "Bass Trap", "Sixty Seconds In Kingdom Come", "Beautiful Ghost", "United Colours", "Beach Sequence", you're in for a treat. ;)
@@jsphsb Thanks, Joseph! The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree are my favourite U2 albums. They could have influenced EOB, that's for sure. But still, I don't like statements as: they use delays=U2. Other statements then could be: they use power chords=The Kinks, or they use distortion=The Kinks:) Music is art, you can use same techniques as much as you like, everybody is doing this, but you should preserve your personality, your way of self-expression. EOB has it.
My day is made now
Ed's voice on this song is a bit reminiscent of Michael Hutchence and I like that very much.
Now that you mention it..Yes!
This is live? No way, sounds too good.
can confirm ;)
LOVE, LOVE, only LOVE ❤🎸👍💯😎🔥🔥🔥
Very nice. This talented young man surely has a great future in music ahead of him...
Очень интересно звучат! Вообще прослушиваешь каждый трек и офигиваешь от разных импровизаций, то есть начало песни одно звучание, середина другая, а заключительная часть совсем иначе звучит! Также чувство, что три песни разные прослушал! Супер!
Fuck this is SOOO GOOOD. For the love of GOD give us all of it... whole album pls.
I'm not crazy about this music from Ed but damn the video is great, I like all the effects.
ON THIS PALE BLUE DOT!!! 🎶 💙
I love this song with all my soul, more and more every day. This is beautiful! 😍 Every time I listen to "Olympik" I like it more and more, and seeing this is great! Amazing visuals! Psychedelic and hypnotic. 😍🥰❤
Pretty cool man. I have to say the rhythm section is phenomenal here.
I am loving this instantly.
omg, live even better! LOVE THIS SONG!
This is one of the coolest music vids I’ve seen, this needs so much more recognition...
This is live? holy shiet!!! EOB!!!
Just perfect execution
I am absolutely pleading for the whole album released as a live sort of thing to Spotify. Not even all of it! Just some! Please! I love this recording so much!
That's awesome.
This is really good!
YOU ARE THE BEST EEEED,I LOVE YOU 💕😍💫
Hello, from Argentina! I admire you very much! I am a musician/Luthier and I wanted to ask you what fx pedal effect you use for the song "How to disappear" Thank you very much
Awesome live music video where brilliant sounds, words and visions really come together
All of you are so talented!!! Just bought the album. Cheers!
Love it
¡Gracias, EOB!
Love song 🖤🎸

I absolutely love your creativity!!!!
thanks Connie
Oh my god! I really love this...
Brilliant!
Pedazo de canción, la amé 😍
Hey Ed, I was listening to you on CBC radio the other day, honestly I old girlfriend line about revisiting your old work hah so good, you spoke very eloquently, I can tell your pretty honed into the next phase of consciousness, it sounds like you've listened to quite a bit of Alan Watts, perhaps even some Terrance McKenna as well? Anyways, I used to write music and channel all the time as well :D It was nice to hear someone else talk about that, very refreshing! I run a YT channel myself, if your into that kind of subject, feel free to subscribe :D cheers m8 best of all in life
Awesome!
Great vibes!

Olympik is the best thing on this record, I wish the next albums to be cooler than this tryout.

Fabulous, better than Thom!
backing vocals..
"Filmed in Winter 2020"
So apparently this was filmed in the future.
Winter extends to January and February doesnt it?
And February and march.. Really 2019 only had 9 days of winter.
Bastian Gustavsen reading this (now obvious) statement makes me feel really dumb... or the wording is confusing
boreal winter
Seems like Ed can’t deny his u2 worship... I’m a Radiohead total fanboy, I like solo work of all their members, but Ed’s stuff did not gel with me imho brave of him to go solo though
It's still a notch better than anima... Thom should've stick to the sound of tomorrow's modern boxes.
El video está rechingón
Remarkably average. At best.
Cheers from Mexico mr Ed o brien !
