Mp4 masks are still in use for training and for the police to use, but they're being replaced by the Mp5 masks (you should buy one, I have one myself and it's propably my favourite gas mask), also greetings from Poland, very nice video.
I recently received one of these from a friend and it's very nice for me and why I'm using it came with a little bag and a hose very lovely not as comfortable as I was hoping but for airsoft it's fine.

Your "Dzieńdobry" was really good ! And i think the MC-1 stands for Maska Cywilna 1 which is Civil Mask 1 but i`m not sure. But i don`t really know if mp-4 is still in use . I know that mp-5`s are issued in the Navy.

The mc1 will 100% take a modern NATO 40mm filter. I have it in my hand as I'm writing this and have threaded the NATO NBC filter onto the Polish MC1 mask. I've tried to breathe through it and it is completely sealed. Works properly. So for reference, the MC1 will take NATO & GOST filters. Now someone answer my question. What's the elastic loop in the bottom of the MC-1 bag for?

It is a little bit sad that Soviet filters have asbestos in it so I won't wear it just for fun with the filter on. Glad you enjoy the videos, if you can try and get a Czech CM-3 as well, it's a slightly better version of the MC-1. If you can get your hands on MASKPOL FP-5 filters, they should fit the old GOST threaded masks fine, and are safe.
Love your channel lots of interesting reviews and you present them all in a very informative and entertaining manner. Just wanted to add FYI and happy to be corrected if wrong, I bought three of those FP5 filters a few months back and they fit my S10 no probs but putting it on my GP5 and other Soviet block masks do not fit properly. They are, I believe designed to fit the MP5 which I've just found out are NATO threaded. So that explains that. Also just wanted to let you know the end filter caps on the MP4 are push on and pull off rather than screw threaded unlike some of the other clones. Didn't want you getting frustrated with that before attempting the arduous job of filter replacement as I quite like some of the cheek filter masks. Practicality is another thing - they all have their pluses and minuses.
FP-5 filters have normalised threads and should work on both masks, maybe you have slightly damaged GOST intakes on your masks, I have the previous gen of "normalised" Polish filters and they fit both masks fine, FP-5 filters seem to work for most other people, at some point I'll get a couple and test them with every gost mask I have.
For some reason.. probably only gas mask for injured people are a bit scary for me. For example when i saw ŠR-2 for first time when i was kid it was terrifying for me. Also with SR-1. Its also scary mask :D And thats one of the reasons i love them.
Well, maybe because of something called standardization? It was just cheaper to make the same lenses that fit all your masks than making different lenses for every mask.

Filtr cup is unscrewable, it pops out when you pull it, i've seen on internet someone turning them outside and join filter from outside, it looked quite wierd
GP-5 filters have activated carbon in as well, the asbestos is in the particulate filter section. I've not seen any evidence if these filters contain asbestos or not, but common sense says don't use them when proven safe filters are easy enough to get.
Finally I'm sure about what the m17 like gasmask I own is. Have you thought about making a gas mask lexicon? There are a few sites but they only have a few masks listed and also barely have any information about them

Id say either T60 or T51B is what i see when it comes to power armor hell it looks almost liek the Story Tellers helmet from shoddycast fallout videos.
MP-4 is really still in use because the next generation mask, MP-5 (designed by French) is a total disaster: after 30 minutes of wearing MP-5 you have a deep row on your forehead! The material of MP-5 is also very rigid, inflexible - old MP-4 is much more comfortable thats the reason it is still in use in many places.. You can buy MP-5 for a little money (about $30) because they are now replaced by MP-6 gas mask which is really very modern and very comfortable gas mask designed and made in Poland.

Mp4 Gas masks were in use till late 90' early 00' but only during basic training for conscripts .
I have the first one you did, I like how the intake brushes the eye stalks fog away.
But it was sold to me a Russian military issued.
The first one was never used by Russia, there is the Polish version and the Czechoslovakian version.
Mc1 is one of my favourite masks. Just like the way it looks

The other names of the hood masks are just transleterated ShM41 so SzM41 (OM14) and SzM41m (MUA)

The filter has active carbon in it, my grandpa was in army while these were produced, so he told me
