Currently trying to get to the Japanese F-16 to use the cherry blossom camo for it.
While grinding up the tree, I hated this thing until I met someone else in it in a match while we were both flying it and he was nuts with it.
I asked him what his secret was and he said he took minimum fuel, flying out low to the enemy team and playing really aggressive with it.
Because of the low fuel it can outturn basically everything it sees. I think he said use tracer rounds as well. And you can use the missiles for unsuspecting enemies. The match after he told me that I got like 3 kills and instantly did a 180 on my opinion on this plane. I thanked him a lot. Right now I’m using the T-2 to research the F-4.
Lol I remember saying something like that to a new F-40 player about 6 months ago, the plane's crazy, it does whatever you want when you're light, turns in a dime, slows down and picks up speed really quick in a dogfight, and if you pick the right moment where you know the enemy's not gonna be able to dodge you get a missile kill. I almost forgot about the survivability, there were many times I was able to fly back to the AF with only one wing
Japan main here, this thing was an utter pain to use and spade due to how terrible the matchmaking against it is. I shouldn't be forced to encounter A10's, Su25's and F104's as there's practically nothing you can do.
Yeah, feel that, generally Japan sucks till you reach top tier, thankfully the F-5E will allow future mains to ease the pain
It's going to be 8.7 after the BR changes if I remember right
skill issue. i love my jap saber f-40s. while annoying to deal with, the a10s an su25s arent much of an issue if you dont get to close to them early in the match, and dont go head on with them. let other planes deal with them. they'll shoot those missiles off pretty early in the match, then theyre super easy kills. i fly my f-40 nearly every day maintaining a 4kd in it. r60s dont even scare me, ill dodge/out energy it. you shouldnt be letting either of those planes come within 2km for su25 or 3km for a10 from high/front aspects unless you know for sure theyre out of missiles.
skill issue. i fly the f-40 saber daily with a 4kd. you should just avoid su25s and a10s early on. let other planes deal with them. they will usually fire off their missiles early on and be easy pickins later. you should never be going high/front aspects against those planes unless you know they have used up those missiles. r60s are pretty easy to out energy or dodge from low/rear aspects. ignore a10s unless you know theyve used up missiles. only time a 104 should be a threat, is when you dont see it coming for whatever the reason.
@@thekirby53 That's basically how I play🤣. I am not the most skilled player. But I am having a great time with usually 1-3 kills per match
Also cool about the F-40 is the wings are slightly longer than other sabres, which helps manuverability in combo w the slats

As a Japan player... everything you will grind Post Props till top tier will be painful, the only choice you have is between bearably painful and extremely painful, if you plan on grinding Japan you should better start researching the Squadron F-5E FCU since that actually eases most pain.
The Kikka and Ki-200 are up to the individual, I personally do not like them.
R2Y2 Kai's are unique but overtiered.
The Sabers are not worth it because they are never worth it in my opinion.
The F-104 is okay~ish, 6 Aim 9Ps are nice but without flares it still isn't fun to play.
Same can be said about the T-2 and F-1.
Basically most of Japans Techtree post 6.7 can be summoned up into: "Overtiered and therefor sucks" or "No flares and therefor sucks"
If you play Simulator the F-104 and T-2/F-1 become pretty viable, the R2Y2 Kai's also become viable in Sim if your BR Bracket Matchmaker is favorable.

When this thing was in 9.0 - 9.3 it was so terrible. Especially back in the day there was a notice when your missles fired.
I was much more comfortable with F86 F-30. Basically the same thing without unnecessary missles, and among my aircrafts it currently has the best K/D ratio

I do indeed enjoy this series anywho what are the chances of you trying out the North American FJ-4B Fury (the Thicc Sabre) since you're on a roll for sabres, If you want you could use the event one (VMF-232) so it ain't a main research live version & you could do a forth match for CAS.
Or the Douglas A-4H Skyhawk, The lowest BR one without AAM's but two 30 mm DEFA cannons in place of the Mk.11 Colts (I'm not sure there's even a video on it tbh).
Say I forget but do you do GF & NF for this series as well? I could suggest a few ships one day..

Tankenstein you need to use the throttle and airbreaks more.
The idea of having to run 3rd Gen, 1950s, gunfighters against all aspect heat seekers is insane. People in these should never have to face Su-25s or A-10s.
Good plane but suffers from terrible matchmaking. There's almost no point in playing 8.3 to 10.3 air RB in any tech tree because of the constant uptiers and BR compression

I think they didn't do it because is japanese. The one who did got his br lowered was the f-30 to 8.3
