- Juelz Santana came through for his first VladTV interview in years, and he started off by speaking about growing up in Harlem and rapping around the age of 13. Juelz spoke about learning to rap, being in groups, and getting his first record deal, and he also detailed how he was scared straight from the streets. From there, Juelz explained how The Diplomats came together, getting signed with the group and meeting Kanye before he blew up. Juelz also detailed Dipset leaving Roc-A-Fella, dropping solo projects, and 50 Cent and Cam’ron’s beef. Elsewhere in the interview, Juelz addressed rumors about his teeth, his experience with lean, and being sentenced for bringing a gun into an airport. I've known Laron since the SAAE days, he went to school with my sister. Shout out to the hood HARLEM. In the 90s the energy of Harlem was unimaginable. From 125th street Dr. Jays, VIM, Harlem store for shopping; to the world famous Apollo theatre, Magic Johnson movie theater. You had to be prepared for anything, especially walking late nights. You had to stay fly, we went from Champion Sweaters and FILA kix, Tipple fat Goose coats in the early 90s to Overly baggy Girbaud jeans, fitted hats, Uptown shoes or classic Tims, and Bear/Northface bubble jackets in the late 90s. Hussling was a way of life for a lot of youth and with that came a lot of violence. I moved to ATL a while back but would never change anything. I remember buying crazy DIPSET, G-UNIT & LOX mixtapes in Brooklyn back in the 90's early 2000's.
DIPSET was definitely representing NYC.

Bro this is such a great interview. Juelz was one of my early hip-hop idols and seeing him tell his story is dope. But the more you watch this, you realize Vlad just got all his facts from the beginning from Juelz's Wikipedia and that just makes this 10x funny 😆 great content either way!

Great interview. Juelz a real one. My type of friend. I can see exactly how him and my Libra brother Lil Wayne was cool. He's a thinker. You can hear it in his music. This interview is very transparent, honest, forth coming, self aware... He was very truthful & conscious. Talked correctly without revealing too much but gave us some answers.
