This is interesting because when I'm under the weather one of my favorite things to do once I start feeling a bit better, is to pull out my old books or magazines I haven't seen in a long time.
Hi Lauretta - Your books are great. I did like his style of stitching. Something about it drew me in too. Take a deep breathe in and just breathe! You will do wonderful in this class. It’s a learning experience and you should enjoy it. You are going to have fun no matter what. Just let go of the nerves and relax. It’s all good. You are amazing and will do great. I have all the confidence in you. Hugs! Happy Easter 💕🐰
Thank you for sharing these amazing books. I love just soaking it all up. I am going to Amazon to see if the carry and of these. Glad you are feeling better.
Thanks for sharing your books with us. I've had a couple of my more favorite books done the same way. I've never seen Brian's work or his book (that I know of). I'm afraid now I wouldn't be able to enjoy these due to my chemical issues. They look like great resources though. Try to relax and enjoy your art class; it will be fun!
Love the books.... I've already went on eBay and ordered two of them.... you'll do fine in your art class....just think of it as sewing with a pencil or paint brush...😀
JudithBaker Montano lives here in Colorado. I have been privileged to be able to take many classes from her.💕 like you I have been stitching since I can remember. I too am in a slump, maybe its in the stars ⭐️
How amazing that you've gotten to take classes with Judith! That's a dream of mine. I have a few stitching friends who have gone out to her place and did the week-long workshop with her. It's very expensive. I own all of her books, too. And even a DVD. :-) lol Take care. Hope you and I get out of our slumps. xo
@@sparrowhawkerdesigns at my age it would be to spendy to do. I'm 80 so enjoy all the things you are doing. Been doing some kind of craft or sewing sence I was 7. That a long time lol.💖
Thanks for this video. I hope you get your mojo back very soon, but relax about it. Your art class will be interesting at the very least. I cannot imagine it not going well for you. Enjoy!!
hey... late to the game but I wanted to say that I'm really glad you did your low-key episode of book reviews! I was looking at that Haggard book but was waffling about buying that and/or one of the Montano books. I talked myself out of them mostly because I wasn't sure what they contained. I miss the days when you could browse a book in the bookstore! Anyhow, I liked what I saw from the Michler book and went searching for a used copy. I found one at Half Price Books and they had the Haggard one too - I have say, I was drawn to his work from examples I could find online and I suspect we have similar tastes. :-) Anyhow, I ordered both and I'm sure I'll be happy with them. I'm glad you did the reviews and I'm glad I found it.
You are so welcome! I never know if people will like these types of videos, so I'm happy to hear that it helped you make a purchase. I found Haggard's books in quilt shop, I think. Just LOVED his work immediately. I thumb through them over and over. Thank you for watching and sharing!
Love the books, TFS! I got my first Pfizer shot 2 weeks ago, just have to wait until I am advised when the 2nd shot will be! Looking forward to normality!
Woohoo 🎉 Another person all vaccined up! So happy for you 😃 I so need to prepare when it’s my turn. Have enough food in the house, pre-prepare several meals so I won’t have to bother cooking just in case. But it is still some way down the road for me. According to ‘the plan’ my agegroup can expect to be notified for the coming appointment to get vaccinated by the end of may/beginning of June. I just figure it’s gonna be a month or two thereafter when I get my first injection. That is, ofcourse, if there’s no obstacles somewhere along the line... Anyway, books! Books? Oh man... at the rate my wishlist is growing, I soon be out of paper! Yeah, not likely 😂 But I am thoroughly smitten by this crazy quilting business. I would never in a million years have considered doing hand stitching/quilting had I not seen some of your work. And now I can’t stop. Just finished 2 pieces I made into a journal cover, not quilted just stitching and a few beads. And it’s on to the next. Gotta have something to stick my needle in... Thanks for sharing Lau, glad you are feeling better and have a wonderful time Monday! And the nerves willing to come out to play, well let them. Take ‘m along and let ‘m have a good time too. Much easier to let them be out to play than to try to force them under your control in my opinion 😉 ❤️
You're a gem, Gwen. I got lucky because my age group really wasn't supposed to get vaccinated for another month, I think, and I don't work in any of the fields that were priority. But I have a few health issues that bumped me up. My son works with the elderly, so he's been fully vaccinated since February. My oldest daughter works at a school, so she just got her first one yesterday. So each state got an allotment of vaccines and then the governor of that state was to divide them up per county/city etc. For some reason our governor didn't send the most vaccines to the most populated areas. So we live in a major metro area, and I've had friends and family driving 3 to 6 HOURS away to get their vaccines. That's like you going to a whole other country! But, we're getting there. I had virtually no reaction to the first shot. The second shot I was down for the count. But I've been singing "I'm immune!" to the tune of "Let it Go" from Frozen, while cleaning house. :-) :-) :-) Maybe I should video tape that! lol
@@sparrowhawkerdesigns I would pay money to see you cleaning house singing ‘I am immune’, to the tune of frozen no less. Hahaha Hope you all dressed up like Freddy Mercury in the ‘I want to break free’ video (I believe) 😂

I decided to go full immunity route for this virus, just like I’ve done with all others.
I’m nearly 60 and it has worked great for me and my family.
My husband will be fully vaccinated in 2 weeks, too. We're trying very hard to get life back to normal. Take care! xo
