I don’t think Julia was wrong for WHAT she said but it was HOW she said it. True DCC doesn’t last forever, but you have to craft your words in a way that let them know you’re going to be proud to be a member of the team for however long you will be then proudly go on to your next steps in life with the things that you learned as a DCC and take that with you in your next steps. Like oh I’m just here to have something on my resume, any employer, DCC or otherwise would’ve been very offput by how she said that.

That was a slap in the face of everyone who had tried so hard for many years to make that team. And they didn't do it to further their careers or the money. Just like the one girl who was trying for Miss America or whatever and said that would not interfere with the team. But it did and she had to quit. That made Kelli and Judy so mad. Then she had the nerve to try out again the very next year. NOT!!!

Do you think some of us college students go in to retail store job interviews saying "oh well I'm just doing this for the pay cause later I'm gona have a degree" no. Obviously they know that the position isn't permanent but they want to hear that you want to work there cause you like the company and what they stand for, etc etc all that bs. But once I get to a point in life where it's time to put dancing aside, I look forward to starting a new career as a journalist." It's also a slap in the face for the women who are training camp fighting for those spots, and work their butts off to make this far. It is perfectly fine to tell an employer that a position is going to benefit you in the future, but you have to explain why. Point out the key details of the position, explain why it is so great, elaborate on the profession development it will bring to you. You cannot just accredit it to "looking good on my resume," you have to milk it. Julia could have easily talked about how as a DCC, she is constantly in the spotlight performing the entertainment of others, which is crucial in the broadcasting business. It's not just about entertainment though, they do volunteer work, perform for those in action, and work with children. The position allows her to gain that comfort in front of cameras and people, while also giving back to their communitynand gainingna greater world perspective

yes, you CAN hold it against her because the assignment was MEDIA TRAINING. The last place you want to sound like an arrogant, disrespectful little turd is in a media interview, especially not while representing your employer. There is a way to express that being a DCC can advance her future career opportunities in meaningful ways with grace and poise, and that way is not to essentially say "I don't care about this job or organization as long as it fills my resume." One can be honest and also be kind.

I think at this point any little mistake, especially with media, is an excuse to be cut. They’re all really good at this point so any little mistake is a reason to be released from the team. Plus she openly said she was using DCC as a stepping stone basically, and there’s thousands of girls who would die for that position. So they know they don’t need her no matter how good she is.

She probably wants to continue her dance career along with her TV one as well. However she shouldn't have said what she did.

Nobody, not even Kelli, thinks that DCC is going to be a lifelong career for these girls. But there's a difference between saying "I've always wanted to dance for the DCC because [insert reason here]. After my dancing days are done, I'd like to go into [career], but right now this is my priority because it's been my lifelong dream" and just straight up saying "Y'all are just a stepping stone to get me where I really want to go." Take Lisa from this same season - she was absolutely honest about how she wants to go into medicine eventually but it's also clear that she's dedicated to DCC. There's a balance there and Julia just didn't find it.

Julia's answer that she was basically using DCC as a resume filler sounded bad .It was truthful and probably what a lot of the SMART girls do but she should have worded it differently. They want the girls to say that they dedicate their lives to the DCC and it is the top priority yet one gains 5lbs or losses that "spark" and they are booted.

People ask me why I still support/watch dcc with my views on the organization. I’m a huge cowboys fan and I’m a huge supporter of the women who are performing for DCC. Simply stating ‘i don’t agree, I’m boycotting’ does nothing! I expect more of the organization as a fan. I expect more of the organization as a woman and a mom of two daughters!
The hypocrisy of DCC execs kills me. You cut Julia for ‘using’ the DCC for her future. Yet DCC does nothing but use these women to further their organization. The mentality of “you should be grateful we even consider you” sickens me! They need a serious dose of humble pie because if it wasn’t for these women, DCC would be nothing!
Some will think I say this being sarcastic, but I’m dead serious... the execs of DCC are nothing but corporate pimps! Think about it...
-the ladies are expected to give 150%...
-DCC sees the women as a product, and they only do the very minimum to keep that ‘product’ in working order...
-regardless of service, the minute a dancer no longer produces top dollar performances, they’re discarded like Kleenex.
The fact that they try to hide this behind veteran community service and such is insulting! I’m a military brat... proud of it! If you want to help the vets, then roll up your sleeves and do some actual work and help!
DCC has a great deal to do before they really meet that world class standard!

The interviews are essential. The media will ask the cheerleaders about certain things, they have to defend the organization, they have to be knowledgeable with the football team, the game itself, and other teams the Cowboys might be facing during the season.
Plus, they go out in public promoting the team and they get more exposure to fans than the players and coaches ever do. They will eventually talk to fans for a long time, and if they ask them about the team, the sport itself, or current events and if they give out stupid answers, then it’s not going to be good for their business.
