*“This generation is so anxious”* More like they’re just chronically online and have to put their iPad/Phone away instead of har4ssing and disrespecting to non-problematic artists
@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoa Again, they are like this because they are anxious. Not saying this to make them look all "poor thing uwu", but you basically said the same thing They are little shits bc of anxiety and they need to keep it together
People need to understand that a person’s online passion project is NOT the same as a corporate studio’s piece of media. Like the levels of barriers between fan and creator or amount of people working on it are nowhere near comparable and that’s why sometimes you may need to reign your behavior in if you’re interacting DIRECTLY with a creator.
@@valentinasgarbi-fb7sm it's awful how people can't control themselves online. The second they think they won't face consequences for anything they say or do, you see who they truly are. The vast majority of people who are toxic and evil online look normal and happy and popular in their circle of friends groups irl. It's because they KNOW what they are doing and saying isn't socially acceptable. And they will face consequences if they were to do something like this publicly. But online they can hide behind anonymity online or claim they were hacked if anyone IRL tries to bring up what they said. It's messed up If you ever see anyone in your circle of friends or something being really terrible online dump them immediately. Because that's who they truly are.
i always found it so weird how people blame creatives for creating something and weird people get into it literally it’s none of our faults these weirdos decided to take this medium we present and twist it in a way
THISSSS, I love zootopia and used to post fanart but i got hate because weirdos would only draw NSFW of the characterd and people thought that I do that to(I only drew fluff) and then the weirdos would come to me and ask for NSFW even after I said I'm a minor and don't draw that. that's why I deleted Instagram💀
Its like saying "well if u dont wanna be robed dont go out". I get what u mean, and it might be true, we know, but its wrong af still and not the fault of the person, ur protecting the criminal wtf
@@sofialaya596yea like why are we blaming the person creating and not the people giving the creator a hard time? Why are we blaming anyone for simply existing and not the folks that are making existing unnecessarily harder? Ig its easier to get the victim to shut up than to make wrong doer do better
New fan here, I just got into this fandom yesterday and I think the story and music are great, and the artist behind the music is really talented. I absolutely hate to see that the fandom devolved into this.
I only found Yaeklokre through Harpy Hare, but I really like their other music now! Sucks that people seem to want to ruin things just because they are trending
Fr, i like this and everything and even though I am interested but it does get a little annoying, BUT it's not hard to be respectful?😭 I still like harpy hare cause I found this through it.
i haven't watched the video but it's something i noticed where people will invent moral reasons to dislike something and not just say "i don't like this thing", especially if it suddenly gets popular. it's very frustrating and i think is generally just bad for people mentally if they constantly feel they need to justify themselves for anything and everything.
I feel so bad for the creator of Yaelokre. I couldn't image having to bear people ruining your creation like that and hating it to hate it. These people wanting to go against the grain and be different by bullying creators are the reason so many people don't share the wonderful things they make, and that's honestly pretty disgusting.
i mentally cannot understand jumping from fandom to fandom so quickly like this. for me, when I find media I like im gripping onto that thing for years.
I have two main fandoms. And other fandoms that come in and out of attention every couple years lmao (Just got out of my creepypasta phase so probably going to be mlp again soon. Or scoop. We shall see)
7:32 THIS IS SOMETHING THATS BEEN BOTHERING ME FOR AWHILE. Why the hell are kids on TikTok? Why the HELL are they blindly trusting every word? They have to think for themselves, to grow, adapt, and NOT trust every word someone says on the internet. Because sometimes the Internet is just full of noise.😭
Parents being ignorant, that’s why. Kids are easily influenced and end up acting just like the people they see online because they don’t know any better, so if they end up in an environment where bullying is normalised they will think that bullying is the go-to option. Their parents should be keeping an eye on their screentime so they don’t get influenced too much, it’s them who need to teach their kids human decency, rather than letting the internet teach for them.
Yeah, I’m old enough for it now (although I don’t use it) but I used to have it when I was too young and completely regret it. Young kids shouldn’t be on tiktok
And they call you “ageist” when you call them out on it 💀💀bitch what fucking age discrimination are you talking about we’re saying it for a REASON we were young on the internet too, our times are NOT that different 😭😭😭
exactly the amount of people i get annoyed by just because they are spewing misinformation IS INSANE, normalize checking sources and doing quick google searches before you spread that misinformation
I got into their music from harpyhare (finding it on Spotify) since my brain went “OMG MORE FANTASY TYPE MUSIC YIPPY” then suddenly a short appeared and I was like “omg it’s got lore?” Then…ppl started randomly hating on it and I have never wanted to gate keep something more in my LIFE. Like people HATE joy and whimsy or just anything like mfs could be like “I like thing” n mfs would be like “I HATE that thing and you are a bad person for liking it.” LIKE BRO OH MY GOD JUST ENJOY SMTH YOU ABSOLUTE WET NAPKIN
people not being able to dislike things normally is weird. them not going "mmm not for me" and then skipping away is confusing, and absolutely is the texture of like damp velvet.
not to mention the absolute. TALENT. it takes to be able to consistently sing in the different voices Yalokre uses for each of the characters, that is what impresses me the most. honestly at first i thought it was multiple people singing, but nope! all one really talented person
The fandom drama is proof that media literacy is dying at an alarming rate as people take headcanons and personal interpretations as fact without once thinking to consult the direct source, the creator. Kieth has made something truly wonderful and intriguing and I hope they’re not so offput by this mess that they step away for good.
I found Harpy Hare in recommended videos on RUclips and found it really personal, I had no idea the wider internet had cast such a shadow over the project, that's awful. I really hope the creator is able to feel better soon.
Same with me. I found the animated video from Yaelokres channel and loved it because of the general style of the music and the art, and I found it beautiful. It really is a shame it’s gotten so popular, too fast
It really makes me sad how people refuse to give an opportunity to wonderful projects like yaelokre, or even hate on them so intensely just because they are popular and they want to feel different, they even dare to insult the creator when they didn't do anything problematic. People on tiktok are so used to the app being their only way to communicate with others that they lack basic empathy, it seems to be a trend now to think that EVERYTHING is cringe and believing that it gives you the right to hate others just for doing what they like, it makes me sick.
Also, I don't usually engage in fandoms because people tend to be pretty intense and i find it overwhelming to see so many people talking about the same thing, even if they don't do anything toxic, i don't know how to explain it, but hating a creator because of their fandom is simply dumb. Keath seems to be a really sweet person and, as you said, very talented, so i just hope this wave of hate goes away and they can go on.
After reading this I realized these people are anti-sues irl. I think i'm going insane but Yaelokre is great I like the art style and I hope all the hate goes away.
I really don't like it because I'm just not into fantasy stuff and I keep hearing the song, it's really overplayed to me but that's bc I don't enjoy listening to stuff I'm not interested in over and over, am I a bad person for that? :(/gen/lh (btw as an artist I really appreciate the creator of it, it's really hard to do art and music and I respect them :3)
@@arwenarwenarwenx3 No you aren't a terrible person sometimes you aren't interested in a trend but it keeps popping up over and over and over again and I know how that feels so you do you and just try to ignore it (also their art style is really nice)
As a creator, this is probably one of my biggest fears: im scared to sharemy ideas and projects because of what people might think. I feel like they will either hate stuff to the point of bullying or love it to the point of mischaracterize it. Or you know the third secret option where no one cares and it feels like all my effort was for nothing. Being bullied and taken advantage of for my creativity as a child is probably why I think this way but uh, YeaAH
this. after watching this fandom and how its falling im so terrified to publush my books and stuff. even now when i put my art up on display so many call it ugly bc my hands dont work properly and im not like. the top ten greatest artest.
I FUCKING RELATE WITH THIS. I remember working on a song called Distant Goodbyes. Something based off a story I WROTE. I was bullied in 6th grade. And the character of the song is about helped me get through it and is the reason my username is Bella_Daze😭 but during the song’s production, it felt like people were pulling me left and right and using me for my creativity. It felt like the thing I wanted to spark joy sparking conflict instead… and I feel like that’s how the creator feels. It was blood, sweat and tears to get that original song out alongside my short film. I’m nervous on sharing some of my world and the lore I have because of how toxic and noisy the internet can be. Because when people hate on something sometimes, they’re just trying to fill the noise. I wish the creator the best 😭
I think about this sort of stuff near daily! The fact that we even have to fear about the people outside of our work ruining it for everyone is such a damn shame. I’ve had these characters and stories since I was a little kid, the thought of people running wild and completely mischaracterizing it is what I fear the most.
I feel for Yaelokre. As someone who has a few passion projects I usually share with a small audience of friends and mutuals my worst nightmare is this project becoming twisted outside of its intended borders and meaning. Sharing work online is not an invitation for people to twist and bend this story or headworld to their liking. It is Yaelokres work and characters. Theyre sharing their works with the world and not for people to take their ideas and hard work to ruin it for them (referencing the proshipping stuff and people making up lore for Yaelokres characters). Artists get so much disrespect, it’s saddening.
true and I feel like more people need to understand that you don't need to share your every opinion and feelings online. Like if you decided to come up with your own random lore for someone else's oc's because it made you happy, okay cool fine that's not the end of the world, but why can't you keep it to yourself and enjoy it by yourself? Why are you sharing it online when it's not your story or characters? Not that there's anything wrong with fan-fiction but there are ways to be respectful about it, and spreading your fanfiction as if it's factual and confirmed lore by the creator is really disrespectful and spreads misinformation
I personally think the worst thing about all of this, is how people will tell you straight to your face (or straight to your pfp) that, "that's just how the internet is, get used to it". Or people trying to rationalize ho often and massively an artist's work is corrupted beyond their original intent and purpose? Like yeah people are going to have their own perceptions on things, and sometime the person that's in the wrong isn't the audience but the creator themself, but that doesn't justify deliberately coming up with hardly connected bull in place of the actual story. I really, really hate the idea that someone isn't capable of being an artist/creator if they can't handle their beloved works being warped. There's a huge difference between someone unable to handle the different perspectives that'll come from viewing their work, and someone fighting just to keep even a fragment of their original work from being distorted beyond recognition. Like flanderization but on a fandom scale. It's not wrong or selfish or stupid to want to preserve any meaning you put in your works. It's not wrong for an audience to expand or highlight, to question or break down your message, either. But acting as if "death of the author" is inevitable and the author's intentions mean nothing is honestly just shitty. Again, some creators may have bad intentions with the works they put into the world, like spreading propaganda or enabling a hate campaign, or...idk, trying to make pdf ilia romantic somehow. But that cannot justify the way people basically become "history fictionologists" (from HSR) around things they could just choose not to interact with.
When you’re not on TikTok stuff like this really usually doesn’t get to you, I was following them on instagram and liked their art but had no idea there was any drama at all until I saw another video about it. TikTok is truly crazy and I’m glad I’m not on there cus I went on Spotify and I liked the songs and the art is good I can’t believe TikTok made so much drama
Literally I think people being on tiktok is rotting their brain in a way. With the randomized algorithm evoking different emotions, it might be unhealthy. People are getting upset about ANYTHING because they lack brain capacity.
i'm so glad i stopped using tiktok ... it's been over 3 months since i last used it and i feel better not seeing drama like this all the time. i can just enjoy what i like without seeing what the trends want me to like or anything ...
same, i don't have tiktok, just followed them on instagram and had no idea they were so popular or had any kind of fandom. Recently one of their posts came up on my feed and the comments were full of people saying they were sorry what happened with the fans, i was so confused
RUclips recommendations led _me_ to Yaelokre, I was SO out of the loop I thought it was a folk band that'd been around for a while like the Oh Hellos or somethin. I heard Harpy Hare, loved it, put it on my playlist, and didn't investigate further. That is until I see THIS vid in my recommended. I won't pretend RUclips doesn't rule my life, but sometimes I just think... thank god it's not Tiktok.
Look man, I’m a nsfw artist sometimes. It’s fun as hell. HOWEVER, if a creator of a series explicitly says “hey, I don’t like this. This isn’t something I condone. Please stop”, you stop. It’s just out of decency and respect. A content creator I draw nsfw of their series of in my free time has stated that he doesn’t mind, and therefore it’s fine to draw it for funnies, but when someone states that they’re uncomfortable and don’t consent to their characters being sexualized NO MEANS NO. EDIT because people keep misconstruing what I say and I’d rather not spend the next 10 years responding to individual messages lmao: 1. I fully believe in sexual expression being important for self discovery and just general well-being (in those that feel the want for sexual activity, ofc people on the aroace spec are different). Sexual expression is great when it doesn’t harm anybody and can be a good way to cope with different traumas. I’m extremely sex positive both on and off the internet, hence the yknow “I’m literally a nsfw artist myself” thing 💀 2. I’m not saying you’re literally banned from drawing nsfw of things that are popular or that you’d like to regardless of the creator’s wishes. I can’t control you. Nobody can control you. You have freedom of expression, but that doesn’t give you freedom from social consequences. Just like how it’s in your right to draw nsfw of other people’s OCs when they’ve explicitly they dislike it , it’s my right to say you’re weird asf for that and I’d rather not associate with you 3. THIS IS MY OPINION. THIS IS MY TAKE. I AM ONE GOOFBALL ON THE INTERNET. I stand strongly on this and I’m passionate about it, not because I want to be “one of the good ones”, but because I believe that even in art, consent matters and if you’re drawing shit of a nonconsenting party’s characters, you’re weird asf for that and I’d rather not associate with you!! 4. I’m not saying you can’t draw nsfw of more taboo subjects. If it’s not incest, beastiality, pedophilia, non-consensual (CNC not included, if proper consent is established and enforced) , etc etc I DO NOT CARE. I’m not trying to be like the overlord of purity or anything💀 you’re allowed to be weird and horny on the internet It’s just generally really not that hard to just respect a creator’s wishes. If you want to make nsfw of a character but the creator is uncomfortable with it, make a goddamn OC… It’s wild how many people are defending nsfw artists that disregard others’ feelings and reactions to what they do, and I’m incredibly concerned that SO many people seem to have that ideology.
@@AstronomicalJelly oh well yeah 100% 😭 fanart of incest, beastiality, n pedophilia shit is immediately off limits because it’s clearly morally reprehensible, even if the creator is okay with it. (coughs. the creator of The Coffin of Andy and LeyLey…)
@@equally.marketable coffin of andy and leyley has one of the worst and disgusting fandom i've ever seen. Its just as cringe as loud house and oshi no ko fandom. Like i don't get why so many of them are okay with 1nc3st
How can people hate on something so calming tho? I understand how something like Hazbin could attract a lot of haters but how can someone look at an innocent folkband and go: *If I have to look at this again I will destroy everything around me* chill
Despite the Yaelokre fandom going down within WEEKS, I feel like this should be a learning experience for everyone! If anyone is planning to join a fandom, remember to respect the creator, take things fans say with a grain of salt (like Emma said in the video), and that not everything in the fandom is gonna be perfect. I hope Keath is doing okay and this video is amazing, as always, Emma! (I love your art!) 🧡
“GRR THE OBSCURE INDIE ARTIST WITH A PASSION PROJECT ACTUALLY BECAME POPULAR AND THEIR WORK IS RECOGNISED AND LOVED BY OTHERS ITS NOT FAIR” is what I assume how their brain chemistry works😭
I really don't like it because I'm just not into fantasy stuff and I keep hearing the song, it's really overplayed to me but that's bc I don't enjoy listening to stuff I'm not interested in over and over, am I a bad person for that? :(/gen/lh
@@arwenarwenarwenx3 I’m talking about more of the people who are like “oh well I never liked it in the first place! It was bad anyway!” If it’s not your style that is completely understandable!
I personally hate how its like, if you have something that becomes popular then its expected to have a discord , but finding mods who arent secretly the worst people ever, or even members who are causing trouble like. 'Hey you have like 8k members, how did you not know about what a member did in dm's?' It would make me crawl up on walls.
ive literally never heard of this art project and its gone through an entire discovery-obsession-cancellation-harassment cycle. i feel so bad for keath.
It annoys me when people act like saying not to draw nsfw of young characters or of another persons OCs is an “infringement on an artists creativity” like no one‘s telling you not to draw it but you don’t have to post it on the Internet for everyone to see 💀 especially if the creator is asking you to stop, and then they act like the artist is “too sensitive” as if that entire idea is not just an excuse to ignore people’s feelings so they can do what they want without backlash
Yeah as someone who has friends who draw a lot of NSFW stuff, please, just be respectful!!!! Nobody's forcing you not to draw it, just make sure you post it in a way that's easily filtered and keep to your own spaces unless it's clear the creator is fine with it. It's not that hard. It's general politeness, there's a time and place for everything.
And honestly if the person you're drawing nsfw "fan" content of becomes the person you're calling "sensitive"...pack it up baby. At that point what are you doing? Is it really that hard to not sexualize children and teens, regardless of whether they're real or not? They are children, that concept shouldn't be hard to understand. This "freedom of expression" doesn't come at the cost of children and how horribly they're sexualized to every single degree, twin ponytails and school uniforms and lollipops and even underwear with designs that look like they belong on a baby diaper. Leave them alone, and stop using "they aren't real" as an excuse. Reality and fiction may not be one in the same, but they do not exist separately or in a void. Reality influences fiction, as can fiction influence reality. It is infinitely more easy to just draw nsfw of stuff that is "allowed"/the creator(s) have no problem with, than to force yourself in a fandom where it's explicitly unwanted just for your own selfishness. Not everybody wants sex or sexuality in their work-that doesn't make them "prudish" or arrogant or even "mentally messed up", it just means they don't want to see it. The same way those artists have the choice to draw nsfw of whatever they want, that same freedom and choice also belongs to those that don't want it around them. It's not like they're some random fan who's like 13 and bossing people around online for drawing nsfw, they're the creator themself.
i was listening to harpy hare not too long before this was uploaded‼️‼️ i hate it when people just hate for no reason just to seem different or “cool.” hating to the point of the creator switching platforms and even having to leave the internet for a bit is absurd and they should all be disappointed in themselves. the artwork is stunning btw!!
I was wondering why Harpy Hare sounded familiar to me when it was trending and then I saw that I was already following them for a long time already 😂😂😂 and then I remembered
It’s so odd how people treat fandom nowadays, especially on TikTok. It’s like there’s some kind of value system to liking a piece of media and you have to vet the fandom for its purity and unproblematicness and a thousand other made-up factors to like it, and it becomes a status symbol instead of just a THING THAT YOU ENJOY. I’m sorry but genuinely, if the art and music is good and you enjoy it, why tf does it matter if the moderators on a discord were bad?? Why does it matter what random other people (that the creator doesn’t even approve of) are saying and drawing about it? Fandom is supposed to just be a place where people share their passion for a topic they love, not a competition. Also it’s a weird thing to go to individual creators and put more pressure on them to be responsible for their fandom than major media. I feel for the creator, because I understand wanting to be close to the fandom and watch people enjoy what you’ve made, but unfortunately I think the more “accessible” you allow yourself to be, the more people think they’re entitled to your time and energy. ONE person cannot personally manage an entire fandom, and honestly, it is NOT their responsibility. I wish folks would stop with the weird parasocial expectations of people like this.
Im so glad that yaelokre is not trending anymore because the fandom is back as what it was. People respect Keath the creator now and all the horrible people have left
I was so confused when I heard whispers of drama with Yaelokre, and of course, it had to come from TikTok. I don’t have it so I didn’t know but god, this whole situation inFURIATES me. It was already icky enough with Welcome Home, but now they’re speedrunning it??? I feel so bad for Yaelokre, their story is wonderful, and it deserves its space to breathe and truly expand into the whimsical world it’s meant to be. I absolutely hate that misinformation and unnecessary hate is being targeted toward them. Here’s to hoping they can get to relax and that the surge dies down a little :[
RUclips recommended me Yaelokre's "Happy Hare" song a week ago. I love the song and the style of their art so much (I'm a graphic designer and digital artist). I started to hear their others songs as well and they got me... i susbcribed to their channel. I was making the trend with my art and now that I see this drama and how it affected Yaelokre... i feel bad now. It inspired me a lot. I hope they get well and not let those cruel people bring down their dreams. Yaelokre, you are an amazing musician and artist, keep making this wonderful piece of art. Greetings from Chile
Honestly, I’m so glad Emma explained this. I haven’t seen the drama itself, just people saying something happened and it was very difficult to find out what was going on
I shared Yaeklore with my Tia and both me and her were LOVING their songs. They’re whimsical, catchy, and above all the songs have heart. TikTok is so toxic, in fact I hadn’t seen ANY hate for this creator UNTILL it popped up on my fyp. Because of how easy it is to post a quick 5 sec video on TikTok, and anyone can do so, the rage bait becomes easy to flood into the fandom. I wish people can be normal, but sadly they can’t. I do hope they continue to post things on surface level, and don’t let these obnoxious people ruin this wonderful passion project.
The whole yaelokre situation is so sad. They had a lot of potential for so much bigger things. And now we don’t even know if they’re coming back. All because of a string of unfortunate events. I wish Keith the best of luck. Whether they return or not. We will always remember the impeccable imprint they’ve left on our lives. I feel so sorry that this happened to someone who never did anything to anyone. He was quite literally a diamond in the rough.
I would probably call it flash Fandoms, cause it doesn't imply that the media is poor quality, but it also gives you the idea that the Fandom got really big & loud for a minute before fizzling out.
I watched a video on how "some thoughts should stay inside" is slowly becoming not a thing anymore and i feel like this is exactly that. People are allowed to be contrarian and whatever they wanna be, as long as they're not broadcasting it to everyone at all times. I have my own thoughts of "I don't wanna watch this show because it's too popular right now" but I'd never harass any person over these thoughts
as a nsfw artist, the excuse that "it's on the internet so i can do whatever i want" only works with comercial content. sure, go ahead and draw deadpool fucking wolverine if you want, who cares. BUT the moment there's a *small* creator setting a boundary???? that is not just content, that is their project, their ocs, and not respecting that is NASTY. having said that, the creator of welcome home wasn't against nsfw fanart, they just didn't personally want to see it, which despite what people think does not mean they were uncomfortable with it???? they're actually so chill!! and created a hashtag to separate the nsfw from the sfw (mostly to protect younger fans) and i think that's a great way to handle it! but people began to clutch their pearls, infantilizing them and spreading the rumour that nsfw artists were making them SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! nah, not liking nsfw doesn't automatically mean it makes you uncomfortable, and they explained that, but puriteens will be puriteens i guess
Define small creator. How large does a fandom have to be before they don't have the right to put cuffs on my hands over what I might want to draw even though it wouldn't be dm'd to the creator. These are genuinely important questions because at a certain point, no. They're not OCs anymore. Its a fandom. It's something for a group to enjoy what the originator thought up. So if not at the time of first upload for the semi-intended fandom(which makes most sense to me), how many people before your rules expire?
@@ItsAllNunya it's not really about how many people like it, more like how comercial it is. If a corporation made it, you're free to do whatever you want. And that's the problem (for me), personal oc projects shouldn't have fandoms in my opinion
@@valta2760 so nobody should like a personal oc project? Because a fandom is just a group of people who like a thing. The only way for that not to happen is for it to never be posted. We fundamentally disagree on how fandoms work. That's the core of this.
i draw nsfw too and youre so right and i agree with all of this. i am actually genuinely so terrified by the rise of puritanism but with a “progressive” slant, because funnily enough it doesn’t affect just fandom discourse but the real world too puritanism time and time again hurts minorities and it’s disappointing to see it make a comeback except its “progressive and liberal uwu!!”
The fandom is slowly healing and i hope keath will be able to continue doing their thing in peace because their amazing as an artist and look like a very sweet person who deserve to be left alone. So , KEATH AND MEDOWLARK PROTECTION SQUAD , ASSEMBLE
Yaelokre deserve all the good things. The hate train just for the sake of "being different" is ridiculous especially bc this creator seriously put alot of effort and love into their art forms. One person doing 4 entirely new vocals as different characters? Thats seriously impressive
After seeing what happened with Yaelorke, hearing about what happened with Welcome Home and Fundamental Paper Education, fuck, even learning what happened with Chappell Roan, big fanbases/fandoms are the LAST thing anyone should want to have, epsecially if you are working something like a passion project or just making something you want to get out there (art, music, books, etc.) It's also upsetting to see as somebody who has a lot of passion projects and actually WANT to get them out there. I might as well keep the shit to myself, honestly.
Best advice is to not use TikTok. EVER. Anything that blows up on TikTok is not going to end well, (Welcome home, paper education, etc) especially if it’s a passion project by a small creator.
i literally just love the song and aesthetic and lore. i never even thought of it as a trend, i just thought of it as a story told through music, like a musical.
keath occasionally livestreams on insta and the amount of people that beg them to play harpy hare, even when the streams aren’t even about meadowlark most of the time genuinely upsets me
It is so interesting to see creators pop out of nowhere. Up until yesterday, I hadn't heard of them, I found them through Picrew, and that was that. Earlier today, I had their Harpy Hare song come up on Spotify. It is like a fever dream watching this video as it is so surreal to me that this video was released today.
i've loved Yaelokre's music for a while now, i remember them only having like a couple hundred followers at best on youtube, i've just kinda been vibing enjoying the music and pretty art- i had no clue tiktok was doing this shit. i don't use tiktok so hearing all this is going on is like getting hit over the head with a comically large mallet. people need to learn to be normal about things for once
what the hell?? i got the harpy hare mv recommended to me on youtube a while back and was instantly charmed by the music and art, and have just been enjoying the songs in my own private little hole :'0 i had no idea there even WAS a fandom, much less that there's this much drama. fuckin wild
I’ve been listening to Yaelokre since before they became very popular, I found them just a few days after they released hayfields. I was so happy to finally find some good folk music that fills me with so much life… but I didnt expect them to blow up like they did and now I can’t even tell people at school I like them, lest I get made fun of. They are such a talented person, but people are treating it like a trend and I feel so bad for the actual person behind the music, Keath. I wish this fandom hadn’t grown so fast, it makes it hard for the real fans who have been listening since the beginning and who are willing to stay with Yaelokre and see what else it has to offer. Of course, just because I’ve been listening longer doesn’t make newer people less of a fan, I just see a lot of them moving on after a month or so. Sorry for the edits, I can’t spell xD
It really sucks that all this happened. Yaelokre/Keath is an INSANELY talented and creative person. I was part of their Discord server for a while before they decided to take it down. As a writer/artist myself, their work is so inspiring, and I ADORE their message. Stories are powerful and important. Time passes, things change, but stories are forever. By retelling stories over and over, you keep what’s important from being forgotten. I am glad Yaelokre is getting attention. But this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that scares me as a creator myself. I often worry “will people actually like what I make”? But something I honestly worry about even more is, “What if people do like it, but it still all goes wrong somehow? What if they take my passion for granted? What if they twist my words? What if they destroy this thing I’ve put my entire heart into?” It often seems like nothing innocent and beautiful is allowed to just exist. Some people will see a butterfly, and kill it to display on their wall, rather than just allowing it to live it’s life and be beautiful and create more beautiful things by helping to pollinate plants and flowers. If it’s not already clear enough, I’m using this as a metaphor for artists and their work. It seems like any time someone has genuine talent and passion, there are those who will do literally ANYTHING to stomp it out of them. It’s awful. But with all that said, I definitely don’t think Yaelokre is “ruined”. It’s still an amazing story, with amazing art, and amazing music. Keath still seems just as passionate as always, and I don’t see them giving up any time soon. It sucks that half of the fandom is so toxic and doesn’t seem to have even the slightest idea what Keath’s music is actually about, or what the message of their story is, or what ACTUALLY makes the project so good. But I’m glad that there is still the other half of the fandom, which just genuinely admires Keath’s talents, enjoys their music, and wants to support them in telling the beautiful story they’ve worked so hard on.
I’m so glad that a bunch of people have left some of my favorite fandoms, I’m not on many socials but my small area of the WH and yaeklore fandom are very calm and unproblematic. I wish people would stop ruining fandoms and giving them bad reps within a week of being found and becoming popular bc it ruins it for the rest of us who are just trying to enjoy the art.
Kind of crazy how the only people who are obsessed with the drama on TikTok are those on TikTok. I have not heard a peep of this drama until yt creators commented on it. I guess it goes to show how much of an echo chamber that app can be. I hope Yaelokre’s fandom and their passion for their project becomes stronger regardless
6:07 Idk about you- I don’t care what anyone says, but I’m going to gently hold this illustration. LOOK AT THEM. LOOK AT THEM. They are so adorable here. Gently holding this😭😭❤❤❤❤
I was in the yaeklore fandom, but I didn’t change my pfp to any of the yakelore characters on tiktok cause I was matching with my bf, but watching it from the sidelines was so chaotic 😭
Sometimes the internet can be so toxic FOR ABSOLUTLY NO REASON. People seriously need to stop being mean and believing everything they see, it just makes everything worse. Yaelokre has honestly so much talent and doesn't deserve all this shenanigans :(
Man I didn't evn know there was a fandom. I was happily enjoying the music in my little corner and then suddenly get slapped by information about the drama that's been happening.
I started listening to Yaelokre a little before they blew up in tiktok and holy shit it felt like Welcome Home all over again. I still follow both artists and I can never get over how bad I feel for the both of them for how their fandoms have treated their work just because they didn’t have a lot out there yet 😕
I’ve been waiting for this video. It’s so scary how all the drama happened in less than a month. Me and my friend found Yaelokre in the early stage and witnessed everything in real time. I’m really happy that it got a lot of attention but not the negativity it came with
12:27 - I honestly hate when people use logic like this because expecting/accepting strangers sexualizing your original characters ( especially when they’re children ) should NOT be a prerequisite to posting your art online… like how rotted do you have to be to genuinely think like that.
I TRULY HOPE THEY SEE THIS VIDEO BECAUSE YOU SPOKE FOR EVERYONE EMMA!! I really hope yaelokre keeps going and working on this passion project because it is truly something beautiful! ❤
yaelokre seems like such a beautiful little world that is so whimsical. i could feel the love the creator put into the lore and creation of the world and characters even though i’ve only seen about one video of it. it sucks that they got so much attention so fast, i don’t even know what i’d do in that situation. to be such a creative person and to share it to the brutal online landscape takes a lot of courage and it’s really upsetting it was built up and torn down so quickly. i hope that they are able to find their people soon and share it to those who will cherish and appreciate it.
I absolutely loved Yaelokre when i found it through the early times of the harpy hare trend, and i admit to not recognizing them UNTIL that trend, BUT I absolutely hate the ragebait and arguments in the newly formed fandom. Looking through their other videos and shorts, i find their lore and story behind the music a really interesting concept that feels new and unexplored. Original.
It's absolutely fine that you only discovered through a trend. As long as you're not spreading hate or being toxic it doesn't make you any less of a fan
As someone who plans to dabble in nsfw art when I actually reach 18 I NEVER understood why people commit to making nsfw of specific media like there is so much content out there with similar themes that accepts and even WELCOMES nsfw art so….why not just…yk..MAKE IT OF THAT it baffles me, and if you absolutely HAVE TO you can yk…KEEP IT TO YOURSELF
LITERALLYYYYY I'm in the same boat as you and I find it so weird how bitches are ALWAYS picking shit like some person's passion project they stated they DON'T want people to make NSFW for or specifcially the children from a piece of media to make NSFW of. And at that, SHARE it?? It's literal blasphemy how people just can't find some piece of media with ADULTS, or you know, MAKE THEIR OWN CHARACTERS, to make NSFW of instead. It literally cannot be that hard.
I feel like a lot of people joined fandom culture during quarantine and hadn't ever really thought of it positively or interacted with it in a healthy way before then. I know I learned a lot of fandom lessons early in life and decided to mostly avoid fandom culture all together except for a few exceptions such as Tamagotchi and Rement. But a lot of fandom spaces have taken on an extremely obsessively entitled energy. The kind where people need to feel above others by directly centering themselves with the creator. Especially with these small quickly growing fandoms. I can only imagine how some of these fans are trying to get close to these fantastic artists to get above everyone else and don't really intend on having a real connection to the creator in a healthy way. I really hope that the fans settle down and separate their love for the art from their extremely high and overly ambitious morals/expectations for the creator. Even with Chappell Roan I just see her getting torn apart for what she chooses to wear while performing and for her outspoken nature. I really think a lot of these fans need to be ignored until they can act respectfully. But unfortunately the culture of TikTok allows their lies and expectations to get projected in extreme ways very quickly. Which I am very tired of. I still see people talk about the "rendering process" reference and stuff it's so disheartening.
Ironically a lot of the super obsessive fandom people I know now were the ones who kind of bullied me out of my love for anime and niche characters as a kid. Then suddenly I see them interacting with it more openly than I do after healing and allowing myself to enjoy these things again. But at least I went from being a weird weeb kid to someone cool LMAOO
Its just wild to me that these things can happen so fast because they got to a fandom early. I WISH i had gotten to some of my longer form fandoms early because to me being a part of the journey and *SLOWLY* discovering the lore and theorizing is part of the fun. To have a fandom break apart because it got there so early and got hungry for information is just irresponsible fandom consumption like jeezus chill haha.
(LONG COMMENT): Some people need to realize that you do not need to create reasons (that I've seen are sometimes fabricated, unsubstantial, or just plain stupid) to dislike something. You can dislike it without trying to create something on the top of your head to validate yourself and then enforce it onto other people like they should think the same. Sure, it's an opinion and you have the right to share it but if you have the intention of spreading unnecessary hate towards unproblematic artists, you better not complain when people return the same energy because it's common sense if you're rude for no reason, you should expect the same reaction back
I found Yaeklokre through Harpy Hare and fell in love with this whimsy and almost fairytale like world made. It reminded me of little nightmares but mixed in with classic dark fairytales. I hate fandom drama, I hate toxic fandoms. I really do… I hate how people are in a way burning themselves out. SLOW DOWN PEOPLE. Enjoy the new piece of media you found. ENJOY IT. Don’t rush through it😭 gonna listen to the other songs the artist has! ❤❤❤
I love how I knew exactly what your art was referencing from the rough sketch. So many nights of staring endlessly at ispy books have finally payed off 😅
soooo starting from about 9:40 the entire video divolves into. misinformation. The final straw to the official yaelokre server being deleted was a massive (and I mean Massive) argument regarding systems and DID that occurred there. The rest of the things mentioned were added reasons but the cricket system was a reason, not the cause.
Sucks that there are thousands of people faking DID in fandoms, like genuinely every fandom I see has people pretending to have it. And the moment someone calls them out on it they get called ableists. It's nuts.
This is eddsworld all over again. People need to let others be happy, I just feel so sad for Yaelokre . 🌹🌸 Edit #1: Thank you so much for the likes! 🥰 Here's your gifts!: 🌸🪻🌺🐥🐝🦋🍯💌🍄💮🌸🪷💝💋🐢🐸🦝🐶🐱
@@Duckssss.... The fans harassed the creators, especially Tord Larrson and Tomska. But for more information I suggest you search up 'Eddsworld Fandom Drama'.
I also think it's interesting that a good portion of these fandoms that get targeted by the "hate anything for any/no reason crowd" tend to originally be full of queer or neurodivergent people (especially kids!!). Obviously this is not always the case but I tend to see a lot of things labeled as "cringe" when people are just living their lives and enjoying it while building community with others like them. It's very sad to see and I deeply wish things like TikTok didn't amplify this to a thousand :(
I've loved Yaelokre for a while (BEFORE Harpy Hare which I'm proud of) and I don't understand why so many people hate it? It's such good storytelling even though they've only released around 6 songs - I think.
Finally someone explains why and what the hell is going on ! Everyone keeps saying "These people made Yaeklokre temporarily quit" and when someone would ask why It's radio silence.
12:49 This is why I’m NERVOUS about sharing the lore and world I have😭😭😭 I don’t want my project to be the cause of people fighting. All I want as a storyteller is to make the viewer connect with what I’ve made. I want to bring joy, but I’m scared it’ll sew discord instead. I honestly sympathize with the creators, I don’t blame them for having the reactions they did. It’s like people tugging you too many ways at once, and eventually the thing that brings you joy is bringing misery instead. I’m speaking from personal experience here… 😭 so I know a general idea of WHAT the creators would feel like after blowing up so quickly
It’s gonna be alright! You can share your fictional creation.I am about to do the same later as well. I am also horrified of the internet It’s gonna be ok,you should share your stories Just don’t own Twitter or TikTok
damn, tiktok is really out here creating fast-fashion fandoms. I feel like an old lady yelling at the clouds, "in my times, we stayed in the same fandom for years, with barely any new content, and we were happy!!" I just got to know this whole drama thing yesterday (I listened to the songs before without knowing the background lmao), but a thing that jumps to me is that the current online landscape is no healthy for creators... There had always been looneys in fandoms, but in the past there was a more tangible veil between singers/writers/creators and their fans, you couldn't just reach them with a tweet or a discord message. The other is that Yaelokre seems really protective and emotionally invested in their characters, which made me go "oh boy, this won't end well, step away from the socials!! You're so talented and they will destroy you!" Like, there is a common rule in the publishing industry where writers are recommended not to read reviews or overly engage in fan stuff, because it can really mess up the perception of your own work. People naturally take the stuff you create it with so much effort and will chew, spit it, break it in new shapes, and be messy with it; it is the nature of releasing anything into the world... so yeah, the best bet is to maintain a modicum of distance or the millions of comments you receive will drive you mad.
Im apart of the Yaelokre fandom, and even i can say its SO suffocating. People taking such a fun little story and then twisting it and making stuff up about it even though very little information has been revealed is just plain annoying and rude. I feel so bad for the creator that their once small passion project grew out of their control so fast :(
i was initially super happy yaelokre was gaining traction especially since it’s not everyday that such a niche artist from my home country gets so big plus. ive been listening to them since their ren faire performance, but seeing how quickly the fandom blew up and exploded over work that is so personal to the creator made me feel so disheartened:( the new generation of fandom is so quick to grab and run. i wish we could sit down, appreciate, and explore media at a normal pace again, especially when it’s something that’s meant to be told slowly as is with yaelokre’s lore and stories
I've been a fan before all this, and its so sad seeing them get hate when the music/story is actually really are good, people just hate it now cuz it's trending
I found yaelokre through RUclips because I'm no longer on tiktok (bullied off the app lol) and I genuinely feel so bad for them. I get so overwhelmed when I see even 2 notifications within the span on 5 minutes because of how much the Internet effected me. I can't even imagine what it'll do to them. I really hope they can get better, and take the time they need for themselves.
I really hope Chappel Roan's actions lately can help change the way fans get so crazy over celebrities and fandoms to the point where they ruin creators' lives
I love Yaelokre and i wouldn’t have discovered it if it weren’t for tiktok, (i discovered it in the first couple days when it started to blow up,) but everything seemed so fast. One day it was a fun, growing community, and the next it was surrounded by controversy and weird people. I feel so bad for the creator :(
I am a big fan of Yaelokre, having found them through Spotify recommending their music to me. I fell in love with the story and world their music created and joined the discord when it was still small. When the Harpy Hare music video came out I was so excited. It’s one of my favourites in the EP and seeing it come to life through Keath’s art was incredible. I could see the fandom growing rapidly and fearing for the well being of Keath especially as I saw people in the discord feeling unsafe and wanting to move away from topics that they didn’t want to be in. I was one of the first to make a LarkSona along side others on tumblr, I have been listening to their music since their first month. I don’t take superiority here. I am no more important than a newer fan, but I can say that I witnessed it all. I saw a small community grow so fast, I’ll probably see it shrink again at some point, but all I know for certain is that I’ll be here singing in the fields and supporting this project along side the other Wonder Folk. (Edit: Spelling)
Before the internet, and even in its early days, the amount of effort needed to find art you really liked was intense. I’m glad that it’s not so hard anymore, but maybe we’ve overshot the mark a bit with platforms like tiktok. The effort of finding an artist once acted as a self-selecting process. Most people who might once have found a project like this back in the 90’s would have had a lot more buy-in to the process. Meadowlark is obviously a very niche creation. It’s been done a disservice by treating it like the dross of public slop.
I love harpy hare so much and i even made a mask based of off Yaelokre. (I'm not a therian, i just thought it would be fun) it's sad that it got this treatment:/
I don't have TikTok and I have known Yaelokre before the whole universe blew up. I learned through my little brother about the nfsw stuff people have made up. And since then, I was just extremely confused by the whole situation.. Thanks for the video, it was probably the least hateful and the most useful one I have seen about this subject!
This generation is so anxious and in a hurry, even Fandom drama is happening fast
*“This generation is so anxious”*
More like they’re just chronically online and have to put their iPad/Phone away instead of har4ssing and disrespecting to non-problematic artists
@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoa Again, they are like this because they are anxious. Not saying this to make them look all "poor thing uwu", but you basically said the same thing
They are little shits bc of anxiety and they need to keep it together
Yeah you know having 10 ideas pumped into you a minute can make someone anxious.
I really feel this is something that makes this generation unique.
“this generation” *oh so you’re a millennial………… big surprise*
Wait what do you mean by anxious?
People need to understand that a person’s online passion project is NOT the same as a corporate studio’s piece of media. Like the levels of barriers between fan and creator or amount of people working on it are nowhere near comparable and that’s why sometimes you may need to reign your behavior in if you’re interacting DIRECTLY with a creator.
even studio projects should be treated with some respect, there were humans working on it who deserve just as much care
TRUEEE, it's awful how you cant control people online
@@valentinasgarbi-fb7sm it's awful how people can't control themselves online. The second they think they won't face consequences for anything they say or do, you see who they truly are. The vast majority of people who are toxic and evil online look normal and happy and popular in their circle of friends groups irl. It's because they KNOW what they are doing and saying isn't socially acceptable. And they will face consequences if they were to do something like this publicly.
But online they can hide behind anonymity online or claim they were hacked if anyone IRL tries to bring up what they said. It's messed up
If you ever see anyone in your circle of friends or something being really terrible online dump them immediately. Because that's who they truly are.

i always found it so weird how people blame creatives for creating something and weird people get into it
literally it’s none of our faults these weirdos decided to take this medium we present and twist it in a way
THISSSS, I love zootopia and used to post fanart but i got hate because weirdos would only draw NSFW of the characterd and people thought that I do that to(I only drew fluff) and then the weirdos would come to me and ask for NSFW even after I said I'm a minor and don't draw that. that's why I deleted Instagram💀
I think they know it well but they just want to hate on something, “bad fandom” is just an “excuse” for har4ssing artists 💀

I’ve been listening to Yaelokre since before they became popular and I’m happy they finally got attention but it’s sad they got it like this

i haven't watched the video but it's something i noticed where people will invent moral reasons to dislike something and not just say "i don't like this thing", especially if it suddenly gets popular. it's very frustrating and i think is generally just bad for people mentally if they constantly feel they need to justify themselves for anything and everything.
I feel so bad for the creator of Yaelokre. I couldn't image having to bear people ruining your creation like that and hating it to hate it. These people wanting to go against the grain and be different by bullying creators are the reason so many people don't share the wonderful things they make, and that's honestly pretty disgusting.

Their parents should be keeping an eye on their screentime so they don’t get influenced too much, it’s them who need to teach their kids human decency, rather than letting the internet teach for them.

people not being able to dislike things normally is weird. them not going "mmm not for me" and then skipping away is confusing, and absolutely is the texture of like damp velvet.
not to mention the absolute. TALENT. it takes to be able to consistently sing in the different voices Yalokre uses for each of the characters, that is what impresses me the most. honestly at first i thought it was multiple people singing, but nope! all one really talented person
Same, I always thought it was 4 people singing
It's one person singing??? That's wild!

I’ve had these characters and stories since I was a little kid, the thought of people running wild and completely mischaracterizing it is what I fear the most.
ikr! it just makes me scard to keep going
@@maxdickens2347I would love to see your work. Don’t think any work is ugly unless is showing like. Anime girl as Hitler or something
EXACTLY
true and I feel like more people need to understand that you don't need to share your every opinion and feelings online. Like if you decided to come up with your own random lore for someone else's oc's because it made you happy, okay cool fine that's not the end of the world, but why can't you keep it to yourself and enjoy it by yourself? Why are you sharing it online when it's not your story or characters? Not that there's anything wrong with fan-fiction but there are ways to be respectful about it, and spreading your fanfiction as if it's factual and confirmed lore by the creator is really disrespectful and spreads misinformation
same!! as someone who has a passion project, i do not want any unreasonable hate on it. I only share them towards my followers, family, and friends.
TikTok is truly crazy and I’m glad I’m not on there cus I went on Spotify and I liked the songs and the art is good I can’t believe TikTok made so much drama
yeah that app is crazy. I don't know how I didn't lose my brain when I used to be so obssessed in 2022
Literally I think people being on tiktok is rotting their brain in a way.
It’s genuinely crazy how fast took for people to drive this story to the ground
I think it’s a new record
@@Oktopus549 Legitimately feels like it is too
Look man, I’m a nsfw artist sometimes.
EDIT because people keep misconstruing what I say and I’d rather not spend the next 10 years responding to individual messages lmao:
1. I fully believe in sexual expression being important for self discovery and just general well-being (in those that feel the want for sexual activity, ofc people on the aroace spec are different). Sexual expression is great when it doesn’t harm anybody and can be a good way to cope with different traumas. I’m extremely sex positive both on and off the internet, hence the yknow “I’m literally a nsfw artist myself” thing 💀
2. I’m not saying you’re literally banned from drawing nsfw of things that are popular or that you’d like to regardless of the creator’s wishes. I can’t control you. Nobody can control you. You have freedom of expression, but that doesn’t give you freedom from social consequences. Just like how it’s in your right to draw nsfw of other people’s OCs when they’ve explicitly they dislike it , it’s my right to say you’re weird asf for that and I’d rather not associate with you
I’m not trying to be like the overlord of purity or anything💀 you’re allowed to be weird and horny on the internet
It’s just generally really not that hard to just respect a creator’s wishes. If you want to make nsfw of a character but the creator is uncomfortable with it, make a goddamn OC… It’s wild how many people are defending nsfw artists that disregard others’ feelings and reactions to what they do, and I’m incredibly concerned that SO many people seem to have that ideology.
people don't give a shit about consent nowadays and it hurts
if the characters are literal children i feel like it's just common sense to not do that lmao

How can people hate on something so calming tho? I understand how something like Hazbin could attract a lot of haters but how can someone look at an innocent folkband and go:
*If I have to look at this again I will destroy everything around me*
chill
Despite the Yaelokre fandom going down within WEEKS, I feel like this should be a learning experience for everyone! If anyone is planning to join a fandom, remember to respect the creator, take things fans say with a grain of salt (like Emma said in the video), and that not everything in the fandom is gonna be perfect. I hope Keath is doing okay and this video is amazing, as always, Emma! (I love your art!) 🧡
This stuff is basically like “ITS POPULAR I HATE IT 😡😡😡”
It's reminding me of those arts "I'm not like the other girls🙄"
“GRR THE OBSCURE INDIE ARTIST WITH A PASSION PROJECT ACTUALLY BECAME POPULAR AND THEIR WORK IS RECOGNISED AND LOVED BY OTHERS ITS NOT FAIR” is what I assume how their brain chemistry works😭
I really don't like it because I'm just not into fantasy stuff and I keep hearing the song, it's really overplayed to me but that's bc I don't enjoy listening to stuff I'm not interested in over and over, am I a bad person for that? :(/gen/lh
btw as an artist I really appreciate the creator of it, it's really hard to do art and music and I respect them :3
@@arwenarwenarwenx3 I’m talking about more of the people who are like “oh well I never liked it in the first place! It was bad anyway!” If it’s not your style that is completely understandable!
I've liked yaelokre for like a few months and it makes me sad to see people hating on them (the artist themself) because they're literally so sweet :(
I personally hate how its like, if you have something that becomes popular then its expected to have a discord , but finding mods who arent secretly the worst people ever, or even members who are causing trouble like.
So glad my fandom is small 😭😭 I’ve literally seen no drama because there’s like no fandom smh

i was listening to harpy hare not too long before this was uploaded‼️‼️ i hate it when people just hate for no reason just to seem different or “cool.” hating to the point of the creator switching platforms and even having to leave the internet for a bit is absurd and they should all be disappointed in themselves. the artwork is stunning btw!!
Was a fan of theirs before they were popular, so thank you for talking about this, I had no clue. So messed up how fame brings misery to creators!
THIS
Im so glad that yaelokre is not trending anymore because the fandom is back as what it was.
Here’s to hoping they can get to relax and that the surge dies down a little :[
Dabloons were actually popularised in November of 2022, so it’s almost two years ago If I’m not completely wrong!^_^
wait... 2022 WAS 2 YEARS AGO???????????????
RUclips recommended me Yaelokre's "Happy Hare" song a week ago. I love the song and the style of their art so much (I'm a graphic designer and digital artist). I started to hear their others songs as well and they got me... i susbcribed to their channel. I was making the trend with my art and now that I see this drama and how it affected Yaelokre... i feel bad now. It inspired me a lot. I hope they get well and not let those cruel people bring down their dreams.
Yaelokre, you are an amazing musician and artist, keep making this wonderful piece of art.
Greetings from Chile
To sum up: don’t be a hater just to be quirky, don’t be weird
“All hail Emma!” We chant in unison
The whole yaelokre situation is so sad. They had a lot of potential for so much bigger things. And now we don’t even know if they’re coming back. All because of a string of unfortunate events. I wish Keith the best of luck. Whether they return or not. We will always remember the impeccable imprint they’ve left on our lives. I feel so sorry that this happened to someone who never did anything to anyone. He was quite literally a diamond in the rough.
People arw way too comfortable online, it's crazy. I feel so bad for the creator, I hope things get better for them :(
I would probably call it flash Fandoms, cause it doesn't imply that the media is poor quality, but it also gives you the idea that the Fandom got really big & loud for a minute before fizzling out.
FACTS!
That's the core of this.
i draw nsfw too and youre so right and i agree with all of this. i am actually genuinely so terrified by the rise of puritanism but with a “progressive” slant, because funnily enough it doesn’t affect just fandom discourse but the real world too

Yaelokre deserve all the good things.
The hate train just for the sake of "being different" is ridiculous especially bc this creator seriously put alot of effort and love into their art forms. One person doing 4 entirely new vocals as different characters? Thats seriously impressive
After seeing what happened with Yaelorke, hearing about what happened with Welcome Home and Fundamental Paper Education, fuck, even learning what happened with Chappell Roan, big fanbases/fandoms are the LAST thing anyone should want to have, epsecially if you are working something like a passion project or just making something you want to get out there (art, music, books, etc.)
It's also upsetting to see as somebody who has a lot of passion projects and actually WANT to get them out there. I might as well keep the shit to myself, honestly.
Best advice is to not use TikTok. EVER. Anything that blows up on TikTok is not going to end well, (Welcome home, paper education, etc) especially if it’s a passion project by a small creator.
i literally just love the song and aesthetic and lore. i never even thought of it as a trend, i just thought of it as a story told through music, like a musical.
keath occasionally livestreams on insta and the amount of people that beg them to play harpy hare, even when the streams aren’t even about meadowlark most of the time genuinely upsets me
Really? The song is literally on RUclips, wtf. People can be so selfish, gods.
What if they destroy this thing I’ve put my entire heart into?”
It often seems like nothing innocent and beautiful is allowed to just exist.

Me neither I was vibing to the songs and the instrumental versions. I don't have tiktok so lol. 😂
Yeah, me too. TikTok is banned in my country, so I just listen to this song like I was listening to "Running with the wolves" in 2021.
I've never heard of Yaelokre but now I'm invested 😳
Their music is very good!
LITERALLYYYYY
I'm in the same boat as you and I find it so weird how bitches are ALWAYS picking shit like some person's passion project they stated they DON'T want people to make NSFW for or specifcially the children from a piece of media to make NSFW of.
But at least I went from being a weird weeb kid to someone cool LMAOO
before this i didn't know how popular yaelokre was, i just saw them at the local ren faire and singing at pubs,, free them
Its just wild to me that these things can happen so fast because they got to a fandom early.
WAKE UP EMMA POSTED!!!🎉🎉
(LONG COMMENT): Some people need to realize that you do not need to create reasons (that I've seen are sometimes fabricated, unsubstantial, or just plain stupid) to dislike something. You can dislike it without trying to create something on the top of your head to validate yourself and then enforce it onto other people like they should think the same.
Sure, it's an opinion and you have the right to share it but if you have the intention of spreading unnecessary hate towards unproblematic artists, you better not complain when people return the same energy because it's common sense if you're rude for no reason, you should expect the same reaction back
You are so right
I found Yaeklokre through Harpy Hare and fell in love with this whimsy and almost fairytale like world made.
It's nuts.

@@Duckssss.... The fans harassed the creators. But for more information search up 'Eddsworld Fandom Drama'.
@@Duckssss.... The fans harassed the creators, especially Tord Larrson and Tomska. But for more information I suggest you search up 'Eddsworld Fandom Drama'.
@@Duckssss....people making aus with stolen ocs, people drawing nsfw of a dead man, mischaracterization, people harassing Tord after he left, etc
Everyone keeps saying
"These people made Yaeklokre temporarily quit"
and when someone would ask why
It's radio silence.
its crazy how fast it just went DOWNNN RAPIDLY
I am also horrified of the internet
It’s gonna be ok,you should share your stories
Just don’t own Twitter or TikTok
damn, tiktok is really out here creating fast-fashion fandoms. I feel like an old lady yelling at the clouds, "in my times, we stayed in the same fandom for years, with barely any new content, and we were happy!!"
I just got to know this whole drama thing yesterday (I listened to the songs before without knowing the background lmao), but a thing that jumps to me is that the current online landscape is no healthy for creators...
I feel so bad for the creator that their once small passion project grew out of their control so fast :(
i was initially super happy yaelokre was gaining traction especially since it’s not everyday that such a niche artist from my home country gets so big plus. ive been listening to them since their ren faire performance, but seeing how quickly the fandom blew up and exploded over work that is so personal to the creator made me feel so disheartened:(
the new generation of fandom is so quick to grab and run. i wish we could sit down, appreciate, and explore media at a normal pace again, especially when it’s something that’s meant to be told slowly as is with yaelokre’s lore and stories
I feel so bad for the creator :(
Ah yes, fandom tiktok virality where you get famous and loved then immediately hated within 24 hours
(Sorry this is so long)
Before the internet, and even in its early days, the amount of effort needed to find art you really liked was intense.
Bro the shading and rendering in the background video is so good
