Thanks for all the great tips. 🥑 I just learned to first let an avocado ripen. The brown stem on the end will easily be taken off when ripe. Then you can put it uncut in the refrigerator to keep it fresh for a couple of days. I tried it, and it worked.🥑
You can keep cucumbers fresh in the fridge if you put them in a paperbag and then in a plastic bag. Check after a few days to make sure the bag is not too wet. If it is then change the bag to a fresh one. I've kept cucumbers fresh in the fridge for up to two weeks using this method. This also works well for zucchini.
I've done the alum foil celery storage for many years, but I've always encased the leaves as well. I will split a stalk into two halves next time and try it both ways to see if either is better. And, yes, I can usually keep it about a month.
For keeping bananas, (cut) each banana''s stem away from the common bunch. This will self seal the stem instead of using foil. Do this as soon as you bring the bunch home.
Very informative and helpful. It'll be easier to remember if they are grouped by the technique of storage, like, those in paper bags, lemon, vinegar, etc.,
And another point on bananas 🍌...make sure you hang them from a hook suspended in there natural state to while wrapping the tips on the bushel. Helps tremendously! And also bananas peels make great fertilizer!
Yes here is a tip. After your Avocado ripe store them in a bowl of water in Fridge they will last up to a week and a half without Riping further i have tried it. Prefer Filterd water.
Thank you for the tip on Avocados and the Banana trick. I quit buying the Avo's because they are either too hard, or they turn to much.. but such a great health food
So many unrelated comments. Looking for signs of intelligent life. This video will help me save money. I didn't know you shouldn't store tomatos in the fridge
Cilantro - dry completely when you get it home completely cover it in paper towel and cover it with aluminum foil it will last you 3 -4 weeks in the fridge.
I have always kept tomatoes and other salad items in the chiller drawer and they last longer than being out on a work top or in a cupboard. Have proved this time and time again.
...but makes the tomatoes tasteless ...that's assuming you buy decent tomatoes, supermarket buyers have emphasised shelf life over everything else, and taste has effectively been bred out. With tomatoes, you get what you pay for

Potatoe storage. Put your potatoes in a bowl put in a layer of paper towels on the bottom of bowl& add some potatoes another layer of paper towels. Do not cover with any lid. Change the top layer of paper once too wet. Keeping them in the fridge helps them not to sprout or very little. Pls make sure you use a nice size bowl. U could also use an disposable roasting pan layered with paper towels
Great tips for storing foods, it is very useful for Shanghai People who can not go outside to buy vegetables and fruits. I learned a lot from this video.
My mom puts a piece of bread in with her potatoes. Also when she makes a banana cake. She uses a lil bit of lemon juice to keep the bananas from turning brown.
I have a one-up on the avocado trick boi, yes the citrus way works OK...Try: ‘After storing half the avocado, simply put a rung out paper towel that was drenched all up in the green and gently press the wet paper towel against the avocado. This was a ‘whim’ method but the BEST method!:)
im confused about the ginger root. . . . should it be wrapped up to keep the Freon from mixing with the herb to keep it from tasting or being freezer burnt? and if so, then what type of wrapping. awesome video !! 3000 thumbs up !!
Zeada taste without aluminum foil walay may hota hai , kela us waqt buht zeada mazedar or bilkul meetha hojata hai k jb kaafi had tk iska chilka kaala prjaata hai, Try ke j ga ☺

To avoid cut Apples 🍎🍏 from turning brown squeeze some Lime/Lemon 🍋 Juice on the unpeeled part of the Apple 🍎. Same goes for avocados 🥑.

I just put them in the freezer before they go bad. Then eventually blend them when I make a protein shake 😋

citrus fruit keeps longer in a fridge, they always go mouldy at room temperature I found.

I did not know either.
Me neither🤦🏿
Haha, my family has been putting Tomatoes n the fridge since I was a toddler. We put most Fruit and Vegetables in the fridge.
It won't make them spoil sooner, but the low temperature causes them to lose their flavor.
Arnell Long @ 😂 yours and mine too
Thanks Bright Side this vedoe was helpful, because I one of those people who overboard buying to many fruit and vegetables.

Inventors need to wake up and invent a labelled fruit & veg storage unit which solves these problems.
Awesome Thank you ❤🙇
I put aluminium foil on my beautiful yellow bananas around 6pm yesterday and only 3 HOURS later they were all brown and disgusting! Please dont do it, folks!
Just pop avocados in a fruit bowl next to apples & bananas. And that should do the job. Guarantee ripe avocados the next day !!
The banana method does work
I wrap celery in a wet paper towel and fridge it. I keep potatoes in the veggie drawer of the fridge.
My suggestion.. Buy unripe tomatoes or bananas. U can store it for much longer. 😊😊😊
Well actually a banana when it turns brown it’s more good and ripe
I need a written list of all that to download. Most of this goes by too fast for me to remember more than a short period of time.
Thanks for the helpful Info.🍌🍋🍏🍅🥑🥔🍊
Thank you 🙏 ✔️

But onion and potatoes are great companion when cooking 😁😍👍👍

Anyone who throws rotten fruits and veggies away without composting doesn't understand the meaning of life.
I put my limp broccoli in the usual small container of water, but covering it with the plastic bag it came in, can crisp it up overnight.
To keep food fresh ,eat it and don't leave anything
Stop lapse it 😂🌹
hahaha!😂
Curved yellow fruit , also known as boneless bananas is my favorite.
Thank u for the info 🙏 👍 👍
Should bell peppers be kept in frig crisper in the paper bag or on counter? Maybe I missed it.
