I was about to put a thumbs down until I heard you say “ ok so they are good yaaay” in a sarcastic way👍 thanks for the video. Cool I can freeze my bonanos!
Loved YOUR method. I used waxed paper (didn’t have parchment on hand) and the foil. I placed them whole and sliced 3/4’s of the way through. Took out pan in the morning and they were white, no ice and whole. Let it sit for about 15 mins and slices came apart to add to my smoothies with blueberries and almond butter & milk. Thanks again.🙏
Thank you for posting this. I too buy (a few) bananas at different ripeness; the green and partially green ones ripen way to fast for me. I like mine with a little green on the tip and bottom leaving them with just the right sweetness and firmness, yummmm.
Thanks Amber! Yeah. Too many people call me "dude" or "the man" or "Amy's son" "Amy's dad" "Amy's husband (OK that's acceptable :-) but even if I announce my name at the beginning, they fast forward or something. So I'm hoping the apron helps them when it's time for leaving comments. True. LOL.
throwing in freezer and defrosting and then peeling is good. Some people are thrown off by the darkened peel. But there are many ways to do this. I just got fed up with panic attacks over how to deal with over ripened bananas.
I like to cut them into smaller chunks so that they'll fit better in the blender. I pop them in still frozen and it replaces the ice cubes in smoothies.
Great idea. These would give the Kitchenaid a heart attack (if I haven't broken all of them yet), but your idea would work well. The Vitamix takes a moment, but will pulverize almost anything. Yes, frozen bananas are a great replacement for using ice cubes. Much better flavor. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
Thank you! I'm going to try this. Whenever I freeze them in bags they turn dark or black and then I'm afraid they'll make my smoothies slimy and gross. Maybe freezing them laid out first is the magic trick I needed. 🤞🤞🤞 Thanks
That was a great idea Eric, I always eat them with strawberry's and strawberry Greek yogurt, which i call my breakfast of champions, I will now freeze some bananas, thanks for the idea.
that's the answer i'm looking for. not a god damn 12 mins video telling me how to fill up the freezer space with little amounts of bananas. damn, i would buy a whole new banana with the amount of foil he used.
Thank u so much im always making strawberry banana smoothies in da mornings for my husband for his now tat its hot and im always having to throw sum of da bananas away bc dey go bad with end of couple of days but freezing is da best way to go have a blessed day 🙏❤
Plantain are much bigger. They are fried green as tostones or fried very ripe called maduros. Maduros are sweet and easy. Skin should be partially black. The green ones have to be mashed a little and put in warm salt water before frying. The bananas you are freezing can be cooked like popatoes when they are 100% green. They are very cook. Boil with salt and serve with a teaspoon of the water. They can also be made like potato salad. Good luck!
Hi Amy & Eric!!! I enjoyed the video today. I will try freezing bananas like you did next time. I usually just put them unpeeled in a baggie. Havent used them yet tho. I like to make smoothies. Nice video. Take care & Stay safe.
Hey hows it going. I needed to know your expert opinion but what way have you found storing the bananas that makes them last the longest but without making them hard as a rock like he said in the video?
Thank, you for this video !!!❤ NOW, finally I can freeze my bananas the right way and NOT throw them away !!! Mine, have been a disaster, mushy, brown, stuck together . Just, nasty!😝
You can try just tossing them in a freezer. I've been paranoid about things sticking together if they're touching when freezing. this separation prevents that. But, it does introduce condensation when moving them to the freezer bag. The biggest thing is to remove as much air as possible so they don't get freezer burned if you leave em in the freezer for a few weeks or longer.
Put the skins in a jar with water and after two weeks, you can feed your tomatoes and cucumbers with banana skin water. It's full of potassium and your plants will fruit and grow healthier!
LMAO!!! Where ur standing & the vantage point of the camera, I thought u were wearing a big earring in ur left ear! It wasn’t until u moved ur head a bit that I saw it was the knob on ur cabinet behind u! ....and now I can’t UNsee it....lmao!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Maybe I need to pierce my ears and then go to Home Depot for some knob earrings? LOL. Yes, I didn't notice that, so good eye!!!!! Glad I made your day. LOL.
AmyLearnsToCook ....Oh no...I wasn’t criticizing at all. I apologize if it came out like that. It was just something that made me giggle & I figured it might make someone else giggle too. In these crazy times we’re living in, I never pass up a moment to spread a little laughter. No, I LOVE ur videos! Keep ‘me coming!✌🏻😁
That's what I do I peel and cut them up and put in a freezer ZIP lock bag and put in my freezer and last well 14-21 days sorry I eat them in 16-21 days
Not for banana cream pie. You need to use fresh bananas only for that! That said, I just purchased 2 entire boxes of bananas from Big Deal Outlet for $1 per box. You bet that I’m freezing a lot of bananas today, after sharing what I could with family & friends!
Hey hows it going. I needed to know your expert opinion but what way have you found storing the bananas that makes them last the longest but without making them hard as a rock like he said in the video?
For me to avoid brown bananas I use Fruit Fresh on pealed bananas then put in Freezer on cookie sheeet till firm then in bags Guess What NO MORE BROWN BANANAS

Bananas are great for adding sweetness. I have been sugar-free for many years but always need sweetness.. Thank you for this video, Boo and Moo.
Yup. love bananas. Boo and Moo. cute. Thanks!!!
Kroger had very ripped bananas at 50 c/ a pound today. Thank you Eric, this will help with grocery budgeting!!!

Thanks Amy and Eric! I needed this tip. I'm always losing bananas that can ripen unpredictably... Love the custom apron 💚

Hi! Love this video. How long can they stay in a vac sealed bag?
After the Bananas have been frozen overnight and put into Ziplock bags, where should they be kept?? Also how to defrost a few to just eat them??
How long are they good before they spoil in the freezer?
I have always thrown them in the freezer as is (duh). This makes way more sense and so much easier when they defrost. Thanks guys!

Me too, and I like them green level going in and going out, at least the banana part.
That was a great idea Eric, I always eat them with strawberry's and strawberry Greek yogurt, which i call my breakfast of champions, I will now freeze some bananas, thanks for the idea.
Sounds great Tracci!!!
Just throw the whole bunch of bananas in the freezer, pull one out run it under hot water for about 15-20 seconds, the skin peels right off.

So much for preserving bananas that doesn't cost much.
Thanks

will make this process with some home yard orgánic bananas but in a ziploc bag
I do this with bananas and chicken pieces... I use the flexible cutting boards... Reusable and saves money.
That sounds like a really good idea.
@@EricLearnstoCook Thank you so much, Eric! I realized I didn't really like using them for cutting and didn't want to throw them away.

This would make frozen treat or banana sandwich with butter w/frozen banana.
