It's so hard to find Art Nouveau pieces because it was such a short time in history when artists created them. The fireplace screen was so lovely and the needlepoint castle reminded me of Chateau Love!

I am definitely impressed with your husband‘s DIY skills. I always did extra work to pay others who are more highly skilled. However, there is definite satisfaction in the doing when you are a craftsman. From watching the Château group it is clear that feathering ones nest is , something that never stops. I’ve suggested in the past to other members of the group they might consider upping the charity bit. My father used to say he wouldn’t run a benefit for that man when discussing somebody who was well off. In your case, you were obviously well off, and it would be wonderful to watch you getting engaged with charitable activities. I know there are people out there who need your help.
Lovely color! The bathroom is going to be beautiful! I'm excited to see what kind of 'decorative paint you embellish the upper walls with. An ethereal trompe l'oiel landscape would be lovely. I am gob-smacked at how he can just paint an entire bathroom with NO drop cloth, wearing his ordinary clothes (apparently not getting a spot of paint on them), and with just a small paint brush. I've always been astonished at the various chateau chronicles I watch on YT, in which paint rollers are NEVER employed; just tiny paint brushes. Chatelaines must all be a masochistic breed, as that is the slowest kind of painting. I'd be tearing my hair out after doing several coats of paint-by-brush!!
