It's BS that USDA still Publishes a Grain Stocks Report, but quit The Cattle on Feed Report. I am Angry as both a Taxpayer and Consumer, that the Federal Govt treats Grain Farmers better than other Segments of Agribusiness, and Spends too much Money on the SNAP Program.
Was in Dubuque, IA yesterday. Heard farmers talking. Soybean yields very good, the earlier maturing beans now down to 9% moisture, so they are switching to corn. Hasn't rained here in 4 weeks. Weather guy said 94% of Iowa is now in some form of drought. 🤥
NE Louisiana. Corn crop was average. Soybeans are a mixed bag. Planting conditions led to a late crop. I’ve seen yields from 40 bu to 95 bu. Overall looks to be less than average. Hurricane caused a lot of damage in soybeans. Seen anywhere from 3% to 35%. the latter being sold for salvage at $2 bu.
50 bpa beans average southern mn. 12% in the morning 9% by sundown. Lots of green spots in drowned out areas. Trucks are lined up to the cemetery. Guys are hauling right to the elevator. I'm storing most of ours. Farm like a lunatic lol
Central Ohio, we just got hit with 60mph winds and around 3.5 inches of rain, after a long drought. Corn is probably on the ground. Afraid to go out this morning and look. FYI
Southern Clinton county our power is still out lots of trees down. With the rain earlier in the week we have gotten 4 inches. We needed the rain but not the damage. Early beans have been better than expected some being the best I have ever cut. However beans planted just two weeks later are still a concern.
Apparently a lot in elevator storage in N IL. At least one local place still had a full bin of old beans before harvest started. There's talk of elevators running out of bean storage because so much old crop is taking up space.
My guess is that with the bad news in China , the #1 priority is food always. I'm guessing that China is taking no chances on having enough calories. On overall China economy , there labor participation rate is 66% , whereas USA participation rate is 62.7 %. And China population is 4 x......🤷🏼♂️
nw central ohio. the weatherman has been completely wrong for the last 3 months of drought. now they are expecting the next 3 weeks to be completely wet and right. going to switch to the corn header and wait, beans were maybe 1 day off from being able to start. the only thing moving around here is old crop.
Looking long term, China's fundamentals on virtually every front is unhealthy to toxic. This is a dead cat bounce. This liquidity will make it's way through the capital markets and eventually evaporate. Throwing good money at bad money is a fool's errand if nothing changes structurally internally.
South of I70 corn yields 90-120 bushels, beans 45-55bushels. Very dry. 3 weeks Early harvest.
North central South Dakota. Beans a huge disappointment. Too hot and dry in July and August. Beans averaging 28

WC ohio beans are small. Hearing 40-73. Might average 55-60 in this area. Could have averaged 65.

Where’s all this old crop at? Didn’t know retirement homes had bins.
