Lots of combines burning in Ohio. The drought is hurting double crop beans. The trees are turning. Soybeans are all 9 percent moisture even at 9am. Hay will be gone in my area by Dec 1. Herd reductions are happening. We will need a good shot of rain for any wheat to get planted.
Oklahoma feeding hay 2 months early. Bean plants that were hanging on are dying (not turning but dying) 1.5" july 1.5" august 0.0" sept. 100° for high today.
Maybe do a show on new uses of corn beans and wheat for nonfood uses. Past new uses like ink from beans, plastic and ethanol from corn made a difference. Time for brain storming.
How much rain will it take to even get to the river system? As dry as the soil is now it would take a lot to make it through the profile or even runoff into the system.

How is it we came to be dependent on China. We got ethanol we got more markets everywhere we didnt have 30 years ago and yet look at the price figuring in inflation. Look at cattle supply and demand low supply steady demand. Over production eventually leads to lower prices this is the one constant no one wants to here.
