Man, I'm hoping for the best. I know that worst case scenario if it did have any binding I could move the shaft closer to the engine by probably an inch especially if I did some light denting of one of the header primaries. I only ran the power steering pump with my Milwaukee M18 for testing and it is just not the same as having the engine running lol. My home made welded up power steering hose for the high pressure side seems to work and has no leaks so that is looking like a win.
This is great. I have a feeling that when I put the Ls3 in my Vic I will have the same problem with the steering shaft. But you showed me the kit to reroute the shaft. I am so excited. I wish the machine shop would get the block done. I still need to order the hollow stem valves for my 821 heads. There is still alot to do and acquire parts. Your truck is coming right along. She is going to be a beast!!!
Machine shops around here are backed up for upwards of 6 months. And if you want them to fully assemble something, years. Thanks as always for checking it out.
Awesome! I'm hoping to have an update video on this thing sometime this weekend. It's come a long ways but yet still so much more to do before it starts or drives.
Sometimes it's a little overwhelming when I think about how much remains but we're happy with the progress. It's getting to the point where we might need to make a list lol.

Have couple of questions I will really like to discuss I am going to be doing a 6.0 swap as well and need help on which wiring and parts to buy to make it fit
my '94 4.0 still has some life(142,) but I'd sure love a nice stock chevy v8 swap option. Gauges don't matter just need a way to mount an engine and transmission. and maybe some a/c. thats all i'm asking. How has no one made a kit yet
The closest thing you'll probably find to a kit is specific swap parts from a company called oddball motorsports. From what I've seen they seem to have a good reputation. Kind of expensive though.
All from Amazon. Just search for 3/4 DD steering shaft and you will find it all! It's all basically copies of Borgesson hot rod stuff for a 1/4 of the price. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is you should counter or dimple drill all the steering shaft after you get your lengths right so the set screws have somewhere to fully lock into place.
@@JesseGonzales-x8q Go on amazon and search for RABROPAR and BUYMACHINEPART and also ALLSTAR PERFORMANCE. You need two 3/4" DD u joints and one 3/4 DD to FORD TRIANGLE ujoint. Then you need a 24" long stick of 3/4DD steering shaft. Should be around 100 bucks for everything.
I used a factory GM gen 3 PCM and a cheap Amazon / eBay standalone wire harness. One of these days I will try and do an overview video of ALL the wiring. It doesn't take but power and ground plus ignition switch starter cranking signal to make it run but ultimately there is a lot more than that to get it usable.
@@PNW_Car_Mods i do have a 2003 ford ranger edge and im in love with that truck cuz was my first vehicle and I want to try that but im kind of scared about wiring if you do a video about that well i will like to watch it
Negative. Factory engine harness removed completely. Integrated standalone LS harness merged to the factory chassis harness to make it all work. One of these years I will make a video on the wiring.
@@jessejames7140 Sweet. If you ever see me out there somewhere say Hi. I get people almost daily wanting to check it out. From the gas station to the grocery store.
Steering shaft will be fine once the power steering is complete. That looks great!

Definitely going to be following this for some pointers for when i tackle this on my 04 ranger

Great to see it coming together.🎉
Still hoping to drive this thing by Halloween even if it's not done all the way lol. Thanks as always for checking it out.
That truck is going to be a handful when its done. Cant wait to see it...
There a couple more videos after this one of how we did cooling, driveshaft, and exhaust. We've got over 7k miles on the swap already!
This is going swimmingly.
Very nice.

Must be cold there? Isaac has his hoodie on with a pare of Shorts LOL
It's winter here already. :(
regular ol rod shop around there. hell yeah!
Oh yeah! Gotta get all the fun stuff in NOW before the gubment continues to try and take it away!
those bastards do like to take and steal.
Like a glove!!!
Literally. It's almost kind of bizarre how well it fits lol.
Can you post the links to the steering links and engine mounts. Thanks great videos. Working on a LS Ranger swap 4x4.

Ask away. I may or may not have an answer!

I need that steering shaft setup for my coyote swapped crown vic where did you order the parts from ?

Hey, I looked up that stuff, but is there a certain part number or is there anyway you can help out with a list for that steering shaft set up

This is dope. Too bad my 02 ranger still has low miles
Thank you. Yeah, I don't think I would do this to a nice Ranger. We specifically seeked one out that was destined for the scrap yard.
How did you do with wires to make it work

wood under rear of tires is good
Good catch. That is SOP that got overlooked. Thankfully the parking brake works! but don't rely on it.
Did you reuse the existing harness?

Built ford tuff with all chevy stuff. 😂. JP

Truly unbelievable that a 6.0 with a trans attached was easier to put in than my 5.0 with no trans attached smh. Why did I go ford small blocks?!
and the hood was still on lol!
34 DD aye?
you leave my sister in law out of this hahahahahhaaha
