- As I walk around downtown Windhoek, in Namibia, in Africa, I find a nice street food stall where I discover the Southern African version of a hotdog.
After this delicious introduction, I tell you the sad History of Namibia before heading to Katutura, the biggest township in Windhoek, where you can find the best street food in Namibia, the famous kapana, very thin grilled slices of meat... a pure delight.

Protect this man at all cost. He's breaking the negative stereotypes about Africa.
Not hating but he just speaks objectively and not really subjectively🤷🏾♂️ there should be some sort of emotions, you can’t express yourself fully or genuinely if you are walking back to your guesthouse/air bnb up in the suburbs👀😗🤷🏾♂️
Always following from kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪
Hello same here🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
I'm an American and had no desire to visit Africa until I found this channel. It's on my bucket list now. Yves does a great job with sharing his experiences. The sights , the sounds and his honest commentary. No background music, no drones, just a well documented experience from his point of view. Call me weird but the best part of these videos are listening to the sound of the bike peddles turning. Makes me feel like I'm am along for the ride.
Karibu (Welcome) to Africa.
I don't get why people want to put music over everything. life is not a music video, I too want to hear peddles and the wind gushing. 100% true words.
You should come and enjoy the unique adventure
epstein island attendee it seems, recidivists who make laws for others but themselves
You will enjoy your tour
Huge greetings to Namibia , South Africa and Zimbabwe and all African countries from Palestine ❤️❤️❤️
Namibians seem like beautiful people. Greetings from Sweden!🔰
Let's wait for us south africans.. I want to see their impressions.
Yeah we are beautiful indeed
Very Nostalgic to see Windhoek. Having lived in Namibia and worked for the United Nations during historic transition to make Namibia Independent from South Africa was the best memorable experience of my life. At one point you were standing in front of my former office. Brings back memories. Too bad you are not going to Swakopmund, which is still very German town. Wish you had gone inside that Iconic Church.
Thank you for your service, with love 🇳🇦
@@elisekuwa1454 It was my pleasure. I love Namibia as a result I have visited Namibia many times after its Independence.

Good morning my friends? Still following Yves from Rwanda!🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼
Interesting point, there attire you saw in Botswana, the first time you entered Toteng village right before Sehitlhwa is a german inspired Herero traditional clothing. The interesting thing is our word of that kind of attire is called a Jeremane i.e. German. Batswana and Namibians have a strong shared history and ethnicities.
Namibia 🇳🇦 here we comes, very beautiful country, I like their infrastructure, 👍
Thank you Yves for sharing the sad history of Namibia 😢
Namibia is very clean I have never in my life saw a country that cleaned,❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🥰
Try Kigali Rwanda. Cleanest city in Africa
It's not true Namibia is the cleanest in Africa
Unlike Rwanda, Namibia is clean as a whole not just the capital city.
@Selma2 That's true I was there travelling around Namibia but the whole country is clean and the friendliest people ever, there spirit is pure,❤️

Hello my friend. I am a Cuban based in Botswana 🇧🇼 . I am following you learning from you also about the history of every place or city you have been visiting. I visited Windhoek last July I really liked it. Good luck. I hope next stages of your journey will be as friendly and secure as Namibia.Take care.
The way you savor your food is truly appetizing ....
The food market vendors are honest, they didnt try to scam you. These are people who deserve a tip, not those greedy Nyembas and Himbas who milked R300 out of you.
Namibia's markets are very clean and well organised 👏👏
Kino, the Namibian brown pap you ate is made from pearl millet flour (locally known as Mahangu), while nsima and ugali is made from white maize flour. Pearl millet/Mahangu is a staple food in Northern Namibia as it’s a drought resistant crop compared to Maize, it’s also much healthier.
Hello Bantu cousin in Kenya we call it ugali
We call it ngima in kikuyu, a bantu language from Kenya. Luhyas calling obusima
@@longatsosin northern Namibia it's called oshithima/oshifima
When living in Zimbabwe it is called sadza but in SA it called pap. Hence at a braai, a popular meal will be pap en vleis. And beorewors.
@@Ndeumona-Scho In zambia we call it nshima.or buhobe, nsima, ubwali, etc in our nine common bantu language.

I love Windhoek it's not overpopulated like Nairobi. No matatus.
I did not know that Germans had a history of barbaric cruelty before WWII. Also, always a pleasure to meet the many kind and friendly locals through your eyes.
Lovely tour of Windhoek. And a very sad history of Namibia which is unfortunately replicated in many African countries, especially the recently 'de-colonised' (from the 1990s). Populations are still traumatised. Thanks Yves for bringing the best out of the ordinary lives of ordinary populations.
Nothing beats this authenticity. Yves, greetings from Kampala, Uganda.
