Just wanna thank you for the nostalgia and good memories, I used to watch this video a lot back in the day and when I found it, it cheered me up during this depressing pandemic thank you so much for what you did I hope I bump into this video again soon
I just ran across your channel from YT's home page. I just had to tell you that I have been thinking about making a model car junk yard for some time now! I used to build them for years as a kid. I still have quite a few cars from that time of my life, which is amazing when you think it has been over 50 years since I was an avid modeller. YES I am a senior citizen. I never got around to that project, as I morphed into other hobbies since then. The three things that have kept my free time not so free have been Hot Rods, Motorcycles, and the thing that got me from the modeling hobby, Building and Racing RC cars. IF only I had half of the money that I spent, and spend on RC, I could retire a rich man. Thanks, I Now Have the Inspiration to build that junk yard, finally!
Thanks for the feedback.Glad i could help you find inspiration to build a junkyard..The peace and enjoyment it brought me was awesome...I don't do it so much anymore as i don't have the time..But please post some videos when you do make one.Would love to see it. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out.(◣_◢)
me and my friend did that a lot when we were growing up. we used cigarette lighters. we use to smash them alot to when we screw up or got tired of them. my friend use to like crushing them, under his shoes or boots a lot. lol it was so fun to watch him to. he crushed a lot of mine! he only crushed a few of his own, lol, imagine that! i remember building one one night, we had a sleep over, and i built this one and it turned out horable! he laughed at it, and i tried to tease him back by saying "i supose you want to crush it now, ha?" but i played the joke on him, or something. anyway he stepped up onto the tabletop we were working on (at his basement work bench) where my ugly brand new 57 chevy sat and proceeded to slowly walk over to me and he very very slowly put one of his shoes on it, his heel on the roof, and i didn't do or say anything so he kept pressing down and he ended up standing free weight on it for a good couple minutes, but with the laughing and giggling it finally caved in and he proceeded to destroy it, right there where it was built.
This is true to in nature. Back then, you could wack a telephone pole and do this much damage, and it wouldn't effect the Interior of the car. You would be ok provided you had your seatbelt on. Hey Toasted,.. "Damage Incorporated"
Nice work. I always wanted to build a junkyard scene, or make abandoned and wrecked cars to be left on the streets. You definitely got the finesse to make it really pop.
2021 Wow hard to believe this video is going on 10 years old. Boy doe's time fly. I want to thank each and everyone of ya for watching and commenting and getting this video to 2.1million views.

just about 5 mins ago i started making a car crash scene/model but im using the metal mosels you can buy at almost any store. all i did was throw it around to get the scratches and a well placed slam with a brick did the job. im going to finish the model soon all i need is to make a model road with debris
Yeah man glad i inspired...sucks you had to let it all go...but i know and understand truly..now we kinda walk in the same shoes on this note..but maybe in the future the drive and ability will come back again ...ya never know!!!speaking to myself to..good luck in what ever may come your way.. Stoney out!(◣_◢)
Super cool how too handy for exactly what you are doing with the crashed an laying up abandoned cars cool just subbed to your channel for the support Great job 👍
Magnifique travail monsieur Merci beaucoup pour les explications C'est un plaisir pour les yeux Je suis abonné Et je serai fier de vous avoir comme abonné aussi Magnificent work sir Thank you very much for the explanation This is a pleasure for the eyes I am subscribed!!!! And I would be proud to have you as subscriber too
So I see this is from 2011 and now I'm seeing it in September 1st 2021. I've done this to many of cars and trucks with trees or telephone poles and head on collisions, rollovers ect, but this was back in the late 60's to mid 70's. Now I am a retired Body and fender repairman. funny how my years of building models and crashing them had me fixing all those real vehicles people wrecked up. So anyway if you had the fenders on that 57 model rolled in and the headlight gone and both tires flat it would have been damn near perfect. looks good though. Like how you made your junkyard.
Cool, now I know how to make my model car look even more like a jumker..........Well, I guess that my fate to make junkers,as no matter how hard I try,my models never came out like a showroom condetion....they always look like from a junkyard T_T.
The next time you do one of these cut the plastic between the fenders and the front of the doors to create a gap between them. When a car gets hit it will pull the front of the fenders towards each other and backs of the fenders away.
Feb. 2018---Thanks for the how to video. But did anyone notice his wrecking yard is filled with cars/trucks from the 50's and maybe 60's? The point? Can you imagine what the cars of today would look like hitting a phone pole or a head on collision? Getting back into modeling after 15 years and going for 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse dioramas. Since there are basically NO modern day cars/trucks available as plastic kits, been buying diecast ones in 1/32nd & 1/36th scales. So now looking for how to videos like this one showing what a car might look like damaged.
@samfrye1 this is also true but i tend to do that when i want things to bend my way not random brings out the detail like how i fixed the front bumper in this vid... i had to heat it form it glue it cool down then reheat it for the full crush in "impact"
I'M ONLY HERE FOR METALLICA! (◣_◢)

Awesome, this was really funny - I can imagine creating a diorama where you could put in a 1/18 scale tree for the car to be crashed into.
+WhatisASMR i have done that 1/24 scale tree
SOO KOOOOOLLLL.
Nice work.
Mike Espo .
If you added a flat tire it would have been perfect :D

To make the glass look like that you can simply hit it to the corner of the table
+yuvraj singh cheema you can but it's uncontrolled
Awesome music. And I think I'll try the technique. Obviously it'll only work on plastic models. Thanks
That is A Great Piece of Art your Creating, lots of Time in it I Bet !!!
