    Great video’s, I’m really enjoying everything you put out, especially no music and text instead of talking and the whole bunch of well used tools and machinery, has to be the first dirty Festo drill I’ve seen. Hope you can keep them coming, great stuff.

    The stairs would be made new again.That process was awesome to see!
    Motivated me to restore my own 1865 stairs as well. Scraping paint was tough, but now they are sanded and stained and will look great. Thanks for motivating me!!

    You should eye down off the first door frame leg to set the second one so it's within wind. If you can't eye off the leg because of a wall etc.., then use the string method from corner to corner, and when they touch in the middle, the casing is in wind. Shouldn't need the spirit level on the second leg to check plumb.

    This is a great video! I've needed to replace my front door and found a great solid mid-modern style door at a local builder salvage. And I got an oak frame. But I was not clear on some of the details. You covered it all. I especially like how neatly you positioned the screw holes, the plugs (I had never thought of that), and packing on the side pieces. Thanks very much for making this and posting!

    ar·chi·trave: (in classical architecture) a main beam resting across the tops of columns, specifically the lower third entablature. "Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
    ...did gyre and gimble in the wabe: all mimsy were the borogoves....and the mome raths outgrabe." I say, old mole, jolly good work! Best wishes and stay healthy.

    That table saw setup is deceptively safe with that big metal cover over the blade top. If something gets picked up, it will just jam the thing. I'm getting rid of my table saw because I have other methods for rip cuts which are more accurate and it takes up some space.

    We all have off days!
    Why did you pack under both legs, unnecessary.
    You say "level this way before putting bottom screws." You built the wall plumb, right? Even if its not plumb you are governed by the face of the plasterboard, any "level this way" required will screw up the architrave.
    Lining casts a shadow onto moisture resistant plasterboard, meaning lining was not ripped down enough.
    Finally, after fitting right leg you say you would hang the door, is it swinging into the ensuite or into the bedroom? lol

    "level' this way first.." - PLUMB!!!.. Level = horizontal.. and wtf are you using those nasty plastic shims for? Long folding wedges are infinitely adjustable in place by simply sliding past each other..

    • @Toyotaamazon80series
      @Toyotaamazon80series Год назад

      I make my own timber shims from scraps of structural timber, (usually 4"X2"). I use a shim jig on my table saw. I cut the scraps to 8" in length and cut a blast of them at one time. I usually fill an old drywall compound bucket with them. I usually put a few into my various toolboxes and a tool bucket I use for finish work. They have a hundred and one uses, I nearly always have one or two of them in my toolbelt as well, 👍😁💪🔨🇮🇪
