Thank you Lord Buddha for allowing me to find the right livelihood. Thank you Lord Buddha for inspiring me. Thank you Lord Buddha for your invaluable teachings. Thank you Lord Buddha for your boundless wisdom, so great it's as expansive as the universe is large. Thank you Lord Buddha for your endless amount of compassion and boundless loving-kindness. 2:10
I hope to one day master what only you have done, Lord Buddha. I hope to one day embody that of your teachings, Lord Buddha. I hope that one day, I can too have the boundless energy, wisdom, and strength that only you have mastered, Lord Buddha. 5:21
I just want to point out the redundancy in the term "self-help." There is really no "self-help" per se, but help as a whole. Because if you're helping yourself "self-help" that'd just be called "help." Thank you George Carlin for teaching me that one. 6:24
Maybe self-development and growth might be better terms to use. Or even critical-thinking or self-realization might actually be more appropriate. 8:02
I recently learned that science is beginning to learn that being "psychotic" is almost like being on psychedelics, in terms of its effects on brain chemistry. So that's worth investigating, I think. I had and still have a theory that those that are psychotic actually have something important to say. In my opinion. 9:58
Ah yes, I've often reflected on if it's truly possible to have a committed relationship and completely follow the path to enlightenment... Still searching for an answer. But I think, it's not really conducive to an environment in which one can completely devote one's life to. It'd be a rare exception.12:45
I often say that "anyone can have a child, but not everyone can be a parent." It's the responsibility of the parents to shape and mould their children into healthy, self-sufficient, responsible, and respectful adults. They say it "takes a community to raise a child" and that's very true. Children are like sponges. Everything you teach them (for the most part) they absorb. Whether you think they're watching, listening, etc. they absorb everything. That's why it's absolutely crucial to be responsible parents for now and in the future.15:42
I only have one child. So I could focus my energy on that one child. My mother had more children than me. And from that I saw how difficult it was to spread out the time, resources, etc. 22:13
Equanimity is not easy to master. I was picking up my daughter's friend, and when I left my residence. I heard and saw a man yelling. I walked over because that's where I had to pick up her friend. And unfortunately, I had forgotten to bring my phone. There was a gentleman who was lying on the ground screaming in pain. There was a gentleman sitting on a bench near him on his phone. There were people inside working and people walking around. Not one person stopped to get this gentleman some help. The man on the bench left, and it wasn't until my daughter's friend's mom came could I call for help. Everyone was confused and it was the classic bystander effect in progress. I was at that time, the only person to call for an ambulance and get him to the hospital. Because everyone was waiting for someone else to do something, nothing was getting done. 24:11
"Pride goeth before a fall" Proverbs. Remember that. Don't be too prideful. 28:40
Thank you so much for this channel in helping me understand the examples which lead to suffering. The unskilful qualities and what the results of those are. That has cleared up a lot of questions I had. Thank you very much!❤ 33:26
