Great story, thanks for sharing. I didn't start riding until I was 44 and will turn 70 tomorrow. The SG is only my 3rd bike following a Sportster 1200 Custom and a Dyna Super Glide Custom (never thought that I'd give that bike up). LOL...obviously I don't go through bikes quickly. In the interest of full disclosure, I used to work at HD and other than the mechanic who set the bike up, I was the 1st to ride her. I fell in love immediately and before long, she was home in my garage. On a side note, I "complained" to the General Sales Manager that they were selling me a used bike because it had 220 miles on the odometer. He laughed, looked at me and said, "Royce, you put most of those miles on the bike!" I was skeptical about the mini-fairing, but once I understood that it was a combination of function and style, that changed. While the fairing doesn't eliminate all of the buffering, it keeps a large amount of wind off of your chest which helps reduce fatigue on longer rides. As I mentioned in a previous post, I've since replaced it with the El Diablo fairing from LA Fairing Co. It does a better job managing the buffeting and I like the looks. Keep riding, posting, and stay safe!
Thanks for the comments Royce, I really appreciate your time and hearing about your backstory! Seems we have a similar story, although I’ve come from other brands. Happy birthday for today! I hope you have a great day! Ride safe and take care!
Good for you mate 👍 keep on riding 🏍️. I stopped riding for 20 years after I got married and got 2 babies. Now they're 9 and 15 years old and I am 50 years old. I bought myself a YAMAHA R1 and last month a 2nd bike Harley Davidson Sportster 48 take turns riding to work and around town. Enjoy your Sport Glide mate ❤ 🤟 .
Nice one keep it up, I started riding at 17 on gt250 which I passed my bike test on and have rode since, even though I've driven a car, as well and done the kids and marriage thing. I presently own a Harley Davidson street glide, but am considering a sport glide, so was great to get your take on one and why you bought it.
@@Midlife5 still love my street glide, but have experience some I'll health issuex recently and lost some of strength the sport glide seems a great option.
@@paulfowler8701 Sorry to hear that Paul, hope all is ok. it is (in my opinion) a good alternative, It’s so much lighter but also provides a platform for some touring capabilities while also being a great bike round town. If you haven’t done already you should try and ride one. Keep me posted
@@Midlife5 I still recovering, but its all going in the right direction😊. Thanks for that feed back on the street glide, will definitely, go and try one out.
I was 17 when i got my first bike Yamaha RD200. I cringe when i look back at how i rode that thing. Now deep into my 50's i ride a Lo Rider 107. Great vid.
Hi Mark, thanks for the kind comments! I know how you feel, it’s lucky we’re still around after being allowed to ride at 17!! Stay safe and thanks again! 👍🏻
Sport glide is a very comfortable and capable bike. I absolutely love mine.
Me too!!
