I am planning on buying Alden shell chukkas, but I'm not sure of the size. I have alden cap toe boots in 8.5D barrie and they fit me comfortable. My right foot is slightly smaller and the heel slips just a little. When I lace my boots, the laces pull up really close together. I was wondering how good the chukkas lacing is and will it keep my heel still. And is the circumference of a shell ckukkas shaft equivalent to cap toe boot's? Two pairs of these. One in the same color as yours, one in dark brown. The dark brown was purchased in 2010. Been resoled once. Have you had any restoration work done? If so, where and how did it turn out? I'd like to keep going on my beat up old dark brown pair if I can... Just don't know if sending it to Alden is worthwhile.

Do you think shoe trees should be used in these boots since the shoe itself doesn't have much structure? Btw, I generally wear an 11D, but on this boot, the 10.5D fits perfect.
Same sizing experience here. My alden indy and red wing iron ranger is size 8D, and was lucky enough to find a second of this unlined suede alden chukka in size 7.5E. They fit well with thinner socks despite the narrower last compared to trubalance. But everyone’s feet may differ and of course it is recommended to try it in store if possible.
have you ever owned a pair of mr. Bs for aldo... i was just wondering if yes how well do they stack up to Aldens, because mr bs are more in my price range.

Do you use water-proof spray on your suede chukkas? I just bought an Alden snuff suede loafer and am undecided about whether to spray it with waterproofing or not.
okay, thanks! Btw, where did you spray it and leave it to dry? I read that it needs to be in a well ventilated area, but leaving it to dry outdoors seems to expose it too much to dust and the elements.
regardinghongkong I put some newspaper down and I do it by sliding glass door indoors. However you could do it outside and then bring them indoors to let them dry.
Good idea! What about maintaining and protecting the flexible leather sole?? Is it a good idea to use something like the Saphir sole guard on it? I can't find any information about maintaining the flex welt soles on the Internet.
Great boots, quite fancy a pair of them for myself. I can't help but think you would be better served with a tighter fit jeans to accent them (much like what golden balls is wearing). Good video.
Aldens blow ALL Aldo shoes out of the water. Alden has better and full grain leather from Horween and have better consturction quality. Also, I'm pretty sure all Aldo's are bondwelted.

Beckham was wearing them in snowy conditions. I would avoid rain/snow with these boots even with suede spray.

I have never used shoe trees in mine and have seen no ill-effects.

Alden does not make anything for RL. I'm not familiar with those.

I think these soles are kind of waterproof as they come so probably don’t have to really do anything.
I'm not looking at suede chukkas but shell cordovan chukkas.
What cleaning kit do you use for Alden’s ?
I have the Saphir Netoyant stuff as well as Allen Edmonds suede eraser and brush.
