Make Exercise Feel Comfortable

- We’re so used to believing that if we don’t struggle when we exercise, we’re not gonna get results. We’re not pushing hard enough. This is the reason why most of us have created negative associations to our workouts. When we think about exercising, we think about the idea of putting ourselves through pain and struggle. We think about the discomfort in our chest and lung when we can’t catch our breath. The burning aching sensations in our muscles. These associations and feelings of pain is what stops us from feeling motivated to exercise and take care of our health.
Instead do the opposite. Make exercise feel comfortable and make it easier. Remember that consistency is what creates results. All you have to do is take a little steps forward every day, and soon you’ll be jumping by leaps and bounds. via @mikechangofficial
Honestly it is a really negative association for me and I’m really working through that! I think it’s because of a long term injury I’ve had. When I start exercising it usually flares up and when I pull way back it’s just not fun. Once I can hack the mental struggle with this, I know I have a whole different future ahead for me.

@@dad4378 knee injury for me! Dislocated left patella and it’s never been the same since. Surgeon says do PT and PT says to do surgery lol so instead it’s just me living with it

Man I got a neurodivergent brain, I DO struggle every morning 😂😂 You're right though, exercising should be fun AND challenging, not too easy but something to look forward to
