Hi, Drew, thank you for the video. Taking you up on the offer at the end, please walk us through multitrack recording using the Dante Card with the "tracks live" application. Routing, network assignments, anything that an ametuer should know. Thank you
I recommend for everyone new in the Dante world to check out Audinates Dante Level 1 Course. There you learn the basics of Dante. No need for course 2+3 if you aren’t working with larger Dante networks. 😊
Hey, loved the video! Just had one question if that's fine. I'm working with a setup where I have the Dante expansion card on my M32 Midas console while also running a DL32 stage box on the stage side of an events space with a shielded Cat5E cable coming out of AES port A. This events space is actually a building with multiple rooms so we have a robust Dante Network using DVS for different pieces of gear to communicate with one another. As of now, the primary clock source is NOT the Midas Console but is another device on the network. Whenever I change the consoles clock source to come from the expansion card to recognize the external gears clock source I still have problems within the main room. I'll play audio for around 1-5minutes before I hear a loud pop/bang within the speaker system that disconnects the stage box temporarily and then re-connects it. Once it's re-connected, the problem doesn't occur again unless I do a full shutdown of the DL32 stage box and the Midas console. My question is; have you (or anybody here), ever experienced this before? it feels like a clock source problem where the Dante card or stage box re-syncs itself, however, no information is displayed on the clock source events log on DVS. Also my "Enable Sync To External" feature is disabled on the Dante end of my Midas console. Would definitely love some feedback or insight on the issue.
Video of a Midas DN4816-O as a FoH send for a IEM system. I just got one, and haven't had a chance to play with it, but it should work. Could be really valuable to people. Would make a lot more sense than getting hardware or cable splitters.
Hi Drew, great video. I own an X32 rack and am thinking of buying the Dante card for the following reasons. Use Ableton for backing tracks Record multitracks via Reaper Send processing into Live Professor then back to rack Will all of this work seemingly with Dante Thanks
I’ve always loved your videos. You’ve helped a ton over the years. Could you show a video on Dante MultiCasting? I was having some clock sync issues when I tried setting it up and wasn’t too sure why. Thanks & Merry Christmas!!
Thank you very much for your many excellent and highly informative videos. I would like to seek your assessment regarding a project involving a Dante card. Up until now, we have mirrored the signals on the X32, sending a signal via the standard AES50 output to another X32 for the FOH mix, containing all duplicated signals. Now, we aim to output this mirrored signal via Dante since the sound engineer is using a dLive console. The X32 on stage should continue to be used normally by the band. FOH will be entirely managed through Dante, while the monitor mix on stage will still be handled by the X32. Will this work, or is there a flaw in this plan? Thank you!
Thanks for the video. One open question for me: Where is the configuration of the Dante network stored? On every Dante device in the network, so that it won't get lost if one device fails? Thanks in advance.
Yes, the configuration is stored on every Dante device. If you disconnect one, the rest of the network keeps the configuration and tries to reach the lost device. Once it‘s plugged in again the network should find it and establish the routed connections again. No need to have an Dante Controller running the whole time.
you forgot to show the output from x32 to dante. Is it possible to output channel one, two, tree etc. to its own output directly to dante without using a bus? On my x32 I could not find any possibility or it is hidden very good.
On the Behringer website it states that the MADI expansion card is available for the Wing, but I cannot find it anywhere online, can you confirm whether a MADI expansion card is available for the Wing? It would be really disappointing if Behringer has a MADI expansion for the X32 but not for the Wing. Thanks.
When i replace my Klark Audio/USB Card to Dante Card, can i control my Midas also by Dante over MIDI CC Data like i now do by USB. I want to control by Tablet with my DAW software and Multitracks in front of Stage my Midas M32C the Audio and by MIDI CC mute groups. Over 15/20 meters
We're currently running a setup containing a M32 (FOH, Slave) and X32 Rack (InEar-Monitoring,Master) and DL32. We have mixed inputs on the DL32 and X32 Rack itself. So i could just use this dante card in case we need to split all the incoming channels to a second console? So we don't need analog splits anymore?
I see that 6th channel scribble strip on the right side of the board (i.e. MixBus #6) has some issue - no text/icon/channel number displayed. Video: 7:13. Have you been able to fix it?
Hello Drew, Thanks for this informative video, I recently followed it to setup the Dante Card on our M32R. The issue I am having is, anytime I power up the board, it reverts the clock back to internal. It an also reverts the mapped card channels to AES. Anything I may be doing wrong?
Hi. Id like to see the procedure to hook up my laptop to the Dante network (what dongle do I need if it’s a usb c MacBook Pro) playing a stereo track from the Jamzone app and simultaneously run the mixer from a connected iPad via the same network. I’m new to this world so showing how to wire it all up, assign network numbers for iPad control, Routing on the Midas m32r (that’s the mixer I have) to an Input channel etc. Hope this makes sense. I’m willing to pay you to help me get this going. I have recently purchased the Dante expansion card and should get it within a day or so. Please respond and let me know what I need to do to pay you for this guidance. Thank you.
We do live sound using an I-pad like your talking about. When the I-pad show everything green around or close to minus 18 db our x32 rack mixer stays way up in the red but sound is clean with no distortion. It’s like they’re not indexed or synchronized or something. Is there a cure?
@Drew Brashler am I to understand that if I were to plug one port of the Dante card to my Dante switch and the other port of the Dante card to my control network that it will work that way? If so, wow!
Are we able to remotely connect to a Dante network in a different location yet? Say for example my venue has a band playing, I want to record the audio from the console, but I'm in my studio at home? Would I be able to connect the network switch to the venues internet router, and log in remotely and have access to the audio that way?
Hi, thx for your helping videos. is it possible to route the outputs of the internal usb player directly to 2 dante channels? or send on bus only? when i route the aux outputs on the dante card, there are only aux1-6 but the usb player is not in there... thx for your help!
Hey Drew, I've been looking into buying the dante card for a long time, never pulled the trigger. Most important thing is latency on Waves plugins I run them over USB now but struggle keeping latency low some times. Does it run lower latency over the dante card? Maybe a video idea "Dante vs USB plugin latency" ;-)
Thank you for the video tutorial. But I still have a question: I want to understand the routing for outputs. Particular, I need to sent a sygnal from MixBus to Computer (to Dante channel). Could you please advise how to set up such routing properly?
When connecting your console to the secondary port your´re loosing the whole point of redundancy in the system. Get two switches and you´re good to go for an redundant network..
@@Keksstar, again, why couldn’t you use a switch on stage with a bunch of avio boxes? Once in the mixer, there should be digital trim to adjust the levels. No?
@@sound4uaudiovideorecording927 the question was about preamps/gain… not about digital trim. Great difference between those two. Controlling an preamp from the mixer is something other than adjusting digital trim in the mixer.
all roundtrips quoted not including software buffer latency, USB - about 6-8ms + ASIO, Dante with DVS - 8ms minimum hard coded in driver + 1ms ASIO, Dante with PCIe or RME Digiface probably around 500-750us, WSG, would be similar to PCIe/RME guessing but not tested. Using LiveProfessor with DVS on a project currently and seeing 4.67ms in 5.67ms out so 10.34ms round trip

Get an Waves Card for this. It´s optimized for low latency with Waves. An Dante Card is an "simple" In/Out - but it´s not Waves Network.

Hi Drew. PLease, could you explain what the clock source is?
What is the difference between the Behringer Dante card the the Klark Teknik Dante card?
There is no difference between them. You can use the Behringer X-Dante card or the Klark-Teknik DN32-Dante card for either the M32 or the X32.
Can you use something like the neve 8 channel preamp with Dante and still use waves super rack to process those channels coming in as well?
If your computer only has usb c ports how do connect the cat 5 cable to it? Thnx.
I wish they integrate the shure wireless dante support too
Is a possibility to run also run some video for presonus Studiolive III mixer?
Are their any Dante stage boxes or does that remain through the AES50 port as usual? Thanks!
but as usual, Dante is kept for the higher-end market, so it's probably wiser to still use a Behringer stagebox over AES50
If you're looking for a cheap-ish Dante stage box check out the Tio series from yamaha.

How is the DL32 hook up to the Dante Network ?
how to connect all 32 channels to super rack via dante?
Is possible to use the same set up on Studiolive III 33sx mixer. To get audio over Dante?
