What a beautiful song, its a shame it never really got anywhere as it really deserved to be a No1.
I recently saw cliff Richard singing it on a rerun of the Top of The Pops show and I thought then why wasn't this song a big hit for him.
Maybe if it was re released the song might get somewhere today.
Musically, there are endless beautiful turns, his orchestration and lyricism are unsurpassed. I've been listening to it over and over for days. I can't, I don't want to get over it. Thanks.

Goodness, he made some very classy music around this time. Up in the World, Miss You Nights. Lots of influence from classical music. Then all that Alan Tarney material as well with the synthesisers. Amazing period.

My first Cliff album was Every face tells a story. My husband bought it for me in 1978, the year we got married. He told me Cliff was a Christian too and that he had a beautiful voice. In Bible school the year before that I just loved to listen to the song Devil woman without knowing it was from Cliff. Every face tells a story is still my favorite album today, I listen to it when I’m snowboarding and land paddling on my longboard, it fits the untamed look and style Cliff had then and I think even today he is still untamed, unbroken true to himself and his beliefs. And what a wonderful and soothing voice he has. He’s tops for me.
With so much feeling he sings this song. I love it. and so beautiful he was and still is.
