Really nice to see this bike there. This model was developed in Brazil called Honda NX150 Bros years a go. Today, we have the 160cc efi. And here we have o huge industries for small hondas performance parts
Of course I have been waiting for this build with great anticipation . As a few hp more will make it possible to do 60 mph plus and short hwy rides will become safer , I have a bridge on the hwy at 100 klm / 62 mph this would save me the reroute that adds 10 min to the trip . My top speed so far is 66 mph with the wind and slightly down hill I am 250 lbs. , my bike has 2500 miles so it is broken in already and is stock , I have the 115 main jet to install . I am intrigued as to what gearing the BB kit can spin , hopefully a speed of at least 70 mph . My credit card is in hand and I wait patiently . This bike is my favorite in my collection, GL1800 , Navi , XR150L , 230 suzuki 4 wheeler . Do you think it will need a rev- delete kit perhaps to increase the rpm .
Just bought me an XR150 a few weeks ago and love it! I’m about to do exhaust, jets, and air box mod to open it up a bit. This may be next on my list! I will say mine fires right up in one or two cranks with no choke and it’s all stock so not sure why yours is so hard or running so lean. Seems more to me like your pilot jet is gunked up a bit or something…lol. Was awesome to see some actual Dyno numbers on the little bike for sure!
that tube is part of the 'pair' valve setup. what it does is suck fresh air in thru that whole contraption and introduce air into the exhaust (it drafts/sucks it in) . this goes back to the 80s, the old C10 kawasaki Concourses had this far back as 86. It does 2 things: runs the exhaust hotter so it burns more 'unburnt' fuel in the exhaust (the claim) and 2: it gives a leaner reading at idle to pass emissions. it does not recirculate into the carburetor. so not truly an EGR. Yes, i defeat them on all my bikes as well. (including my xr150). s a side note, I fit a nibbi 26mm round slide on mine to retain the stock airbox and intake tube, i lathed the bellmouth down to just fit the stock runner tube to the air box and it works well. curious to see what your results on this ar as i have a 200cc kit sitting on my shelf. Good to see there's room to do some intake work, that's dismal stock. Keep up the good work! ~ M
@dustysteele5408 I made an adapter and put it on the new carb. its not nec needed as a heater...but needs to be plugged in as it (the ign module/ecm) looks for the resistance. it doesn't activate until ambient gets below 45F, fwiw.
Good information, thanks! I have a stock Philippines spec XR150 with a PZ27. I've been looking at the Nibbi carb too. You think the 26mm is the best choice for a stock engine?
This is absolutely the craziest piston upgrade i have ever seen!! A 57 mm to 70 mm is insane!!!! Usally its like 56 to 56.5 or 57mm but 13mm bigger is CRAZY!!! Must be a while new bike
I can think of nothing better than to upgrade this XR150L to a XR190L now that would be awesome. And we know the parts are already beening made by Honda . Please make it happen 🙏 .
I’m interested in the bike but the lack of power is a tad annoying. If I could upgrade for $500-1k it seems reasonable. Would love to see vids of testing it all out.
It's actually a jet or air fuel mix adjustment , there are limits such as altitude also atmosphere conditions like temperature . Typical carburetor issues The upgraded XR190L In South America is a more refined machine .
@@Scooterswapshop I found a $30 narrowband kit and thought maybe that could work. My apologies for being super annoying about a turbo setup on the live chat. @@philipcloutier2553you probably are not mistaken. I’ve thought about buying a 250cc engine off of Amazon to see if it would fit but most likely will not.
I figure 70-75 mph is probably fast enough on this bike and a bike under 300 lbs . A truck might easily blow you off the road along with cross winds anyway . But short 1 or 2 exists at a matching speeds with traffic . Will transform this bike into a all around great rual and nice city commuter . Efficient/Economical. Everyone needs one right . The "restrictor" plate you removed was only the snorkle for wet riding. There is a metal screen that needs to be removed under the air filter.

What did you do with the sensor going to the stock carb?
It's not a sensor It's a carb heater . To assist the carb to get the carb to optimal operating temperature .

go look for Brazilian tuned bikes like these. they go even bigger on bore
do they make the kits themselves? how big do they go?
@@nothuntersmith yes all made there. They go as big as they can lots of bikes on the 80-90mm but I think there's some even bigger

The BBR big bore kit for the 2006-whatever the last year of the CRF150F was should work in the XR150. It's a 195cc iirc, and it's the same motor.
Whats the compression ratio with the 70mm kit
