@@normablake2748 @Norma Blake Hi, I apologize for the late reply. I'm truly sorry to hear you're also suffering from it. My maternal grandmother fought against it for almost her entire life, and while I thought I understood more or less well the reasons behind that, and what she was going through when I was a child or a teenager, I realize now it's a much worse struggle than I ever thought. I used to think having depression meant lying in bed for days on end, not doing anything, crying all day, you know, a rather stereotypical image, or rather a typical misconception. I sometimes feel like I didn't even notice when it started, like it very gradually sidled in, and by the time I noticed its presence, its grasp on me was already strong. Because I actually keep doing many of the things I did before it happened, you know? I still get up from bed every morning, I still do housework, I'm still trying to get a job, I certainly don't spend the whole time I'm awake crying, if anything, I have never cried _less_ than these last few years. And yet, I find it harder and harder to get up every morning, I know there's things I need to do, and I do them, or at least most of them, but I find it more and more tiring and pointless, I know I have to get a job, and stop being a burden for my mother, but thanks to cowardice and not having any idea of what I want to do with my life, my chances of getting a well-paid, meaningful job are now close to none. Depression is such a terrible thing, because it brings about with it such a profound nihilism and hopelessness, as well as an utter lack of enthusiasm or interest about anything, and once it gets hold of you, it can be so hard to shake it off, I guess in that regard it's similar to an addiction: you know it's destroying you, but you can't help it. I'm sure you know all of this full well yourself, of course, it's just like you said, sometimes reaching out to others who are going through the same difficulties and hardships can be of help.
