    I'm 37 years old and went back to school to get a degree... I learned more in this video than in the last two weeks of class, thank you.

      NifiGaming I dont know why, but it's really funny that a "gaming" channel is complimenting a physics teacher. Might want to use a personal account in the future :p

    Why can't I get a professor like you, you are a life saver, I wish my professor would of explained it this way. Waste of time going to his lectures, his accent makes it so hard to understand. So easy I just need to practice, good day to you sir.

      Nope, position is the location of an object with respect to a reference point and displacement is change in position

    The average velocity is the slope between any two points on the position-time graph. The velocity AT 3 seconds is an instantaneous velocity and would also be the slope of the graph AT that point.

    is a position vs time graph the same as a displacement vs time graph?!?

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 года назад

      Generally speaking, yes. The essential difference is that a displacement vs time graph would start at displacement = 0, while position vs time would start whereever it starts relative to the defined origin of the problem.

    why the time is on X-axis ? can we swap the position and time axises? :p

    • @hamburgerbam1581
      @hamburgerbam1581 8 лет назад +1

      +Minhaj Uddin Typically, time is always depicted on the x-axis.

    • @brycemercer5750
      @brycemercer5750 8 лет назад

      +Minhaj Uddin Having time on the x-axis and distance on the y-axis allows the slope to represent the speed of the object (y/x=rise/run=distance/time=speed)

    • @minhajdesigns
      @minhajdesigns 8 лет назад

      Got it.

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 года назад

      @@minhajdesigns Since time is the variable that changes whether we want it to or not, and regardless of what all the other variables are doing, time is treated as the independent variable that conventionally goes on the horizontal axis.

    You use "x" for position in your equations--wish you'd use "x" instead of "P" for the position-time graph title at the end of the video.

    @halaarmouti7386 6 лет назад

    Is the position same as displacement?

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 года назад

      Sort of. Displacement is change in position. So if you start at x=+2 meters, and walk to x=+6 meters, x=+6 meters would be your position, while +4 meters would be your displacement.
