Oh hey, the prog double album that comes with a game. Daisuke is the creator of the series, the writer, the character designer, often the creative director, and always the composer. Guilty Gear is a series that is a love letter to rock and metal in fighting game form. Characters, locations, and attacks are named after bands and songs. In particular, a lot of things are named after Daisuke's favorite band, Queen. For example, you have characters like Slayer, Venom, and Testament; moves like Gamma Ray and Ride the Lightning.

Oh, I’d love to see you react to more guilty gear strive songs, they are really interesting. Also, in regards to the vocals, the character themes of guilty gear almost always tell the story of the character they are about, whether it be directly or through metaphor, so once you know about the character the song is about, it all kind of starts to make sense.

I watched your Symphony video first and left a big ol' comment there, but I'll add some more relevant info for this song here too.
Naoki is the male vocalist here as well, and the female vocalist is AISHA, a Japanese-American artist. Usually it's either Naoki or Aisha but in this song they do a duet, I really like hearing them sing together. Also on the topic of nationalities, Daisuke was born and raised in South Africa, but he's Japanese by blood and he now lives and works in Japan. I've seen him say in interviews that his memories of living in South Africa inspire a good bit of his work.
Necessary Discrepancy is the theme of Ramlethal Valentine. She's a Valentine, which is a fancy way of saying an artificial being made from Guilty Gears own special brand of magic. She started out as an antagonist before quickly being defeated and eventually becoming part of the good guys. She believed at first that she had no emotions or no purpose outside of being used as a tool to bring her creators plans to life, but many people on both sides of the conflict showed her that she's wrong about that, so now in Guilty Gear Strive she's working on embracing her emotions and the meanings hehind them. Her story is one of the main driving forces in the modern games, and as such Daisuke considers Necessary Discrepancy to be just as much the main theme of Strive as the actual main theme, which is titled Smell of the Game. Rams story makes her one of my favorite characters in the whole series, although fighting her in game is a real pain in the ass lol. Gigantic mechanical swords that cover half the screen and she can even throw them at you from even longer range. I forgive her tho because she's pretty

Esperanto was also used in the movie INCUBUS and others. INCUBUS features Willian Shanter and is a good cultist/satanic film rom the 60's. Many thanks on the background on the game.

GG series has some of the thrashiest riffs I've heard in a while. The Strive game in particular has some nasty riffs.

The singing and songs more or less is more akin to theater
    Just with metal rock/jazz influences
Think of a classic "I want song" from Disney but with sick guitars and bass lines everywhere
With even different characters having different approaches, speech patterns and instrumentation
like this song, the time signatures keep changing to reflect how overwhelming the world is to this character
With the synths, and contrast to vocals intensify this even further
And the singer becomes more passionate twords the last half because they are finding out that even with all the bad in the world its still a place born of love and compassion dispite all the issues with it
    All very character driven
    Thats about Iiiit
    Can wait for more

Speaking of Guilty Gear series, its music isn't about prog metal in general. 96% of all songs throughout each game in the series is energetic as hell and played in all sorts of rock styles, from "gentle" ballads and jazzy stuff to thrash. You can check the songs called Freesia or All I Can Do if you're interested in, per say, lyrical ballads. Or, you may check out the songs named Drift and Let Me Carve Your Way if it's thrashy/more agressive stuff you want. Overall, Daisuke's composing is quite unique, that's for sure😀 And speaking of the guy on vocals - his name is Naoki Hashimoto. He sings in english pretty much all the time, so his vocals are easy to understand. I'm not sure if he's still a member, but he surely was the vocalist in a band called Outrage. To my taste, that band has unimaginably strong Metallica vibes...

I personally enjoy the first 3 minutes and a half the best, while the rest doesn't quite suit my taste. Still I can recognize it is a good track
